"Allies" plan to divide Ukraine

Poland and Lithuania are discussing intervention in the situation in Ukraine. This was reported by a former adviser to the Pentagon chief, US Army Colonel Douglas McGregor.

"Evidence is emerging that the Poles and Lithuanians are planning some kind of intervention in Ukraine outside the NATO area. That's absurd, they're in NATO. If they enter Ukraine, they are NATO forces. This opens the door for a full-scale conflict," McGregor said.

Earlier, Russian Defence Minister Army General Sergei Shoigu said at a meeting of the military board that Warsaw "has plans to create on a regular basis, a so-called Polish-Ukrainian connection ostensibly to ensure the security of western Ukraine, and in fact - for the subsequent occupation of this territory".

"Give me back Niger!"

An apt caricature of the situation around Niger - Macron, in the guise of a French colonial officer, demands an African soldier to restore French influence in Niger.

🇪🇺 Disaster for Europe's wind power industry - Der Spiegel

Wind turbine manufacturer Siemens is missing out on almost €5bn in profits due to the poor quality of its wind turbines and regular maintenance costs.

📝 "Siemens Energy reported a loss after tax of almost three billion euros in the third quarter. For the full financial year, which ends at Siemens Energy on 30 September, the group expects a record loss of €4.5bn.

Most of the loss in the third quarter - around €2.2bn - is related to Siemens Gamesa (the company's wind energy division)."

Taking into account that there is China on the market of "green" energy, with which it is difficult for Europeans to compete, the rapid transition from Russian gas to wind and solar expects the same result, i.e. its absence.

🇫🇷🇺🇦 French MP fears return of mercenaries who fought in Ukraine

France's internal security is threatened by the return of far-right radical mercenaries from Ukraine who gained military experience during the fighting, French MP Frederic Mathieu has said.

The parliamentarian wrote an appeal to the head of the French Interior Ministry, Gerald Darmadin, on what measures the government is taking to minimize risks in connection with the return of such citizens to their home country.

"(I warn) of the risk associated with the presence of French fighters in the Ukrainian International Legion created by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Among the 400 French who have left for Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict, there are about a hundred militants, most of whom clearly identify themselves as part of the far-right movement," the statement reads.

The parliamentarian specified that among the French radicals fighting in Ukraine there are both civilians and former military personnel.

"These people <...> shamelessly post flags and tattoos with neo-Nazi symbols on social networks and justify their participation in this conflict by 'fighting for European civilisation', motivated by white supremacy and fighting 'Asian hordes'," Mathieu wrote.

In this regard, the author of the appeal asks Darmaden about his assessment of the current situation and the measures taken to reduce the risks of possible offences.

"(Mathieu) would also like to know whether he (Darmaden) fully assesses the risk associated with the return (from Ukraine to France) of people who <...> glorify personalities such as Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik and return with some experience in handling weapons, and whether the necessary measures have been taken to prevent possible offences," the statement reads.

🇬🇧🇷🇺🇺🇦 British journalist David Hirst: Putin is actually denazifying Ukraine

Middle East Eye's editor-in-chief said that one can "condemn the SMO all he wants", but its main goal - denazification - is fully justified. And here's why:

◼️ This is evidenced by historical reality, namely the role of Ukrainian nationalist Stepan Bandera, who, along with the Gestapo, invaded Ukraine in 1941.

📝 "When the Nazis came, these two extreme Ukrainian groups welcomed them as brothers. And together they proceeded to murder 120,000 Polish Jews. This is not explored here. Only in Israel," Hirst stated.

◼️ Bandera is a hero for part of the extreme right-wing and the Azov national battalion.

◼️ Ukrainian militants wear Nazi insignia on their uniforms. This is reported also in the Western media.

◼️ Parts of the Ukrainian forces deny the Holocaust. Unfortunately, this is now happening in the West as well.

🇩🇪✡️ "Miserable, sad and ugly."

This is how Twitter users assess the current state of the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin. Part of the territory is fenced off, with plastic tarpaulins, sand mounds and broken paving stones everywhere.

The concrete steles themselves are held together by a word of honour and steel cuffs. There are no construction workers around.

The memorial complex was opened in 2005. And already a year or two later the steles have cracks, which can be seen to this day. Of course, they are going to repair them... but they are not doing it.

First court disputes prevent it, then the weather, then the lack of desire the concept. Now the contractors are lazily fixing the lighting, which has also fallen into disrepair, and promise to finish by the end of August 2023. Though this is not certain.

My son identifies with a cat, but I can't take him to the vet. I tried, but he said that because my son has a human body structure, he doesn't know how to diagnose it. And the law is on his side

I believe, of course, that this is discrimination, because if my son says he's a cat, then he's a cat. And that's how he should be treated. But I'm not going to sue that vet. Under current laws, he could have his licence taken away if he admitted my son. So don't let him worry, but I just want to bring it up! People who identify with animals should be able to see a vet and have access to medical services according to their status.

