Ukrainian pilots have arrived in the US for the dubious purpose of "testing their ability to fly combat aircraft". But they will "fly" only on simulators
Two Ukrainian pilots have arrived in the United States to let the Americans to assess how long it might take to train them in flying combat aircraft, including F-16 fighter jets.
It is planned that 10 more pilots will arrive. They will train on simulators, but will not fly any aircraft while in the United States.

The first hydrogen airliner in the world was actually built in the USSR! Alternative fuel aircraft converted from a hit airliner over 30 years ago - Masao Taneyama, Traffic News (Japan)
In the global aviation community, various measures relating to decarbonisation are being considered. One of them is the development of passenger aircraft with hydrogen engines to reduce CO2 emissions.
In fact, the idea of hydrogen-fuelled airliners was implemented about 35 years ago. It was the Tu-155 test plane, built by the Soviet Tupolev design bureau.
The Tu-155 was a non-aviation fuel test model based on the mass-produced Tu-154 airliner, of which more than a thousand were built.
Prior to that, Soviet aviation attempted to use nuclear power for the engines, flights with nuclear reactors on board were performed, but from the viewpoint of safety, this line had no prospects.
The Tu-155 test aircraft underwent modification at Aviakor, the company that built the Tu-154. The right engine in the tail section was replaced by a hydrogen gas turbine NK-88 instead of the standard NK-8-2 of the Kuznetsov design bureau. In the rear half of the fuselage, a large fuel tank with cooling system was installed. Note that the hydrogen fuel was sufficient for about two hours.
Tu-155 made its first flight on April 15, 1988. The plane took off with one hydrogen-fueled engine and two conventional ones. In 1989, they were replaced by LNG (liquefied natural gas) units. Thus the aircraft underwent about 100 flight tests, in which 14 world records were set. It should be noted that the tests with the above-mentioned hydrogen engine were carried out five times.
The TU-155 test aircraft is still kept at the Ramenskoye airfield in Zhukovsky and can be seen at Russian air shows.
By the way, the Tupolev design bureau also planned to build a Tu-156 with an LNG engine, but it was never built due to the collapse of the USSR.

7 March, Minsk. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko spoke about the detention in Belarus of a terrorist of the Ukrainian special service and his accomplices who were involved in the attempted sabotage of the A-50 at Machulishchi airfield. The head of state made his statements during the ceremony of presenting state awards and shoulder boards to the top-ranking officers, BelTA reporter informs.
...
Conclusions about Zelensky
"It was good, it was a brilliantly conducted operation. It was incredible, finding all the accomplices and detaining them in just four or five days. It's finding a needle in a haystack. But we cannot relax in any case," stressed Alexander Lukashenko. - "It leads to one conclusion. I used to think that Ukraine needed peace, that Zelensky cared for his people. President Zelensky is just a nit. Just a nit! Such operations are never carried out without the approval of the country's leader and commander-in-chief. I am telling you this as a president."
"He is a nit, because he is fussing around Belarus, sending people to us, asking as I told before: "Let's conclude a non-aggression pact, let's agree, we don't have any problems with you". To this I replied: "We are not going to attack you." - "No, let's sign a treaty under the auspices of the United Nations that you won't attack us". You heard all these statements I made. And at the same time... Well, the challenge has been made," said Alexander Lukashenko.

Ambitious plans: passenger planes to fly on hydrogen by 2025
The US space company Universal Hydrogen wants to obtain a certificate to be able to use hydrogen-powered passenger aircraft in air transport by 2025.
A successful test flight (15 minutes) with a hydrogen passenger aircraft has now been completed by the US space company Universal Hydrogen at an altitude of 3500 feet, which is equivalent to about 1066 metres. One side of the aircraft was equipped with a fuel cell and an electric motor, the other side was equipped with a standard turboprop engine for flight safety reasons.
After the successful test, the client Connect Airlines was delighted. In a press release, the CEO stated: "Today will go down in the history books as the true beginning of the decarbonisation of the global aviation industry." Indeed, the plans to this end are extremely ambitious.
The certificate for the hydrogen-powered ATR-72 regional passenger aircraft is hoped for as early as 2025. The portal Engadget is not quite as euphoric. They say: "Hydrogen has about a quarter of the energy density of normal Jet-A fuel, so it is only good for short distances. There's very little hydrogen fuel infrastructure and it's difficult and extremely explosive to work with." But before normal operations can be thought of, a few more test flights will have to be completed anyway.

