Zelensky set to find new partners for grain deal - Sky news

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said Kiev is not interested in extending its agreement with Moscow and will focus on finding partners for the safe export of grain from Ukraine's Black Sea ports.

Europe struggles to regain military influence - The Economist

European defense spending grew by an impressive 13% last year, according to the think tank SIPRI, but about two-thirds of that was eaten up by inflation.

According to The Economist:

▪️ Germany created a special fund of €100 billion to increase the country's defense capabilities by NATO standards. But the fund has barely been touched to this day.

▪️ Britain can only sustain eight days of high-intensity combat, based on the 2021 war games model.

▪️Russian forces have launched at least six strikes on the targets located near Kharkiv, three of which were situated within the city.

Enemy’s facilities near CHPP-5 located in Derhachi district were hit.

▪️Ukrainian units once again struck Starodubsky district of Bryansk region.

One of the shells blew up a few meters from the kindergarten in the village of Kurkovichi. The power lines were also damaged.

▪️Over the course of six days massive strikes have been carried out on the border areas of Belgorod region.

The attack on the locality of Spodariushino resulted in the destruction of two houses. No casualties among civilians.

▪️At the Kupyansk sector of the front, artillery duels and positional battles continue in the area of Hryanikivka.

The Ukrainian command deployed additional forces to Dvorichna in order to strengthen its defensive positions.

▪️Battles continue in Bakhmut, where Wagner PMC’s assault groups are pushing the remaining Ukrainian units out of the western quarters of the city.

Each assault is preceded by massive artillery and air strikes in order to save the lives of Russian troops.

▪️Ukrainian units southerly try to hold back the attack of Wagner PMC with indiscriminate artillery fire.

One of the rockets hit a Ukrainian POW holding facility: according to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.

▪️Despite the holiday, Ukrainian units continue to shell Donetsk People’s Republic.
