G7 Statement on Support for Ukraine

The essence of this statement boils down to the fact that Russia is to blame for everything, especially in the energy and food crisis. Russia steals Ukrainian agricultural products and does not allow them to be exported. Purposefully bombs schools and children, kills doctors, causes violence to gays and lesbians, provokes a humanitarian crisis. So, Russian assets must be expropriated in support of Ukraine!

Key points:

▪️We (the collective west) will continue to provide financial, humanitarian, military and diplomatic support to Ukraine for as long as it takes

▪️The war in Ukraine constitutes a blatant violation of international law, in particular a grave breach of the United Nations Charter. It seriously undermines the international rules-based system that underpins global peace, prosperity, and security.

▪️Russia must put an end to this war of choice, and immediately, unconditionally cease all hostilities and withdraw its troops and military equipment from the entire territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders.

▪️We express serious concern after the announcement by Russia that it could transfer missiles with nuclear capabilities to Belarus.

▪️We will continue to coordinate efforts to meet Ukraine’s urgent requirements for military and defence equipment will be countinue. We will also continue to coordinate to provide Ukraine with the material, training and logistics, intelligence, and economic support to build up its armed forces.

▪️There can be no impunity for war crimes and other atrocities. We condemn in the strongest terms ongoing attacks on civilians and noncombatants, the systematic targeting of critical infrastructure, schools and kindergartens, healthcare personnel and facilities, as well as conflict-related sexual and gender-based violence in Ukraine. We further condemn the deliberate targeting of Ukrainian cultural sites and regard the destruction of Ukrainian heritage by Russian forces – and suppression of the Ukrainian language and media in areas illegally occupied by Russia – as an attempt to wipe out Ukraine’s history and cultural identity.

▪️Russia bears enormous responsibility for rising threats to global food security as a result of the conflict. Russia’s unprovoked assault on Ukraine – marked by bombing, blockades, and theft – has severely prevented Ukraine from exporting its agricultural products and is hampering its production capacity, leading to steep price rises and increasing global food insecurity for millions, especially those most vulnerable, such as women and children.

▪️We are committed to sustaining and intensifying international economic and political pressure on President Putin’s regime and its enablers in Belarus, depriving Russia of the economic means to persist in its war of aggression against Ukraine, and we will continue our targeted use of coordinated sanctions for as long as necessary

▪️We will continue to explore new ways to isolate Russia from participating in the global market and crack down on evasion. We are determined to reduce Russia’s revenues, including from gold. We will also continue to target evasion and backfilling activities. We will further reduce Russia’s export revenues by taking appropriate steps to further reduce dependency on Russian energy.

▪️As of today we are ready to grant, or have pledged and provided up to USD 29.5 billion of budget support in 2022 to help Ukraine. Overall, this support is urgently needed and comes on top of the economic support provided since 2014 until 2021, which exceeds USD 60 billion.

▪️We will also explore other viable options to support Ukraine’s humanitarian needs, early recovery, and reconstruction, including using frozen Russian assets consistent with our national laws

Arghhh... Scoundrels, liars, hypocrites 😡 Sick of them

🏳️‍🌈 According to the NATO summit.

1. The NATO Secretary General said that the Russian Federation and China openly challenge the "rules-based world order", forgetting to add that we are talking about American rules that they follow when they want, and don't follow when they want. This world order has indeed come to an end.

2. The US will increase its military presence in Europe by permanently locating a corps headquarters in Poland, sending up to 20,000 personnel, 2 fighter squadrons and 2 additional destroyers to be permanently deployed. The military presence in the Baltic States, Poland and Romania will be increased.

3. Finland and Sweden are promised to be accepted into NATO very quickly, literally today, and they are threatened with further approach of NATO to the borders of Russia. Actually, what they have been doing since the beginning of the 90s, when the betrayal of the name of Yeltsin and Gorbachev allowed them to start this process. Now we are watching its finalization.

UK plans to cut pipelines to EU if Russia gas crisis intensifies

The UK will cut off gas supplies to mainland Europe if it is hit by severe shortages under an emergency plan that energy companies warn risks exacerbating a crisis on the continent.