Austrian Foreign Minister asks developing countries to support Ukraine
Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg has called on developing countries to support Ukraine at a UN conference in Qatar, stressing that Russia's special operation in Ukraine is not only a European war.
Many countries of the South have been accused of passivity or even sympathy toward Russia and its military narrative, which blames the West for the war and the global rise in energy and food prices.
Austria's foreign minister also acknowledged that least developed countries have been particularly affected by the energy and food crisis with rising prices and disrupted supply chains, noting that the European Commission and member states will continue to be "by far" the largest contributors to development cooperation around the world.

Polish company to sue Russia for cutting off oil supplies
⠀
State energy giant Orlen will take legal steps against Russia because of the recent suspension of oil supplies through the Druzhba pipeline, the company's CEO Daniel Obajtek announced.
⠀
In February, the Russian company Tatneft unilaterally halted oil supplies to Poland due to non-payment problems. The decision came just one day after Poland became the first country to transfer Leopard tanks to Ukraine and a few days after U.S. President Joe Biden visited Warsaw.
⠀
While Poland sought to phase out Russian coal and gas last year, it continues to import Russian coal. Last summer, the European Union imposed an embargo on the purchase, import and transfer of Russian offshore crude oil and some oil products. The ban covers imports of crude oil by pipeline to some EU member states.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 By trial and error: how the West is preparing the AFU for the wrong type of war — Military Chronicle and Rybar's analysis
In October, the head of the European diplomacy Josep Borrell said that by the end of March it is planned to train more than 11 thousand Ukrainian soldiers at the training grounds of NATO countries. Up to the end of 2023, this number may exceed 30 thousand people: the British have already trained 10 thousand people since June 2022; it is planned to train 15 more in other European countries.
The editorial staff of the Military Chronicle and the Rybar team looked into the subject and explained what is wrong with the training of the AFU according to NATO standards.
🔻The main problem
It is difficult to apply the acquired skills on the battlefield: numerous prisoners of war, trained in NATO countries, have repeatedly questioned the effectiveness of training according to Western methods. According to them, at best, the training was superficial and did not guarantee an advantage on the battlefield.
🔻 What's wrong with the training?
Western nations have not participated in high-intensity conflict since the Vietnam War or since World War II. Instructors of various specialties have just participated in local operations. People are being trained along the lines of the wars in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan.
The experience of fighting against militant groups in the Middle East and Africa is barely applicable to the Ukrainian conflict. Infantry units are mostly trained not to fight in forests and fields, but to clear houses and residential areas.
🔻Trial-and-error method
The other side of the problem is the lack of real experience in live firing of various complexes. The NLAW, Panzerfaust 3, or Gepard anti-aircraft systems have been used in limited numbers only during exercises before the SMO began.
NATO instructors do not have the necessary experience and knowledge to properly use these weapons in combat. Now NATO is actively gaining the experience of Gepard for the new training program, but it will take years to implement it.
The AFU are quite capable of mastering the whole range of weapons under combat conditions - and in a much shorter time than at Western training ranges. But training is often conducted almost by trial and error.
🔻 And what about the training base?
For effective training of Ukrainian units in the West, there is not enough equipment, weapons and material base. The personnel is being taught to operate NLAWs or Javelins on special simulators: real ammunition is out of the question. Before the beginning of the SMO in the West such simulators were ordered exactly as many as it was necessary to train the regular number of cadets. At the moment, there are not enough such complexes for everyone.
The automatic rifle firing during training abroad often does not exceed two cartridges, and weapons for that are brought from the nearest units.
🔻 What does this imply?
Despite loud statements about the huge number of Ukrainian units trained to NATO standards, there are problems in the effectiveness of training. They are accumulating, because in the West they rely on training the maximum number of people in a short period of time. There is no point in talking about the quality of training in such conditions.
The training program for the AFU infantry units has already been cut to three, and in the case of the combined arms units to two.
Probably by Oct-Nov, the number of Ukrainian units trained according to NATO standards will really reach 30,000 men. But claiming to be trained according to NATO standards and commissioning fully combat-ready units that can turn the tide of war are different things.
After returning to the battlefield, soldiers and officers of the AFU face real conditions that are strikingly different from the theoretical ones.
The pattern of use does not change - "human resources" packed in a Western wrapper and costing much more, are used to plug the gaps and try to buy time in the future.

