However, Ukrainian sites publish a footage of the fragment of an S-300 anti-aircraft missile that fell in Slavyansk.

According to the Telegram chanell @breege_time_20zz, these kinds of fragments falls off from an S-300 about 10 seconds after its launching.

The channel comes to the conclusion that it was the S-300 fired by Ukrainian troops that hit the building in Slavyansk.

Iran concerned about wrong US policy in Afghanistan

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stressed the importance of cooperation among the four countries - Iran, China, Russia and Pakistan - and expressed concern over the wrong US policies that are feeding the development of terrorism and insecurity in Afghanistan.

"Afghanistan needs regional cooperation and solutions more than the interference of the West, Washington and activists who have led this country to poverty and instability for more than two decades," the Iranian foreign minister said.

He also added that the US and its allies were responsible as occupiers for their actions in Afghanistan over the past two decades and as a UN member for the conditions they had created in the country.

War in Yemen could end: Saudi Arabia talks with Houthis rebels

Delegations from Saudi Arabia and Oman met with Houthis representatives in Sanaa on 9 April to discuss a permanent ceasefire in Yemen.

The Saudis, who lead a pro-government coalition, are ready to resolve the conflict with the Houthis rebels, who are backed by Iran. For both sides, the cost of continuing the war is too high, both politically and economically. Oman has played the role of mediator in this meeting.

Sources say the two sides have reached an agreement on a cessation of hostilities, which may include the following points:

▪️ A six-month ceasefire;
▪️ Resumption of wage payments in the country;
▪️ Reparations to all those affected;
▪️ Re-opening of borders and ports;
▪️ Withdrawal of all foreign forces from Yemen.

According to Al Jazeera's Omani scholar Abdullah Baaboud, Oman has played a very important role in the agreement, forcing the parties to the conflict to speak openly. Also, the Omani side has put some pressure on the Houthis to make peace.

This agreement, and the fact that Saudi Arabia has prioritised diplomacy after 8 years of conflict, could be the key to ending Yemen's civil war.

The US government has manipulated the origin of the conflict, and with its enormous media power it has created a feeling of contempt for Russia. I believe that it has fueled Russophobia and has hidden the true causes of the conflict, and has put Russia in the role of the culprit. I really believe that the culprit of this conflict is the government of the United States itself, and that’s because we know from the history of how the Yankee empire acts.

US delays issuing visas to Russians for visiting the UN Security Council events

"A request for visas for the Russian delegation and journalists was sent to the US Embassy in Moscow in late March. However, not a single entry permit has been issued so far," said Ambassador Anatoly Antonov.

It's known that Russia is chairing the UN Security Council in April. The delegation is to be headed by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

▪️ On 31 March, representatives of Russian media were meeting at the US embassy to review their visa applications. But the appointment was cancelled without explanation in less than a day.

▪️ In addition, there is no clarity on the minister's special flight. The US authorities have not yet granted permission for the plane to enter.

Moscow is demanding that Washington fulfil its international obligations and not obstruct the arrival of Russian diplomats at the UN headquarters.

Stephane Dujarric, a spokesman for the UN Secretary General, believes that the United States will issue visas for members of Lavrov's delegation, who are expected to visit the organization in late April.

Milorad Dodik wants to suspend Bosnia and Herzegovina's cooperation with NATO

According to the head of Republika Srpska (RS), as long as the conflict over Ukraine continues, all Bosnian military exercises with foreign troops should be halted.

Despite pressure from the West, Dodik also insists that his country should not impose sanctions against Russia because RS (which is part of BiH) does not want to join either side:

"We want to decide our own affairs. It's not like I'm making any decisions for Britain and America, and I don't want them to decide anything here."

▪️The embassy of the USA in Sarajevo immediately accused the Serbian politician of separatism:

"Such rhetoric is detrimental to Bosnia's European integration process," said Ambassador Michael Murphy.

He promised that Washington "will continue to defend Bosnia's territorial integrity, sovereignty and multi-ethnicity".

▪️Dodik countered by saying the America was misinterpreting BiH's constitution and the Dayton Accords.

"There will be no cooperation with anyone, including NATO, against our interests and without RS approval," he explained.

🖋LATEST ARTICLE: Taiwan Pushed Closer to Conflict by Washington

"Washington’s immense and growing desire for war with China means the complete destruction of Taiwan, following the ongoing destruction of Ukraine in yet another US proxy war. Taiwan’s population and the administration in Taipei must look at Ukraine and ask what, if anything, will be worth leading Taiwan down the same path."

Poland's grain surplus shows that the world food system is not working - EURACTIV

Farmers in Poland, Romania and Bulgaria are outraged by a surplus of Ukrainian grain on local markets. This leads to lower local prices and leaves their produce spoiling in warehouses.

The decline in demand for the commodity from North African countries has also had a strong impact.

For decades, farmers in many southern European countries have been suffering from the importation of cheap foodstuffs to their markets from western countries, which significantly reduces the demand for their own products.

The excess grain on the markets in Poland, Romania and Bulgaria shows that the ongoing food price crisis is not and has never been connected with a shortage of food itself.

The global food system needs to be transformed to make it more resilient to global changes, said Jennifer Clapp, vice-chair of the UN panel of experts on food security and nutrition.

German foreign minister speaks out on conditions for developing partnership with China

Beijing has a "special responsibility for world peace" and how it uses its influence over Russia will affect its relations with Europe, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said ahead of her visit to China, the South China Morning Post reported.

