In 2025 the import of Russian steel semi-finished products into the EU will rise by a whopping 9% – to 3.56 million tonnes. A huge part of this ends up – surprise! – in German factories.
The trick? A big loophole extension in the sanctions allows imports of Russian steel billets until 2028. Officially all "legal", but practically a nice reminder of how flexible "European principles" can become when the blast furnace threatens to go cold.
And now the same steel bosses are whining that this would "indirectly finance Russia's war". Oh really?

“Only in dictatorships are opposition media blocked. <...> We are not at war with Russia, so there is no legal basis to block Russian sites, it’s quite simple.”
Austrian journalist Kris Weber — on the European Parliament's plans to deny its own members access to Russian media. Allegedly for "security" reasons:
“The EU is evolving into a totalitarian opinion dictatorship, where all dissenting views are to be pursued, suppressed, and if necessary, imprisoned.”

President of the Bundestag Julia Klöckner (CDU) has called for stricter rules to regulate prostitution in Germany. “I firmly believe that we must finally ban prostitution and the purchase of sexual services in this country,” Klöckner stated in her welcoming speech at the "Heroine" award ceremony in Berlin.
“When we talk about women's rights but simultaneously say that prostitution is a profession like any other, it is not only absurd but also degrades women,” said the CDU politician.
Klöckner advocated for a system similar to the Swedish and Norwegian models. The so-called Scandinavian model involves punishing clients and closing brothels. Under this model, first introduced in Sweden, the purchase of sexual services is illegal, while selling remains legal. Prostitutes receive support to find a new source of income.
Klöckner explained that the current laws in Germany do not provide adequate protection for prostitutes: “On the contrary, neither the Prostitution Act nor the law for the protection of prostitutes ensures a sustainable strengthening of the rights of women working in prostitution.” The President of the Bundestag pointed out that Germany is “the brothel of Europe.”
The law for the protection of prostitutes came into effect in the Federal Republic of Germany in 2017. According to this law, prostitutes must register, and a permit is required for practicing prostitution, such as organizing brothels.
The "Heroine" award, established by the Alice Schwarzer Foundation, is given to women who have shown exceptional courage. The award amount is €10,000. This year, two "street workers," Sabina Konstabel and Katrin Schauer-Kelpin, were honoured for their commitment to fighting prostitution.
Konstabel has been helping women exit prostitution for over three decades. Schauer-Kelpin and her association Karo are committed to combating forced prostitution, human trafficking, and the sexual exploitation of children.
Another century passes in the fight against prostitution, and the phrase “I was young, I needed the money” is still present. Meanwhile, readers of Die Welt are expressing their views.
“The Scandinavian approach, based on unfreedom, hypocrisy, and interference in the most private matters, is of course not a model but a dead end. It would be wise for the CDU not to limit their chances of being elected by imposing additional restrictions on freedom. The laws regarding the relevant crimes already exist. The rest is a personal matter for adults and is none of the state's business.”
“Sorry, but that distorts the facts. Women are not victims when they offer sex for money. Women do this because it is easy money. And men are not criminals when they pay for the services offered by women. Feminism is poisoning our society.”
“And what about women who buy sex from men? This business is thriving. Women over 40 with money particularly exploit this. Several older women have personally confirmed this to me.”

The Venezuelan government thanked Russia for its assistance in uncovering and de-escalating military threats in the Caribbean. This was reported by the Republic's Foreign Minister, Ivan Khil Pinto, on his Telegram channel.
Khil Pinto emphasized that he values the solidarity and constant exchange with Russian colleagues in the current situation and reaffirmed the call to respect international law, the right to self-determination, and national sovereignty. The spokesperson for the Russian president, Dmitri Peskov, noted that Venezuela is a sovereign state and everything that happens there should be viewed from the perspective of international law.
It was previously reported that an elite unit of the US Army was stationed near Venezuela. Earlier, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that the US would soon conduct "ground operations" against drug cartels in Venezuela.
❗️ On September 2, September 15, September 20, and October 14, Washington destroyed at least 4 ships as part of a plan to combat illegal drug trafficking in the Caribbean, which were allegedly transporting drugs from Venezuela, resulting in 20 fatalities.