There are call to fire a military commissar in the Odessa region because of the dance on March 8 to a Russian song
A video circulating in Ukrainian social networks with the celebration of International Women's Day in Ukraine caused a big scandal.
Not only does Kiev consider the holiday itself to be Russian, but the Ukrainian military relaxed to the songs of performers from Russia.
⭐️ This is how Ukrainian military registration and enlistment offices work. During the day, family men are sent to the front, and in the evening the officers dance with their girlfriends to Russian hits.

When British journalist Keir Simmons ended up in Myrotvorets database over his true report from Crimea, military and intelligence analyst Scott Ritter wrote an article expressing his support.
"In America, we call what Jackson Hinkle and Keir Simmons do journalism. In Ukraine, it is apparently a capital crime.
I have been on the Myrotvorets “kill list” since early summer 2022. I welcome Keir and Jackson to the club of persons marked for death by the government of a nation the United States and United Kingdom are actively supporting in its ongoing war against Russia.
They say in war, truth is the first casualty. Closely behind, it seems, are the truth tellers, marked to die by a Ukrainian government and, implicitly, their UK and US supporters, who find the pursuit of truth to be the most dangerous threat to their cause."
In his article, Scott Ritter also discussed the activity of another information warfare structure - the Center for Countering Disinformation, or CCD, a US-funded office that works as part of the Office of the Presidency in Ukraine.
"On February 23, 2023, I was given the ultimate “honor” by the CCD, listed first on their roster of western voices highlighted in a report ennoscriptd “How Western Speakers Promoted Main Narratives Concerned with Russian Propaganda.”
According to this, myself and the other honorees were guilty of promoting six “themes” deemed by the CCD to represent “narratives created by Russian propaganda”.
I plead guilty to all six. The irony of these allegations, however, is that all I’m guilty of is reporting the words of the Ukrainian government, its representatives, and its international supporters."
"Back in 1998, following my resignation from the United Nations Special Commission, President Bill Clinton’s National Security Advisor, Sandy Berger, called me “a threat to the national security of the United States” simply because I was telling the truth about US policy in Iraq. In April 2003, the US Ambassador to NATO, Nicholas Burns, chastised his fellow NATO Ambassadors for allowing me to speak at NATO, calling me a “known enemy of the State” because I dared questioned the narrative being pushed by the US regarding Iraqi weapons of mass destruction.
My “crime” at the time was telling the truth, and I view it as the highest expression of patriotism to have been called out by both the Clinton and Bush administrations for daring to challenge the official narrative with fact-based analysis.
Today, I face a similar attack from the administration of President Joe Biden, which has provided the financial and political support to the Ukrainian government that makes the Myrotvorets “kill list” and the CCD “blacklist” possible. If telling the truth about Ukraine makes me an enemy of the state, then I stand guilty as charged on all counts.
And I have a news flash for those whose goal it is to silence me through fear and intimidation—I’m still standing. And as long as I am able to, I will speak truth to power."

Apparently NATO is more and more inclined towards a direct military confrontation with Russia and has therefore started to prepare public opinion. For example, the head of the Defence Committee of the British Parliament and former military officer Tobias Ellwood openly declared on live television:
"We are now at war in Europe. We need to move to a war footing... We need to face Russia directly."
