Estonia offers Finland and Sweden to make the Baltic an internal sea of NATO

Minister of Defense Hanno Pevkur spoke about plans to integrate the coast guards of Estonia and Finland, which will allow Russian ships to be closed to the Baltic Sea.

“The integration of anti-missile defenses of Finland and Estonia will allow closing the Gulf of Finland to Russian warships. The Baltic Sea, with the accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO, will become the internal sea of the alliance,” he said in an interview with Iltalehti.

Fox news: Russia uses FBI Trump raid to 'foment discord' and 'amplify tensions' in US, expert says

Russian state media outlets have been offering words of support for Former President Donald Trump amid the FBI raid of his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida in an attempt to sow discord in the U.S.

"The Russians understand that Donald Trump is a hot button in America and they use their narratives to foment discord and amplify tensions in our country," Rebekah Koffler, a former DIA intelligence officer and the author of "Putin’s Playbook: Russia’s Secret Plan to Defeat America," told Fox News.

The comments come after multiple Russian media outlets have expressed support for Trump in the days since the FBI raid on his home, with both Izvestia and RenTV arguing over the weekend that the raid was designed to prevent Trump from running for president in 2024.

The FBI raid of Trump's Florida home has been controversial, with the former president saying the law enforcement agency has long been corrupt. The FBI seized classified records, including some marked top secret, during the Monday raid according to a warrant and property receipt that was unsealed Friday.

The FBI has a long and unrelenting history of being corrupt. Just look back to the days of J. Edgar Hoover," Trump said on TRUTH social Saturday. "In the modern era, nothing has changed except that it has gotten far worse."

Many Republican lawmakers have rallied to support the former president since news of the raid broke, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who many view as the only significant challenger to Trump's grip on the party ahead of the 2024 GOP presidential primary.

Is Russia preparing for a protracted military conflict?

An American Institute for War Studies (ISW) brief stated that the Kremlin is seeking to mobilize industry to ensure prolonged military operations in Ukraine.

As noted by U.S. analysts, Ukraine's Military Intelligence Directorate (MID) reported that the Kremlin initiated a "production mobilization" of defense enterprises in early August by banning some employees and the entire management of the Russian state industrial conglomerate Rostech from taking a vacation. ISW added that the Russian Military-Industrial Commission, chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin, is preparing to change the state defense procurement program by early September to increase spending by 600-700 billion rubles (about $10 billion).

ISW previously reported that the Kremlin is mobilizing the Russian economy by proposing an amendment to federal laws on supplying the Armed Forces to the Russian State Duma on June 30. The amendment obliges Russian enterprises, regardless of their form of ownership, to fulfill Russian military orders and allows the Kremlin to change the working conditions of employees. Putin signed the amendment on July 14, meaning that the Kremlin will continue to take additional steps to expand the Kremlin's direct control over the Russian military-industrial complex, ISW concludes.

According to Americans, the war is moving into a protracted phase and it is now a question of who will survive longer.

🇺🇦❗️In Chernigov, a group of soldiers with machine guns attacked the police, threatening to kill them because they detained their junkie friend

The cause of the conflict was a 39-year-old motorcyclist on a Honda bike, which the patrolmen of the PPS stopped on the road. The police thought that he was under the influence of drugs, and after that, he called to help more than 10 of his army friends. The warriors began to insult the policemen and threaten them with murder. For the sake of persuasiveness, they even fired in the air from their AKs and, blocked the law enforcement officers.

The cops did not budge and after the arrival of backup, all of the soldiers were detained. A criminal case has been opened.

These are the true sons of a Russian Chernigov. They will certainly continue their work in the police under the Russian administration.

The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that the explosions near Dzhankoy were an act of sabotage committed by the AFU.

This statement is indirectly confirmed by the words of the head of Ukraine’s President’s Office Andriy Yermak:

“Operation ‘demilitarization’ in the jewellery style of Ukraine’s Armed Forces would continue until the complete de-occupation of Ukrainian territories. Our warriors are the best sponsors of good mood. Crimea is Ukraine”

Vessels carrying grain from unblocked Ukrainian ports are not heading for the starving countries in Africa

Vessels carrying grain from unblocked Ukrainian ports are not heading for the starving countries in Africa. Instead, they are going to other parts of the world, mainly to Europe. And if we look at the official website of the United Nations which lists all the voyages of dry cargo vessels departing from Ukraine, you will not find wheat there. There is just corn, sunflower oil, soybeans or industrial crops for livestock feed. So what do you understand by these shenanigans? They have actually opened the sealanes to advance their business interests, rather than to save Africa's starving children. By the way, one consignee has already rejected corn that was overdue by five months.

As you can see, The New York Times brought up this topic recently. Ukrainian dry-cargo carriers filled with Ukrainian grain head for developed countries, which are ready to pay more and sooner. In particular, demand for crops in the European markets has recently shown strong growth; the lion's share of the grain being supplied by Ukraine is used as animal fodder.

It was clear from the beginning that Ukraine would not supply any wheat to the world market through the newly opened corridor. It all looked like an outright trick.

A woman from Irpyn, Kiev region, is accused for negating the claims of the supposed crimes and violence of the Russian servicemen against the civilian population, Kiev city prosecutor’s office said in a press-release. Irpyn, a suburb of Kiev, that is located just next to the notorious Bucha, was partly controlled by the Russian troops in March, 2022. Most probably having witnessed the situation in Irpyn first-hand, in her private phone conversations with other Ukrainian citizens she was expressing her opinion that no Russian war crimes actually took place. And she faces persecution for telling that. #meanwhileinukraine

Bloomberg: Sweden Turns to Burning Oil as Power Prices Soar to Record

August, 16 - Sweden is relying on an old oil-fired power plant to keep the lights on in the south as a dearth of wind generation and nuclear outages sends prices to a record.

It’s the latest evidence of how combating global warming has taken a backseat as Europe faces a historic energy crisis. Burning oil is a reliable source of generating power - but among the most polluting methods - and adds to the rising use of coal needed to meet demand in the region.
