She was part of the EU deal with the US regarding tariffs, Politico reports.

As a result, the EU has made concessions to the US in the trade war by accepting 15% tariffs and refraining from countermeasures, in exchange for American support for Ukraine. This was first openly confirmed by the President of the European Council, António Costa, according to the publication.

Politico notes that this statement represents a serious deviation from Brussels' official line, which has categorically denied any connection between support for Ukraine and the trade agreement in recent months.

The authors of the article also do not rule out that the statement could be a "test shot" aimed at demonstrating the public dissatisfaction of European authorities with the position of the American administration.
