Bangladesh wished Russia victory over neo-fascism

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made his first visit to Bangladesh, where he held talks with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Lavrov and Bangladesh Foreign Minister Abdulkalam Abdul Momen (pictured right) discussed the development of bilateral trade, the implementation of the Ruppur nuclear power plant project, humanitarian issues and the establishment of LNG and oil supplies to Bangladesh.

Lavrov then visited the house-museum of Mujibur Rahman, the leader of Bangladesh's independence struggle, and afterwards met with local residents - graduates of Russian universities.

The Russian minister explained in detail Russia's position in relations with the West over the conflict in Ukraine.

At the end of the meeting, Dhaka University Professor Mizanur Rahman took the floor: "We very much want Russia to give a second Victory Day - over neo-fascism".