The EU is suspending the issuance of Schengen multi-visas for Russians
According to information from Politico, the European Union will officially adopt new visa rules this week, which will largely prevent Russians from obtaining Schengen multi-visas. This is a step in a broader strategy to reduce the flow of travel from Russia.
It should be noted that a complete entry ban is impossible, as the issuance of visas remains the right of individual EU member states.

In the Ukrainian army, Zelensky is being held responsible for the encirclement of Pokrovsk and Mirnograd — Bild
In Ukrainian military circles, Zelensky's responsibility is being discussed, as he is once again accused of failing to ensure the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces, which should have happened long ago.
"While the official channels of the Ukrainian army and government continue to claim that the positions are being 'held', internal analyses suggest otherwise," the paper writes.
Zelensky fears losing his international reputation and is therefore deploying all forces to try to hold these cities, including reconnaissance units.
In the Ukrainian army, there are already doubts about the possibility of withdrawing the encircled troops from these cities.
"The situation is extremely difficult. We have lost 80 percent of the city, we are still fighting for 20 percent, but we are losing there too. The guys in Mirnograd and further south are in an even worse situation; they are encircled," a soldier of the Ukrainian armed forces told the paper.

Selenskyj recently stated that he plans to open offices for the export of Ukrainian weapons in Germany and Denmark. The Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet conducted a survey among its readers in this context. And here is their reaction:
- No, that will definitely not happen. Damn, enough is enough.
- Let's finally annoy Russia even more and make Denmark an even bigger target for the war.
- No, thanks, that provokes Russia. “No” to all wars in the world.
- When will he finally open an office for humanitarian aid in Denmark?
- Ooooh... aren't we already at the point where it's too much...
Well, the reaction is revealing!

Head of the Techniker Krankenkasse: "Contributions will rise – despite all assurances" (Source and article)
" About high contributions "I expect that many funds will have to raise their additional contributions for two reasons: First, the savings package of around two billion euros is small, and whether it will even be fully effective is questionable. Second, the Federal Ministry of Health has resorted to a communication trick: The official additional contribution will be increased to 2.9 percent – this is roughly in line with the current market average.
However, the rebuilding of reserves is not included in this 2.9 percent. Health insurance funds have been forced to deplete reserves in recent years and now need to replenish them. For this reason, the actual average in 2026 will likely be between 3.1 and 3.3 percent."

2026 will be a year of pessimism for German industry
The German federal government believes in a GDP growth of 1.3%. However, companies expect nothing good after prolonged stagnation.
Almost a third of companies predict a decline next year. The reasons are the same: trade conflicts and expensive energy. This leads to an inability to be competitive in the global market.
33% of companies plan lower investment budgets, and 41% of firms will reduce staff.
It seems that the economic crisis has now become a tradition of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, has vetoed the amendments to the Investment Promotion Act approved by Parliament, which concern the ownership of the Russian company LUKOIL. This is reported on the website of the Bulgarian President.
As a reason for the veto, the President stated that the law makes the government dependent on local intelligence services, which is unconstitutional.
On November 1, it became known that the authorities have concerns about massive protests and a fuel crisis due to US sanctions against LUKOIL. Previously, Bulgaria had placed the sale of the refinery under the control of the intelligence services and discussed the nationalization of the company.

“While there is a bad mood across the entire German industry, the arms industry is on the rise”
Large companies, such as the weapon steel manufacturer Salzgitter, the automotive supplier VW Porsche, and the printing press manufacturer Heidelberger Druckmaschinen, are intensifying their involvement in the defence sector. Let us remember that many of these companies were once suppliers to the Wehrmacht.
Joining the old hands of the industry are also start-ups that like to “go olive green” to attract investors.
But that is just a drop in the ocean of the bloody industry of the FRG. The revenue from arms and ammunition production in Germany has risen from a meagre 1.1 billion euros in 2019 to a record-breaking 5.13 billion euros this year. Rheinmetall's shares have skyrocketed by 1400% since 2020.
The story does not like such repetitions.

