Despite the war, Ukraine allows Russian oil and gas to cross its territory, the Washington Post has said.
By calling on other countries to cut economic ties with Russia, Kiev is leaving itself the opportunity to continue benefiting from transit, the paper says.
According to the article, the "action plan" recently presented by Bankova's Ermak-Makfol group proposes additional sanctions to be taken by the West against Russia.
"But the plan specifically mentioned preserving the transit of Russian energy resources through the Ukraine territory," the newspaper said. "Stop direct deliveries of Russian gas to the EU, except through Ukraine," the document says.
"Ukrainian officials say they are between a rock and a hard place. Russian hydrocarbons passing through their territory bring the Kremlin millions of dollars and help fund its war machine. But Kiev also needs the money it earns from the transit," the article says.
"Surreal as it may seem, Ukraine insists it has little choice but to maintain its own trade deals and is lobbying to keep them," writes WP.

Josep Borrell said that membership in the EU and friendship with Russia are incompatible
At the meeting of foreign ministers of the EU member-states the head of Eurodiplomacy emphasized that the list of candidates for EU membership includes five Balkan countries, but not all of them are in solidarity with the association's policy against Moscow.
For example, Borrell noted, in particular, that Serbia's close ties with Russia are detrimental to Belgrade.

Poland urged to prepare for military coup in Belarus
Former Polish deputy defence minister Waldemar Skrzyczak said Poland should be ready to provide military support to the "rebels".
"We must be ready to support the forces that will carry out operations against Lukashenko. We have reasons to help them, just as we are helping the Ukrainians," Skrzyczczak said.
The Western countries are 'professional helpers'. We can see where Western support has brought Ukraine.

Mixed Martial Arts fighter Jeff Monson renounced his U.S. citizenship and surrendered his U.S. passport to the consulate in Istanbul. Monson told TASS on Tuesday.
"I surrendered my American passport to the U.S. consulate in Istanbul. I gave up my U.S. citizenship because of the politics of this country. All my thoughts and my future are connected only with Russia," Monson said.
"Now I am no longer an American, I am only a Russian," the athlete added.

Georgia’s annual trade turnover with Russia is “less than $1bn”, Irakli Garibashvili said at the Qatar Economic Forum today.
“This is ridiculous, isn’t it? That $1bn could not affect the Russian economy. By comparison: The European Union trades with Russia in just four days, as much as we trade in a year. Where is the logic when we are called to introduce sanctions against Russia?”

▪️In the Black Sea neutral waters, the Russian Ivan Khurs reconnaissance ship was attacked by three marine drones.
All the ships involved in the attack were destroyed by the ship's artillery fire.
▪️Ukrainian drones carried out another raid on Belgorod region territory.
In the regional capital UAV hit a passing car, and in Borisovka administrative buildings were damaged.
▪️Artillery shelling of the Shebekinsky district border territories continues.
As a result of the attack on Terezovka a man was injured by shrapnel and was hospitalized.
▪️In the Lysychansk sector, the front line remains stable, with positional fighting continuing near Bilohorivka and Spirne.
Russian troops do not launch active offensives, hitting AFU positions with cannon and rocket artillery.
▪️Near Bakhmut, Russian troops have taken up a stable defense on the flanks, preventing the AFU from advancing.
Nevertheless, the high AFU troops concentration indicates that the enemy does not intend to freeze the front in this area.
▪️In the Donetsk direction the position fighting continues to the west of Novobakhmutivka.
The AFU command intends to hold the line between Novokalynove and Keramik and is transferring additional reserves to the area.

The British think tank Royal United Services Institution, (RUSI) has published a report dedicated to the study of Russian troops' tactics during the Special Military Operation.
The researchers report that the Russian army has studied the tactics of Ukrainian troops' use of drones and has taken a number of protective measures.
In particular, the authors of the report note, electronic warfare systems have been deployed along the entire front line, which are installed at a distance of several kilometers from each other.
The vehicles are moved away from the front line, remaining out of range of Ukrainian artillery.