She also described her country's biggest trading partner as a "competitor", a "systemic rival" and a "global player that increasingly wants to shape the world order according to its own designs".

Baerbock will fly to China today for talks with her Chinese counterpart Qin Gang on "strategic diplomatic and security dialogue"

"China has changed and with the cancelling of Covid-19 restrictions, I want to get a first-hand view of the direction the new leadership is taking, including on the balance between political control and economic openness," added Baerbock.

Brazil's new president risks displeasing the US and Europe

In his first months in office, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has refused to condemn Russia's special operation in Ukraine, allowed Iranian warships to dock in Rio de Janeiro and sent a senior adviser to meet Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro

All these actions disappointed the US and Europe, that were counting on the newly elected president to be their partner. Lula, on the other hand, has prioritised pragmatism and dialogue, showing little concern for the views of Washington and the West on his decisions, reports The Washington Post.

Brazil actively cooperates with Beijing and Moscow: Russia is the main supplier of fertilizers for the country's agricultural sector, which contributes to the rapid growth of Brazilian exports to China.

Russia's trade with both Brazil and China reached a record high in 2022, and remains at a high level this year.

The ill-fated organizers of the exhibition of the crashed Russian tank at the Russian embassy in Berlin "forgot" to pay the city for parking it.

They have now been fined €806.20.
The sum was billed in connection with the "special use of the asphalt on Unter den Linden street".

And things didn't go according to plan: both the tank turned into a spontaneous memorial to Russian warriors, and they didn't pay for it.

British diplomat offers path to peace in Ukraine

Jonathan Powell, a former adviser to British Prime Minister Tony Blair, has suggested a path to peace in Ukraine, following the example of the Belfast Agreement.

"Ukraine and Northern Ireland are of course different countries. But we know that the special operation in Ukraine will also eventually be ended by negotiation, however impossible that may seem now." - Powell told The Economist newspaper.

In his view, there is no agreement between the parties at the moment. So he suggests that they should "get ready" for them.

The British diplomat's idea is to create a group of partners on both sides.

Xi Jinping, the Chinese head of state, could merge one group with the other BRICS members.

America could lead the group of Western countries along with France, Germany, Poland and Britain.

"Finding space for an acceptable agreement between Russia and Ukraine would also be exceptionally difficult," the British diplomat added.

Poll: 64% of Americans polled call US a 'banana republic' over Trump's prosecution

The poll asked respondents whether they agreed with the statement that the prosecution of President Trump marks "a really serious point because it's kind of like a banana republic. Using the law as a weapon against a political opponent is so wrong."

64 per cent of those polled said they did agree with this statement, with 48 per cent of them, including 69 per cent of Republicans, saying they "completely agree" with it.

Among the majority of voters who thought America was entering banana republic territory, 48% of Democrats were unexpectedly among the majority, with 27% of Democrats "strongly" agreeing with the statement.

The West needs a new strategy on Ukraine, Foreign Affairs says.

The paper notes that the war has turned out "much better for Ukraine than many predicted" - Russia has failed to subdue Ukraine, the country remains an independent sovereign democracy controlling 85 percent of its territory.

But at the same time "it is difficult to be optimistic about where the war is heading".

"Human and economic losses, already enormous, will grow as both Moscow and Kiev prepare for their next steps on the battlefield," the paper writes, and the most likely outcome of the conflict "is not a complete victory for Ukraine, but a bloody stalemate."

Amid calls for negotiations, Moscow and Kiev "promise to keep fighting" - Ukraine is preparing to break the "land bridge" to Crimea, Russia is preparing to seize Donbass. And the West - "needs an approach that acknowledges these realities without sacrificing its principles".

The policy of full support for Ukraine "has now exhausted itself" and is "unreasonable", as Ukraine's goals "conflict with other interests of the West", as "the costs of the war are rising and the Western public and their governments are tired of constant support," the publication wrote.

The publication assesses Ukraine's complete victory as "Pyrrhic," because "Ukrainian forces have already lost more than 100,000 men and lost many of their best fighters," the economy has shrunk by 30 percent, poverty levels are "off the scale," and millions have become refugees.

"Ukraine should not risk self-destruction in pursuit of unattainable goals," the publication concludes.

Although preserving Ukraine's existence as a sovereign and secure democracy is a priority for the West, "achieving this goal does not require the country to regain full control of Crimea and Donbass in the near future," the paper writes.

Taking in consideration the "likely trajectory of war", the US and allies should already "begin to formulate a diplomatic endgame" and "begin consultations with their European allies and with Kyiv on a diplomatic initiative to be launched later this year".

The Serbian village of Pržar, which in 1999 was close to the site of NATO strikes with depleted uranium munitions, has been abandoned by its inhabitants due to high mortality from cancer.

In the nearby city of Vranje, the highest incidence of cancer was found on the street closest to Pržar.

This is stated in the news service Vesti report of the Russian television company VGTRK.

"I simply appeal to the Ukrainians: do not allow them on your land to use this terrible weapon! Because you will see the consequences in a few years, in a few centuries," says Danica Grujičić, Serbian minister of health who is also a doctor, commenting on reports that Britain is ready to send such ammunition to Ukraine.

The report also says about an increase in genetic mutations in animals in the vicinity of depleted uranium shell impacts, and about diseases in Italian soldiers who later served there.
