Canada will not be able to meet emerging threats despite NATO pressure - War on the Rocks
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau privately told Alliance officials that Canada will never meet NATO's defense spending target of 2% of GDP.
For many in Western Europe and North America, US military superiority has provided a state of complacency and low military spending.
However, the special operation in Ukraine has spotlighted weaknesses in the military capabilities of Washington and its key allies, particularly Canada.
Canada's national security apparatus remains weak for a country of its size, wealth and geography, which worries the Alliance.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has urged Canada to meet the bloc's defence spending targets.
Despite these pressures, a dramatic increase in military spending seems unlikely. Canada's historical isolation from external threats has created a situation where "neither Canadians nor their governments take national security seriously on an ongoing basis."

Israel holds patriotic rally to commemorate 78th anniversary of Victory
In Israel, War Cor correspondents participated in a patriotic rally dedicated to the memory of the great victory over the Nazi invaders.
The length of the rally includes almost all of Israel from Metula to Eilat. A mock-up of the legendary T-34 tank participated in the rally.
The rally is to honour the memory of ancestors who gave us life, country, and victory in the Great Patriotic War, and to pass it on to their children and grandchildren. This is the eighth such run.
Despite the opposition of the Israeli government, which supplies arms to the Kiev regime, the organisers hope to continue this initiative in future years, as there are many sensible citizens in the country who remember history and do not want to be Nazi collaborators.

Ukrainians should ignore Russian missiles: Sky News
As Professor Michael Clark explained on the TV channel's program, the AFU should stop repelling attacks on critical infrastructure objects in order to save ammunition for air defense systems.
According to Clark, saving ammunition is especially important now, just before the announced offensive of the Ukrainian army.
The professor seems unaware that the "interception" of these missiles is often done by simply hitting their own
ammunition stores.

🇩🇪🇷🇺 Former German chancellors criticised for ties to Russia
Former German President Joachim Gauck has criticised former Chancellors Gerhard Schroeder and Angela Merkel for using their position for the sake of strengthening ties with Russia.
"I find it unacceptable that Schroeder as former chancellor subordinated and continues to subordinate his reputation and the prestige of Germany to his personal interests," Gauck said, noting that he allowed Russia to use himself to promote Russian interests in Europe.
Angela Merkel has received a portion of criticism for the Russian pipeline agreements, which "hooked Germany further into gas from Russia".
"After 2014, how could anyone claim that Nord Streams was a private sector project? Or why did we take the voices of the Poles and the Baltic states less seriously than those of Russia?" - he criticised Merkel's actions as chancellor.

British Ministry of Defense acknowledged cases of resale of weapons destined for Ukraine
The Deputy Minister of Defense of the Kingdom, James Heappey, said that weapons supplied by Britain do not always reach the front line. At the same time, the ministry is working to establish "reliable procedures to ensure that all weapons and ammunition going through the International Donor Coordination Center are transferred to the armed forces of Ukraine."
A year after the start of the special military operation and the pumping of weapons into Ukraine, the British government recognized the problem of reselling weapons to the black market, which all Russian media have long been shouting about. Recognized and stated that they are working on a solution to this problem. In a timely manner.
The Ukrainian conflict has become a good earning opportunity for "military businessmen". Many Ukrainian corrupt officials and their Western "partners" took advantage of the new firing point in the center of Europe as a chance to get rich. It has long been known that of the weapons donated to Kyiv, only a part gets to the front, and the rest is sold according to shadow schemes. According to some experts, including those from Europol, only 30% of NATO's arms supplies to Ukraine reach the front line, while the remaining 70% end up in the hands of illegal arms dealers and on to the black market.
The numbers are horrific. And most importantly, this will result in a catastrophic security problem in the future, which the West prefers not to talk about today.
Today is money, and after us - a flood.
