White House runs out of money to support Ukraine
Politico reports that about $6 billion remains in the $48 billion aid package for Ukraine that the U.S. Congress approved in December, meaning that funding for arms shipments could end by mid-summer.
The Pentagon is assessing how to spend the remaining money and continues to consider options "as the situation evolves to support successes on the battlefield during new offensive operations in the spring", Lt. Col. Garron Gern, a spokesman for the agency, said.
Any White House proposal for new arms shipments that could be made in late summer would be met with fierce opposition from a small but active group of Republican senators who want to cut spending on Ukraine.

On the destruction of the Patriot air defense system in Kiev
Last night, the Russian Armed Forces destroyed at least one Patriot surface-to-air missile launcher in Kiev. Rybar's team managed to investigate the exact location of the anti-aircraft battery. At least two of the launchers were located at Zhulyany airfield, where the "Kinzhal" hit.

Another place where the work of the Ukrainian air defense system was seen was in the vicinity of the Kiev zoo, where debris from the fired SAMs fell. The complex itself operated in the vicinity of the Kiev Sikorsky Polytechnic University.

As for the Zhulyany airfield, surveillance camera footage was released to the Net. The video clearly shows 32 missile launches (a total of 16 for each launcher), as well as the work of anti-aircraft artillery - apparently, the Patriots were covered by the Gepard air defense system.
After the ammunition was used up, there was an explosion: the Russian Kinzhal* (* Dagger) managed to hit the position despite two Patriots and one Gepard.
Taking into consideration the information, appearing on CNN about the damage of the complex, if not the destruction, then at least the partial disabling of the American SAMs can be considered as a fait accompli. There is one more interesting detail: the appearance of the persistent rumor that the operators of the SAM system might have deliberately emptied all the ammunition in order to shorten the explosive range.
That is, according to this version, they knew about the flying "Dagger" and on purpose used up the ammunition to reduce the force of the subsequent detonation. Alas, we will not know how it was in reality.
But we clearly see that the Patriot is not a super-weapon, and it can and should be hit. Neither is the Gepard SAM, which for the second time failed to cover the air defense positioning area from Russian weapons.
