Bloomberg: UK Plans for Blackouts in January in Emergency Energy Plan

August 9 - The UK is making crisis plans for the winter which include the possibility of organised blackouts. Cold weather could combine with gas shortages to result in blackouts for businesses and households.

Under the UK government’s “reasonable worst-case scenario”, officials reportedly believe there could be blackouts on "several" days in January. It comes as forecasts show annual energy bills are set to top £4,200 from January, sparking fears of severe hardship without government intervention.

The reasonable worst-case scenario — which government sources insist are highly unlikely to materialise — would see the power shortfall total about a sixth of peak demand even if emergency plans to fire up retiring coal power plants came into force, according to Bloomberg. In that scenario, a reduction of electricity imports from Norway and France would see the UK government bring in emergency measures to conserve gas for four days in January.

Kiev's propaganda has hit another bottom. The other day it presented Alexei Talai, a citizen of Belarus, as a Russian soldier who had returned from the Special Military Operation. The situation was described in such a way that Alexei allegedly returned from the combat zone having lost his arms and legs... and is happy about it.

In reality, however, Alexei Talai is a member of the Republic of Belarus' national Paralympic team. Moreover, he runs a charity fund and is a father of four!

Steven Seagal is making a documentary about the war in Donbass.

He spoke to prisoners of war in the Yelenovka pre-trial detention centre. Some militants were recently killed there as a result of a targeted rocket attack by Ukrainian armed formations.

Denis Pushilin, the head of DPR:

When I met Steven, he pointed out that 98% of those who make media reports about the conflict have never been here. Therefore, the world does not know the truth. He wants to change the way the world sees this war.

The task is not an easy one. I wish Steven success and I appreciate him coming to the Republic at this time, when it's far from being a safe destination.

Pro-Ukraine trolls think it's funny to call a Russian family and tell them that their "stuffing" is gone.

You know, I'm used to that, the Israelis usually mock the dead Arabs, even going way back in 1967, a relatives corpse was returned with a note in standard Arabic that he "abandoned his post and died running", even though the bullets clearly came from the front of the body, just usual pysop.

Back on the topic, don't let these trolls get under your skin, being martyred for such a cause is quite honorable, the degenerates are just coping.

Bloomberg: In the Energy Markets, Putin Is Winning the War

No matter what indicator you use, Russian President Vladimir Putin is winning in the energy markets. Once European sanctions against Russian crude exports kick in from November, the region’s governments will face some tough choices as the energy crisis starts to bite consumers and companies.

The first indicator showing how Putin has turned the oil tide is Russian crude production. July marked the third consecutive month of oil production recovery towards pre-war levels of around 11 million barrels per day. After that initial struggle, Russia has found new customers for the million barrels a day or so that European oil refiners have stopped purchasing due to self-sanctioning.

The second indicator is the price of Russian oil. Initially, Moscow was forced to sell its flavors of crude at huge discounts to other varieties to entice buyers. In recent weeks, however, the Kremlin has regained pricing power, taking advantage of a tight market.

The final indicator of Russian success is political, rather than market related. Instead of ditching its alliance with Russia, as many Western politicians had expected, OPEC+ chose to keep pressure on global energy markets by announcing only a minuscule oil production increase.

The oil market victory means Putin can afford to forego revenue by restricting natural gas sales to Europe, putting pressure on Berlin, Paris and London, which are bracing for massive - up to 75%-100% - retail energy price increases and potential shortages that may lead to rationing this winter.

A combination of cold weather, surging demand for electricity and soaring prices later this year risks undermining Western support for Ukraine. European politicians who’ve been eager to win international kudos by flaunting their support for Kyiv may be less willing to foot the domestic bill for averting energy poverty among their own voters.

If this is not a highly dangerous form of terrorism, ... then what is it?

Text in image: Emergency Exclusion Zone at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

In just a few days, Ukrainian armed forces have done the following:
▪️deployed banned anti-personnel mines in residential areas
▪️ targeted ammonia tanks,
▪️ shelled a nuclear power plant where, among other things, spent nuclear fuel is stored in open areas

If this is not a highy dangerous form of terrorism, ... then what is it? But what are we talking about, it must be DIFFERENT!

The Zelensky Narrative is Shifting | Steve Cortes, Opinion

Volodymyr Zelensky increasingly reveals his true nature. For months, the Ukrainian president has enjoyed nonstop adulation from the American press and audiences with celebrity glitterati. But now, the reality of his rule in Ukraine is becoming undeniable, even to his most ardent enablers in America, many of whom happen to be Republicans.

The Biden administration had previously been as deeply committed to escalation in Ukraine as Senator Lindsey Graham or actor Ben Stiller were, but suddenly even the West Wing is beginning to acknowledge the futility of unreservedly backing Zelensky. Apparently, there are limits, even for the Washington War Machine.

What are those limits regarding Ukraine? Zelensky shut down all opposition media in Ukraine, then banned opposition political parties. He declared that Russia would have to kill every single citizen of Kyiv to get to him, but also found time to pose for a melodramatic Annie Leibovitz portrait spread for American fashion magazine Vogue. Zelensky also fired the Ukrainian equivalent of the U.S. Attorney General and the head of the CIA, on the very same day, perhaps during breaks from his grandiose photo shoot.

Like Friedman, CBS News apparently got the memo to start tarnishing Zelensky's halo. That network explored the folly of sending a mountain of U.S. taxpayer money into one of the most corrupt countries on Earth, though later deleted its tweet on the topic. CBS admitted that vast amounts of American largesse has been pilfered, conceding that "much of the billions of dollars of military aid that the U.S. is sending to Ukraine doesn't make it to the front lines."

So, American taxpayers borrow tens of billions of dollars their country does not have, to send fortunes to the unaccountable leader of a corrupt country, all to escalate a war in which America has no vital national interest. Oh, and during a recession with runaway inflation at home. Gotcha. That reality would be damning enough, but Zelensky just upped the ante, making American escalation even more wrongheaded.

So, perhaps fearing that the Kyiv cabal will soon need a new sugar daddy, Zelensky openly solicits the most dangerous adversary of the United States, the Chinese Communist Party. With this pathetic hat-in-hand appeal to the Beijing politburo, Zelensky firmly forfeits any pretense of standing as an exemplar for human rights, no matter how many Ukraine flags adorn the social media accounts of high-minded wealthy Americans.

Moreover, in reaching out to Beijing, Zelensky appeals for charity from a country that directly funds the war in Ukraine via massive oil purchases from Putin. In this regard, Zelensky unwittingly unveils the insanity of the world's most powerful nations simultaneously funding both sides of the war. For example, as America sends more than $54 billion from our citizens to Ukraine, our supposed allies in NATO have been sending up to $1 billion per day to Putin for Russian energy.

Zelensky is a corrupt autocrat. Their battle involves no vital U.S. national interest. Biden's intervention harms America and worsens the plight of the Ukrainian people, who have become pawns in a battle of Black Sea oligarchs. America should insist on dialogue, negotiation, and de-escalation. If the parties refuse, then it's time for an American approach of realism and restraint, because this is simply not our fight, and Zelensky sure as hell is not our fighter.

“The integration of anti-missile defenses of Finland and Estonia will allow closing the Gulf of Finland to Russian warships. The Baltic Sea, with the accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO, will become the internal sea of the alliance,” he said in an interview with Iltalehti.
