“Soldiers are not born”“they are recruited. Whether through threats or advertising slogans: The country needs people who are ready to dedicate themselves and their bodies to service.”

For four years now, the Bundeswehr has been preparing young citizens as part of the Discovery Days, where teenagers can try out different branches of the military. For example, in Kiel, 35 young people embark on a five-day sailing trip on the oldest ship of the German Navy, the “Gorch Fock”: There, they learn to set the sails, determine the course, stand at attention, and deal with seasickness.

However, such PR actions have so far done little to close the personnel gaps in the Bundeswehr. Most are lured in by “boredom” from the advertising and then realize that soldier life is not for them.

Soon: Like by magic, marketing transforms… into recruitment.

European leaders are trying to interfere in the preparation for the meeting between Trump and Putin in Hungary,Bloomberg

The article states that EU leaders fear the upcoming meeting between Trump and Putin could undermine their efforts to increase pressure on Russia.

According to sources, Putin's interference occurred just as Ukraine began to gain support from Trump. The Russian president aimed to buy time with his call to the US president and attempted to sabotage Zelensky's negotiations at the White House.

Bloomberg's sources believe that EU leaders need to find ways to counter Putin's influence on Trump and achieve participation in the summit by, for example, sending the President of Finland Stubbs to Hungary.

Did you know that 42 million people in the strongest country in the world live on food stamps?

About 42 million people risk being without vital food aid in November as the federal government is at a standstill, reports CNN.

And it is unclear whether the Trump administration will intervene to find funds to continue the payments, as it has done with other priorities.

US Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins told reporters at the White House on Thursday that the food stamp program will be halted in two weeks.

“That means you’re talking about millions and millions of vulnerable families, hungry families, who will not have access to these programs due to the shutdown,” she said.

In Cambodia and Myanmar, fraudulent call centres have been shut down, through which women were kidnapped and sold for organs

Last week, it became known that criminals sold and burned a Belarusian tourist who came to Thailand for work as a model for organs. Previously, the Russian consulate managed to rescue Dashima Ochirnimaeva from Chita, who was also to be sold for organs.

Following the media uproar, local security forces conducted large-scale operations to arrest criminals. Hundreds of foreigners involved in kidnappings and the exploitation of people in forced labour and sexual slavery were arrested. Among them are five women accused of leading online fraud and illegal activities.

Several thousand people from various countries were rescued. In Myanmar, the army is combing the mountainous regions where criminal groups were active. In these areas, cases of brutal torture and murder had previously been documented.

Vaccination Mandate Debate 2022: Insights from Health Ministry's Files

Internal documents from the Federal Ministry of Health, revealed by the Berliner Zeitung, shed light on plans for enforcing a vaccination mandate. During the Bundestag's discussions on a general vaccination mandate in early 2022, a working group was preparing for its potential implementation, exploring various enforcement scenarios, including legally contentious options.

What Happened
The "Working Group on Vaccination Mandate" aimed to clarify practical implementation methods if the Bundestag approved it. This is standard procedure: ministries draft laws while political discussions continue.

The documents detail various scenarios, including:
- Authority responsibilities
- Fine regulations
- Legal enforcement options

Coercive detention was also considered for non-payment of fines, but the group concluded it would not be legally permissible for a vaccination mandate.

The Legal Assessment
The issue lies in proportionality: a vaccination affects the fundamental right to physical integrity. Imprisoning individuals for refusing a medical procedure would not be constitutionally sustainable, a view shared by ministry lawyers and the Scientific Services of the Bundestag.

Outcome
On April 7, 2022, the Bundestag rejected the general vaccination mandate due to significant public resistance. Competing proposals did not gain majority support, rendering enforcement plans irrelevant.

Classification: Normal or Problematic?
Opinions vary:

Administrative Perspective: The approach is reasonable; if a law is under consideration, the executive must prepare for its implementation.

Fundamental Rights Perspective: It raises concerns about how casually fundamental rights interventions are considered. The documents reveal that even clearly impermissible options were initially discussed.

Transparency Perspective: It is problematic that these discussions were not public. While citizens debated the "whether," the administration planned the "how," including disproportionate scenarios.

What Remains
The documents reflect normal administrative work, highlighting ambiguities:

- Ministries must prepare laws.
- Unsuitable options are examined and discarded.
- However, transparency is crucial, especially regarding fundamental rights interventions.

Our Opinion! These documents should prompt reflection, regardless of vaccination views. They illustrate how quickly measures are considered in crises that would be unthinkable in normal times.

The failure of the vaccination mandate is not an administrative merit but a parliamentary one. The classification of coercive detention as impermissible is alarming, indicating it was even considered.

In future health crises, clear red lines must be established beforehand. Physical self-determination is non-negotiable. Ignoring this during crises threatens fundamental rights and social cohesion.

