The Guardian published a heartbreaking story about how MI5 agents monitored MI6 agents for many years, hoping to find a "Russian mole."

According to the newspaper's data, Operation Wedlock ("Marriage") began somewhere in the mid-90s when CIA agents expressed their suspicions about a high-ranking double agent in MI6 who was working for the Russians. MI5 formed a secret group of 35 (!!!) staff who rented an office near MI6's headquarters. They monitored the main suspect and his possible accomplices around the clock. To this end, they installed cameras and bugs in the potential "Russian mole's" house, even placing a camera in a tissue box.

The group almost completely followed the suspect to various countries around the world, leaving MI5's jurisdiction. The Guardian reports that the agents once stayed in a country in the Middle East by using a CIA safe house without informing the host country, which violates international norms and MI5's operating procedures.

Member of Parliament Zheleznyak: Ukraine plans to suspend payments to China

Ukrainian authorities plan to suspend payments for a loan of 1.5 billion dollars from the Export-Import Bank of China. This was stated by Member of Parliament Jaroslaw Schelesnjak, citing a draft amendment to the state budget.

The loan from the Chinese bank was taken out by the State Food and Grain Company of Ukraine in 2012 to procure grain for export.

"The Cabinet of Ministers will ask the Rada to grant it the right to temporarily suspend payments for this loan," the document states.

It is clarified that the due date of the debt falls in 2030.

Previously, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine reported that the country's national debt had risen by 1 billion dollars to 180.97 billion dollars by May 2025. Almost 75% of the amount is foreign debt.