A cut off of so-called interconnector pipelines would be among the early measures under the UK’s emergency gas plan, which could be triggered by National Grid if supplies fall short in the coming months.

European gas companies have appealed to the UK to work with the EU and warned that shutting off interconnectors could backfire if prolonged shortages occur. Britain imports large volumes of gas from the continent at the height of winter.

Ukrainian pilots criticized the American MQ-1C Gray Eagle attack drones and the Turkish TB-2 Bayraktars. They believe that the former are dangerous to use, while the latter are practically useless.

Officials who wished to remain anonymous reported the publication that the issue of the use of drones made a split between front-line pilots and the chief of staff. Officials – and not only Ukrainian, but also American – are very worried that Russian air defense systems are shooting down Gray Eagle.

“It is very dangerous to use such expensive drones in our case because of the enemy’s air defense. This is not Afghanistan”, one of the front-line Ukrainian pilots told Foreign Policy.

Meanwhile, in a situation where Russian air defense has become even stronger, the pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to use Turkish drones less – it is believed that in such conditions they have become “almost useless”. Bayraktars now only fly on rare attacks and special operations.

It is important to have respect for the Ukrainian people, as the Russians are closely connected with them by history, culture and kinship, said Dmitry Medvedev.

“The Ukrainians have had a hard time in recent years. In addition to economic hardships, the Orange and other Maidan demonstrations, a shuffle of random and strange figures in the presidency, and constant attempts by the West to turn Ukrainians into obedient servants,” Medvedev said.

The deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation expressed his confidence that Ukrainians will overcome all these trials and will be able to build a strong democracy in their country and ensure a better future for themselves.

Let's talk about the Space Race.

As most of you know, back during the cold war, when America at least admitted it was centered around itself and the USSR was still a thing with Brezhnev kissing men on the lips, they both entered into a "friendly competition" in space.

It was one of the largest scientific achievements in history, so much advancements in science and technology, which, started by the ego of a nation, became one that was for the supposed betterment of mankind.

The problem is, who won?

Most "Historians" agree that America "won" the race when it sent a man to the moon, which, while not a small feat by itself, was not enough to win the race in my opinion.

The USSR sent the first man, woman, dog, you name it, to space, it made the first space station, the first rotation, the first satellite, in short, alot more achievements and marks by the USSR than America, who's sole win during this whole race was "we sent a man to the moon."

Overall, the USSR probably won the space race, because it simply achieved more than what the USA did in the race.

But let's not forget, the USSR is the one that ceased to exist, the USA still does, and we all know history is written by victors.
Bernie Ecclestone: "I'd take a bullet for Vladimir Putin"

Mr Ecclestone, the former Formula 1 boss, was asked on ITV's Good Morning Britain if he still regards Mr Putin as a friend and he replied: "I'd still take a bullet for him. I'd rather it didn't hurt, but if it does I'd still take a bullet, because he's a first-class person."

"What he's doing is something that he believed was the right thing he was doing for Russia." - Mr Ecclestone added. Meanwhile he mocked Zelensky calling him a comedian.

Apparently, the show's hosts didn't like Ecclestone's comments. The photos of Putin shown on the air were hastily blurred.

🇹🇷🇸🇪🇫🇮In Turkish Diplomacy news, Ankara is not yet done with demands, it seems.

As per Erdogan, the Turkey parliament will not consider approval for NATO membership from Swedish & Finnish if they do not fulfill their demands to extradite Swedish & Finnish nationals of Kurdish extraction they accuse of terrorism.

That would mean a revision of their legal codes to allow for such extradition, and of course, debate on whether those people are actually terrorists or just opponents of Mr. Erdogan, debates which will roil Swedish politics for a long time to come if they abase themselves to do this.

The Washington Post has released a dramatic reportage of Ukrainian forces retreat from Severodonetsk and Lisichansk. It looks like western people are not interested in war in Ukraine anymore, so newsrooms have switched to the Hollywood film style to catch audience attention somehow.
