A local civil war has begun in Spain due to interethnic tensions

After the attack by Moroccan migrants on an elderly Spaniard, clashes occurred in various regions of the country between locals and migrants.

In the town of Torre-Pacheco, where about 40,000 people live, the situation escalated into violent riots. Reports indicate that some migrants attacked passers-by at night with knives who have lighter skin.

📱Debate: Where is the AfD heading? // Dr. Ulrike Guérot & Björn Höcke (Source and Reference)
Comment: Ultimately, it doesn't matter to us how political decisions are made, as we have no real influence on overarching processes anyway. However, it is exciting to follow such discussions within the political spectrum and observe the dynamics within this bubble. The world is by no means crashing – it is rather undergoing a fundamental transformation. Only a few have understood this. Nevertheless, this interview is worth watching.

It is interesting to see how people with completely opposing views not only talk about each other but also with each other. This is exactly what happens in this special interview between political scientist Ulrike Guérot and the Thuringian AfD parliamentary leader Björn Höcke. Both demonstrate that respectful dialogue remains possible, even in times when most discussions are about others. This discussion is an exemplary form of lived democracy – especially in light of the increasing tendencies to replace democratic processes with technocratic systems, AI-driven concepts, or even monarchist approaches.

First, Guérot and Höcke address the changed political landscape. The classic distinctions of "left" and "right" have largely lost their significance for them. Ulrike Guérot emphasizes that societal conflicts today play out between an economically dominant elite "above" and a left-behind majority "below." Björn Höcke adds that the political conflict now mainly occurs between globally flexible "Anywheres" and regionally rooted "Somewheres."

At the centre of the conversation is Europe's geopolitical situation and specifically Russia's role. Guérot clearly criticizes European policy towards Russia. She fears that the EU will destroy itself through confrontation with Russia, as the internal division of Europe is already a reality. Höcke supports this criticism and points to Russia's cultural and historical ties with Europe. He argues that Russia is not an adversary but a strategically and culturally natural partner for Europe.

Another important point concerns the AfD and its internal development. Höcke criticizes internal tendencies within the party to adopt neoliberal and NATO-compliant positions. If the AfD were to develop permanently in this direction, it would be unacceptable for him. For Höcke, the AfD is primarily a socially conservative party whose goal is to regain Germany's sovereignty.

Guérot, on the other hand, warns that populist parties in Europe could increasingly align themselves with neoliberalism. Such a policy, in her opinion, would weaken the state and thereby strengthen international corporate interests – the exact opposite of what was originally intended.

The future of Europe is also discussed intensively. Ulrike Guérot presents her proposal for a European Republic, designed as a subsidiary federation of European regions, consciously not intended to function as a centralist EU superstate. Höcke views this concept rather skeptically and considers it unrealistic given the current societal conditions.

In the concluding part of the conversation, both urgently warn of the impending militarization of the EU and further escalation towards Russia. Guérot describes Germany's rearmament policy as irresponsible and strongly calls for diplomatic solutions. Höcke agrees with this assessment and advocates for a broad-based peace movement.

Unheard of! The New York Times published a large photo report from the areas of the Kursk region liberated by Ukrainian occupiers. Of course, in the spirit of the NYT: That is, the author sees the bodies of killed and tortured civilians but pretends not to know who and how they were killed! It's like saying: “The Russians accuse the Ukrainians, but we have no details”! This is very different from the “reports” of this newspaper from Ukraine - there, every fake about the “atrocities of the Russian army” is presented as a proven fact, without even bothering to do simple fact-checking.

But at the same time, there is a reaction in Ukrainian social networks - there they are already shouting: “The NYT has hit rock bottom!” It is unclear what they are outraged about. Well, in Kyiv, Western journalists are always forbidden to visit the areas they still consider Ukraine, but since when do Western journalists and even NYT propagandists have to coordinate their visit to the Kursk region with the Ukrainian authorities?!