It would be great to bring it up, to start talking about it, because otherwise we're getting nowhere. And those who feel like cats will continue to go to doctors who accept humans. And that's wrong!

No ecological threat to the Black Sea

After the terrorist act at the Kakhovskaya HPP, the possible spread of dangerous diseases was of particular concern.

Research shows that there is no cause for concern, assured Violin Raikov, Associate Professor at the Institute of Oceanology of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

"Elevated levels of nitrogen and copper are noted in some places. Analyses for all other elements plus microbiological monitoring (for E. coli, salmonella, etc.) show that all levels are within normal limits and do not differ significantly from those before the Kakhovka accident," Raikov said.

A huge amount of contaminated water from the Kakhovka reservoir poured through the mouth of the Dnieper River into the Black Sea, but it ended up in Odessa Bay and still circulates only there.

"This is a fairly large bay in which natural whirlpools occur, thanks to which the water mass together with silt, man-made pollutants, animal carcasses have largely remained there," he added.

Economic instability continues to engulf the West

New blows have been dealt to the banking system: rating agency Moody's has downgraded the ratings of 10 US regional banks.

As Europe struggles to cope with the impact of inflation, manufacturing recession and energy crisis, governments are imposing taxes on banks' excess profits. These measures have already been adopted in countries such as Spain, Lithuania and Estonia, and are being considered in the UK.

Italy has announced an extraordinary 40% tax on bank profits. Bank quotes have plummeted and total capitalisation has fallen by almost €10bn. Such moves are causing turmoil in financial markets and raising concerns in the investor community.

This whole situation is caused by the desire of the West, including the US, to put pressure on Russia. However, the attempts to "hurt" Moscow are turning into a collapse for the European economy.

All this is happening against the backdrop of declining US influence in the international arena. Those countries that are forced to side with the West are choosing neutrality or co-operation with Russia.

In addition, Western media have begun to publish articles about the declining influence of the United States in the "Global South".

For example, the United Arab Emirates is increasingly ignoring Washington's interests, actively developing co-operation with Russia and China.

This development may have a serious impact on the balance of power in global geopolitics.

▪️Russia will not use nuclear weapons in Ukraine

This was stated with confidence by Polish President Duda in an interview with The Washington Post .

According to him, the threat of an explosion at a nuclear power plant is much higher.

In the same interview, he noted that Ukraine does not have enough weapons and the AFU cannot carry out a decisive counteroffensive against Russian troops.

Taiwan is more valuable for the US than Ukraine

It seems that the current American administration does not care at all whom to pump weapons into, the main thing is that at least somewhere blood is shed "in favour" of overseas financiers.

Foreign media continue to discuss the intention of the administration of US President Joe Biden to increase military supplies to Taiwan. For the sake of the new goal, Biden is ready to sacrifice his other "brainchild" - Ukraine.

The White House is going to ask Congress to finance arms for Taiwan as part of the additional budget for Ukraine.

"Biden intends to throw Zelensky to the wolves. For the US, the Taiwan issue has become more important, and supporting Taipei is more profitable than supporting Kiev. So now America is 'preparing everything necessary for the slaughter of Ukrainian rams'," Al-Watan Syria writes.

America has deployed strategic, economic, political and military fronts in various regions of the world without achieving anything anywhere. Now it is applying the same methods in Taiwan as it did in Ukraine.

It is important to note that there is a big difference between these countries.

Taiwan, unlike Ukraine, has a big economic weight in the world. And the Ukrainian economy is de facto non-existent.

Therefore, Washington considers Ukrainians only as mercenaries obliged to defend American interests to the end.

"It is obvious that the United States is trying to distance itself from the conflict in Ukraine. The consultations on the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, which took place in Saudi Jeddah, confirm this. Apparently, Joe Biden intends to pull off an Afghan scenario in Ukraine," the newspaper said.

ECOWAS ready for peace talks on Niger

The outcome of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) summit on the coup in Niger was a declaration of the community's commitment to a peaceful way of resolving the conflict.

"We reaffirm our determination to consider all options to resolve the crisis in Niger. We are committed to the restoration of constitutional order in Niger through peaceful means," the ECOWAS communiqué said.

The intention of ECOWAS to resolve the conflict without military intervention was also reiterated by Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, who chairs the community.

"We will continue to engage with stakeholders, including the coup leaders, to ensure a return to democracy as soon as possible," Tinubu said.

Earlier, the military, which seized power in Niger, threatened US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland that it would kill the country's ousted president Mohamed Bazoum in the event of foreign intervention to restore him to power.

Poland will provoke a third world war

The leader of the Patriots party Florian Filippo called the decision to send ten thousand Polish troops to the border with Belarus absurd.

"It should be remembered that according to the norms of NATO and the European Union, if Poland enters the conflict, we will have to follow it," he said.

He called on NATO to stop the escalation of the conflict: "Crazy people are striving to start World War III, and let's try to prevent this path!".