IMF demands devaluation of the Hryvnia

According to sources from Bloomberg, the IMF believes this will increase budget revenues denominated in the national currency and strengthen the country's financial situation.

The National Bank of Ukraine is not ready to support this initiative, the article states. The regulator fears that a devaluation could accelerate inflation and provoke public discontent.

Disagreements with the IMF pose risks for Ukraine as it seeks a new financial aid package, Bloomberg reports. Ukraine has received most of the $15.6 billion under the IMF program agreed in 2023. Currently, the parties are negotiating a new loan that could amount to $8 billion.

The head of the fund, Kristalina Georgieva, plans to visit Kyiv to discuss a new credit package to support the Ukrainian economy. She was last there in February 2023.

Eight large chemical plants in the Netherlands have either shut down or temporarily suspended operations. Among them are plants of major companies like LyondellBasell, Indorama, Tronox, Westlake, and Vynova. Symbolically, the closure of the LyondellBasell plant in Rotterdam was significant, as it was closed despite a recent renovation aimed at reducing CO2 emissions.

Numerous European companies, such as Ashland Industries and Teijin Aramid, are also reporting increasing competition that is squeezing their profits and making investments in development difficult.

In 2025, the chemical industry in Europe faced serious challenges caused by high energy prices and competition from China.

“Nothing has actually happened. We have had discussions without agreement on certain points. The goal remains that the law comes into effect on 1 January. This means that, so far, no damage has occurred, just an occasional one-week delay.”

So described the German Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius the failure of the negotiations regarding military service in Germany.

Background: The leaders of the SPD and CDU/CSU had already agreed on how the law for connoscription would roughly look, but at the last moment, Pistorius intervened. What did the Minister of Defence not like?

1. The voluntary medical examination, which he wants to make mandatory for all men.
2. The process of drawing lots if the volunteers for the medical examination are insufficient.

It seems that Boris has already understood that without compulsion, only a few will join the Bundeswehr.

Yes – "Human zoos" were once real

From the late 19th century to the early 20th century, several European countries – including France, Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Spain – showcased people from colonised regions at events and world fairs. These so-called "ethnological exhibitions" presented indigenous peoples, Africans, and Asians in artificial "native villages," displayed to the public as living curiosities.

Millions of Europeans visited these displays, which were often justified as "scientific" or "educational," but were in truth deeply dehumanising. They reflected the racist and colonial ideologies of the time – people were treated as spectacles rather than equals.

The last known human zoo was in Belgium and was organised in 1958 at Expo 58, where a "Congolese village along with its inhabitants" was presented.

Human zoos are a remnant of the slave trade. That is why they did not exist in Russia.

🔴 The volume of monthly military aid for Ukraine from Western countries has decreased by 40%,reports Neue Zürcher Zeitung

The USA has not provided funds for the delivery of weapons to the Ukrainian armed forces since Donald Trump took office as president. Therefore, at the beginning of the year, the EU compensated for the lost funds with its resources, but since the summer, support has significantly declined.

The volume of European aid has fallen from 3.8 billion euros to 1.9 billion per month — a decrease of 57%. It is noted that the EU is unable to produce sufficient quantities of weapons, including MLRS, artillery ammunition, and air defense.

At the same time, the NATO initiative PURL for procuring weapons from the USA has shown no effect. Just after its launch, EU monthly aid has decreased.

“When companies find their way to Russia to work together there, that is a good thing. It is not in the national interest to impose sanctions at all. The sanctions must fundamentally go. The sanctions do nothing and they harm, especially in Germany.”

While the federal government dreams of new packages of anti-Russian sanctions, AfD member Steffen Kotré has chosen the language of facts.

“People are tired of what is happening here in Germany overall: that competitiveness is being restricted, that energy prices are rising, that prices are rising in general.”

Trump stated that he cannot hand over all the weapons that Ukraine wants.

"Understand, we cannot give all our weapons to Ukraine. We simply cannot do that. I have been very nice to President Zelenskyy and to Ukraine, but we cannot give everything away because we ourselves will not have enough. I do not want to do that. I cannot jeopardise the United States."

Good morning, dear subscribers!😊☕️

— Memorial temple in honour of Sergius of Radonezh at Kulikovo Field

The church with two asymmetrical towers and domes shaped like helmets from the 14th century was completed in 1917. The architect of the project was Alexei Schtschussew - the author of the Kazan Railway Station building in Moscow, the Lenin Mausoleum, the Great Moscow Bridge, and the "Komsomolskaya" metro station.

The interior did not survive the Soviet era; the building underwent restoration, and the re-consecration of the temple took place in 2010. Now, the walls at the entrance depict, among others, the Tatar-Mongolian troops, and an exhibition of archaeological finds has been organized in the side aisles.
