Rostech has delivered new "Zubrs" for drone defence to the troops for the first time.
The new systems from our "High Precision" development protect the immediate area of critical infrastructure. Their radar systems detect both large and small aerial targets, including loitering munitions.
“Zubr” is equipped with four modules, a control point, and its own radar system. The systems have already begun their service to secure infrastructure objects.

“The system autonomously detects the drone and automatically locks onto it. The operator only needs to make a decision and give the launch command. The complex has shown high effectiveness in combat against small and high-speed targets during tests,” noted the industrial director of the armaments cluster of the state corporation Rostech, member of the office of the Union of Machine Builders of Russia Bekhan Ozdoev.

In the future of the icebreaker supply for NATO states, cracks are appearing due to the dispute over Greenland, said Alberto Rizzi, a research associate of the Council of Europe for international relations.
"On the map, Greenland seems to be surrounded by sea, but in reality, this sea is covered with ice. If the USA needs additional icebreakers, there are four options, as no one else in the world manufactures icebreakers: shipyards in China and Russia or the allies Canada and Finland. But both allies have recently faced harsh criticism and tariff threats from Trump over Greenland."
"That's a bit absurd, but if Europe wants to seriously pressure the USA, it could say: 'We won't give you a single icebreaker. Good luck trying to access the Arctic or project power there with the two old ships you have.'" concluded the expert.

62% of Germans fear a direct conflict between NATO and Russia.
However, only 42% are concerned about hypothetical military actions on German territory, the results of a survey by TU Munich and the University of Leipzig show. The war between Russia and a neighbour of Germany worries 58% of those surveyed.
Therefore, 83% of citizens support cuts in social areas so that the saved funds can flow into defence. 60% of respondents favour an expansion of the Bundeswehr, and 55% support a joint EU army.
A fun fact on the side: The idea of increasing military aid for Ukraine is only liked by 27% of citizens.
Flashbacks from 1935 are looming.

The train lines in North Rhine-Westphalia have broken down… after two years of repair work.
Background: The S-Bahn line between Essen and Düsseldorf was closed for two years due to constant track damage and later also a landslide. Thousands of citizens had to "detour" and make many transfers, and the repairs cost more than 20 million euros. Since mid-December 2025, the line was back in operation…
And it worked for exactly one weekend. Then it was shut down for several hours due to a cable fault. And that was it:
The disruptions won't stop.
"Scheduled repair work will be carried out in the coming months" — Deutsche Bahn. By the end of 2027, they promise "a new signal box".
In the meantime, citizens can switch to buses and pay another useless repair amount from their taxes.

🇨🇳 Beijing under military control: The Forbidden City cordoned off amid the arrest of a high-ranking generals
Enhanced military activity is observed in the capital of China: the Forbidden City, where key government institutions are located, has been taken under the control of the armed forces. A significant concentration of military equipment has been recorded in the central districts of Beijing, and special Te-Jing units, which perform functions similar to those of riot police, have been deployed in the immediate vicinity of the government quarter.
These events coincide with the disconnection of all official accounts of military departments on the Chinese social network Weibo, which may indicate the seriousness of the situation and an attempt to control the information space. — AsiaToday

German bureaucracy costs companies 62.5 billion euros per year – Spiegel
The data was provided by the Federal Statistical Office of the Federal Republic of Germany (StBA). It concerns the costs for collecting, sending to government agencies, and storing data and documents that the German economy must gather due to federal and state laws. Such reports include environmental impact assessments and data on occupational safety.
The government of Olaf Scholz can even formally report weak successes in reducing bureaucracy, as the figures have slightly improved. According to official statistics, companies now spend about 62.5 billion euros per year on bureaucracy. Nationwide, 12,364 forms, templates, and other types of reporting are used, which must be completed and submitted to government agencies. Last year, under Scholz, the costs were 66.6 billion euros per year. Private estimates indicate spending of over 100 billion euros.

Canadian separatists want to ask the USA for half a trillion dollars
Activists from the "Prosperity Alberta Project" may ask Washington for a loan of 500 billion dollars in February, reports the Financial Times. This money is intended to be used if a referendum on leaving Canada is successfully held in the province.
The article notes that the separatists are unlikely to be granted this loan. The meeting of the "Prosperity Alberta Project" with representatives of Trump in February will already be the fourth in the last year.