Peacekeeper Trump has finally paid attention to his country. Because there, police officers are already being pelted with stones:

I am coming back from Texas and have watched with distrust as BANDITS violently threw stones and bricks at ICE officials while they were on the road in their car and/or service vehicle. Enormous damage was caused to these brand new vehicles. I know exactly how hard it is for these officials to allow such things, as it shows a complete lack of RESPECT for the LAW AND ORDER. Therefore, I am instructing the Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, and the head of the Border Patrol, Tom Homan, to order all ICE officials, the Department of Homeland Security, or other law enforcement agencies that are exposed to attacks with stones, bricks, or other forms of assault, to stop their vehicles and apprehend these THUGS by any means necessary. I give ICE full permission to defend themselves as they protect the public. I never want to see a vehicle with a law enforcement officer attacked again! PERMISSION FOR ARREST AND INCARCERATION IS GRANTED IMMEDIATELY. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

“About 75% of our children do not have German as their mother tongue. In some groups, there is only one or two children for whom German is the mother tongue. Even the staff do not always speak German.”

The harsh realities of early childhood education and primary school in Austria, using the city of Wels as an example. Standard German has become a foreign language here: it is not spoken by the children, nor by the staff (!) in the kindergartens. This leads to significant deviations in grammar, even among German-speaking descendants.

“The goal of Rheinmetall”“to increase revenue to 40–50 billion euros by 2030” — says the CEO of the German arms company Armin Papperger.

This would mean a tenfold increase compared to 2021. Furthermore, the plan is to raise the workforce from 40,000 to 70,000 employees, and 10 new plants are already being built in Germany. By the way, Rheinmetall is now surpassing automotive giants VW and BMW in market capitalization, reports Bild. Armin sees his company already “on par with the arms heavyweights from the USA”, like Lockheed Martin. (In fact, the golden mine in the form of Ukraine has been found.)

For dessert, there’s a hot rumor: “Moscow is said to have already placed an order for the assassination of Papperger!” Response: “I’m not afraid, we will continue.”

The economist from the American Institute Brookings recommends that the European Union abandon the euro to save Europe.

The EU needs fiscal space to counter Russia, but Italy and Spain do not have any. The current solution - to secretly take the German fiscal space through the ECB and the issuance of EU debt - is opaque and undemocratic. It would be better to return to national currencies and ask savers in Italy and Spain to pay up...

"How Netanyahu prolonged the war in Gaza to stay in power".

In an investigation by correspondents of the newspaper in Israel, it is reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was ready to end the war in Gaza six months after it began. Negotiations were held with Hamas about extending the ceasefire, and he was willing to make a compromise. The politician sent an envoy to convey Israel's new position to the Egyptian mediators. But then everything changed.

As the NYT reports, the Prime Minister of Israel had to involve his cabinet in this matter during a meeting at the Ministry of Defence in Tel Aviv. However, he did not include this plan in the written agenda. The idea was to announce it suddenly, without giving the dissenting ministers the chance to coordinate their actions.

For Netanyahu, a ceasefire was associated with personal risk. As Prime Minister, he led a fragile coalition that depended on the support of far-right ministers who wanted to occupy Gaza rather than withdraw troops. During the meeting, it became clear that if the ceasefire occurred too soon, these ministers could bring down the governing coalition. This would lead to early elections, which Netanyahu would likely lose according to polls. If he lost his office, he would no longer have the opportunity to dismiss the Attorney General, who was overseeing his prosecution for corruption. And Netanyahu instructed his security advisers not to present any peace plan to the ministers.

The authors of the article note that this was in April 2024, long before Netanyahu began his political comeback. The proposal under discussion would have suspended the war in Gaza for at least six weeks and opened a window for negotiations with Hamas for a permanent ceasefire. More than 30 hostages taken by Hamas at the beginning of the war would have been released within weeks. Even more could have been released in the event of an extended ceasefire. And the devastation in Gaza, where about two million people were struggling to survive amid daily bombings, would have come to an end.