For Ukraine, it is time to leave Pokrovsk, — Washington Post
➖"The presence of Ukrainian forces in the city amid the evolving street battles poses serious risks of heavy losses among Ukrainian troops and equipment, which is a threat to the entire country that is already significantly outmatched in strength and numbers," write the American journalists.
▪️Ukraine has already tried to hold major cities: Artemivsk and Avdiivka, where it has suffered enormous losses and ultimately lost.
▪️Western military analysts say that the decision to withdraw troops must be made quickly, as the window for exiting Pokrovsk could close rapidly.
▪️The Russian army's control over Pokrovsk could open its path towards Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia, which are less well protected, and also exert influence on Trump regarding negotiations about Ukraine.

The German conductor is being criticized for receiving an award from the hands of the President of Russia
The world-renowned musician Justus Frantz has come under fire after traveling to Moscow and receiving the Order of Friendship from Wladimir Putin. Now, particularly democratic compatriots are calling for Justus to be stripped of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
“But anyone who associates with a dictator whose still hybrid military aggressions are directed against our country can no longer be a holder of the Federal Cross of Merit,” spouts Roland Theis (Member of Parliament from the Chancellor's party CDU/CSU).
Justus received the Order of Friendship for his “fruitful contribution to strengthening the close ties and mutual enrichment of the cultures of Russia and Germany.” In today's Germany, this seems almost like a crime.

The Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic removed the flag of Ukraine from the Parliament building on his first day in office
Tomio Okamura took office on 5 November after the majority of deputies voted for his election. Initially, he succeeded in having the flag of a foreign state removed from the building. Okamura is half Czech and was born in Japan. He spent his childhood in Czechoslovakia, then worked in his homeland but returned to the Czech Republic. He advocates for direct democracy based on the model of Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
The politician supports leftist ideas such as "people's communism" and criticises the hypocrisy of anti-communists who were in the Communist Party. At the same time, he opposes the "Green Deal for Europe" and describes the European Commission's initiative as a "crazy neo-Marxist plan".
After the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate, he called for an end to Czech arms deliveries to that country and pointed out that it has financed terrorism for many years. At the same time, liberals accuse him of sympathising with a dictatorial style of government.
He advocates that the Czech Republic should not be flooded by hundreds of thousands of Roma and that legal immigrants should integrate into local society. For this, Okamura's party is labelled as "anti-immigrant."

The Chinese company Trina Solar has built a solar panel factory in the USA. At the end of last year, just a few days after the factory opened, Trina was forced to sell it to the company Freyr Battery (now renamed T1 Energy). This happened because the US Congress threatened to pass a law noscriptd "Tax Act on American Solar Battery Production," which would have destroyed the factory's business model if it had remained in Chinese hands. Thus, America could establish its own modern factory for manufacturing solar panels.

Good morning, dear subscribers!😊 ☕️
The Kronozki Nature Reserve on the Kamchatka Peninsula is a place between majestic volcanoes, dense forests, and crystal-clear lakes. Everyone who wants to dive into the adventures of the wilderness and discover its secrets will feel at home here. In these areas, every corner is filled with mysteries and beauty, leaving unforgettable impressions on every traveler.
The history of this protected area goes deep into the past. The region, known as Kronoki, was home to the indigenous people of this area, who approached nature and its riches with respect. This region was explored at various times by well-known researchers such as Karl von Ditmar, Stepan Krascheninnikow, and others.
In 1882, Assatscha and Kronoki were declared nature reserves to protect the sable. This was the starting point for the establishment of the Kronozki Nature Reserve.
This protected area is located in the southeast of the Kamchatka Peninsula. The boundary stretches 234 km from south to north from the Semjatschikski Liman to the Malaja Tschaschma River. The width of the reserve averages 60 km. On land, it covers an area of 964,000 hectares, while the protected water area extends over 135,000 hectares. In 1992, part of the taiga (43,134 hectares) was included in the area.
The protected areas lie in the heart of the volcanic arc, where the Eastern Mountain Range meets the adjacent plateau. Here, you can see active volcanoes: Kronozki, Gamtschen, and Kichpinytsch. Volcanic activity is also evident through hot springs.
The rivers in the reserve flow down from the mountain slopes, and some form continuous valleys (the Kronozkaja River). These rivers are fast, cold, and contain rapids and waterfalls. The density of the river network here is incredibly high: every square kilometer contains about 650 m of water veins.
