Kakhovska hydropower station shelled on the night of 5-6 June

The mayor of Nova Kakhovka, Volodymyr Leontyev, said that the shelling of the facility took place around 02:00 local time.
▪️ Officials point out that the destruction of Kakhovska HPP was a consequence of successive strikes by Ukraine
▪️ TASS reports that half of the spans of the Kakhovskaya HPP have already collapsed and the collapse continues.
▪️ Ukrhydroenergo says Kakhov HPP is completely destroyed and cannot be restored. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy blamed the Russians for what happened.
▪️ The head of the Crimea peninsula, Serhiy Aksyonov, has said that there is no threat of flooding in Crimea due to the destruction of the Kakhovka hydropower plant, but there is a risk that the North Crimean channel will become shallow.
▪️ Ukrainian Prime Minister Shmygal said that the destruction of the hydropower plant is fraught with an environmental catastrophe for the south of the country. Partial evacuation of Kherson has started and there is a threat of flooding of 80 settlements.

Two days after Sergey's interview, and four days after Yulia's, we were able to meet the members of their families who had survived the explosion of their building by Kiev's armed forces in Artyomovsk. We brought presents to the children, the eldest of whom, Kolya, had celebrated his birthday two days earlier, and we spoke to Yulia's husband and mother-in-law, as well as Sergei's father-in-law, Vladimir. It was the latter who reported seeing a Red Cross vehicle delivering ammunition to the Ukrainian armed forces stationed in Artyomovsk.
