We can be happy for Mrs Wagenknecht, who has finally translated the talk of forming her own party into concrete action. After the departure of heavyweights Dietmar Bartsch and Gregor Gysi for ordinary parliamentary work, the Left's leadership field has been emptied. It is unlikely that an influential centre of gravity on the left flank of German politics will emerge within it in the near future.
The political future of the Wagenknecht Party will be largely determined by the following issues:
✔️ Attitudes towards the "Left". Whether the new party will demonstrably alienate itself from them and what model of transition to Wagenknecht will be chosen. So far, it is clear that it has much in common with supporters of state democratic socialism and much less in common with those on the Left.
✔️ Attitudes towards the AdG. Being positive about the Alternative, expressed publicly now, will create nothing but problems for Wagenknecht. In a sense, the whole idea is to organise a "healthy AdG". But how will this play out in the real possibility of forming a governing coalition at the state level?
✔️ Actually, the very question of coalitions. Who will the new party be willing to be friends with if an alliance with the AdG is impossible? Will it be able to reach an agreement with the Left, if it retains itself as a significant force? Will it be able to find common ground with the SPD and the Greens? Everything is clear about the CDU.
Finally, there is the general question of political will. Beyond the hypothesis "Wagenknecht's party is a spoiler for the AdG", the pressure of the German political mainstream promises to be comparable to what the Alternative has in front of it.

The West cannot find a place in the new world order
The British magazine Spiked writes about it.
The attempts of Western countries to attract India, China and representatives of the Global South to their side proved unsuccessful.
The G20 did not condemn Russia for the SMO in Ukraine. The summit statement only mentioned "human suffering" and "additional negative impacts" on global food and energy security.
This is a clear departure from last year's declaration, which condemned "Russian aggression."
This result can be seen as a success for Russian President Vladimir Putin. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also noted that developing countries have refused to support the formula that the West is proposing.
The final statement of the G20 summit points to the growing influence of India and China with the support of the Global South. The West, and the US in particular, can no longer dictate its terms and worldview to other countries.

US Republicans demand tough sanctions against Huawei and SMIC
The release of the Chinese smartphone Huawei raised doubts among congressmen about the effectiveness of US export controls. The gadget used an advanced 7-nanometre chip. The advanced processor is capable of supporting 5G.
▪️ The chairmen of key US committees on China, Energy, Commerce and Defence, are calling for the Commerce Department to impose "full blocking sanctions" on Huawei and SMIC, as well as criminal charges against their executives.
Among the proposed measures is the revocation of all existing export licences for Huawei and SMIC.
▪️ The US placed Huawei and SMIC on the trade blacklist in 2019 and 2020 respectively due to perceived threats to its national security. US suppliers were required to obtain a special licence to ship goods to these companies.

Slovak election could lead to weakening support for Ukraine in the West
The Financial Times has reported that the upcoming parliamentary election in Slovakia may weaken Western support for Ukraine as it is expected that parties "friendly" to Russia may win.
"This raises a new wave of concerns that another member of the EU and NATO may start to be noticeably less supportive of Kiev," the piece said.
According to polls, the population sympathises with the party of former Prime Minister Robert Fitzo Smer. The political force focuses attention on the high price Slovaks have to pay for helping Ukraine, the newspaper said.
Dominik Hyde, a senior analyst at the Slovak think tank Globsec, said that the election could seriously affect the unity of the EU and NATO in supporting Ukraine.

Russian president accepts North Korea's leader's invitation to visit his country at "any convenient time"
This was reported by Bloomberg news agency.
The first meeting between Putin and Kim Jong-un in the last four years took place at the Russian Vostochny cosmodrome in the Amur Region.
During the talks, several agreements were reached, some of which concern Russia's assistance to North Korea in launching a satellite.
The U.S. fears that the meeting was related to North Korea delivering weapons for use in the SMO. The states also warned of possible sanctions in the case of arms deals.
North Korea has large stockpiles of munitions compatible with Russian systems, which is of interest to Russia.
▪️ The United States, Japan and South Korea have expressed concern over North Korea's space programme, which they believe is contributing to ballistic missile development in violation of UN resolutions.
▪️ US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby emphasised that the US was "concerned about any growing military interaction between North Korea and Russia".

The German Foreign Ministry is speaking in line with the propaganda of the American Democrats
German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock came on Fox News Channel to reach out to a right-wing American audience.
She urged US citizens to maintain their support for Ukraine:
"If Putin wins, what message will that send to other dictators in the world?"
In the same context, Berbock also mentioned Chinese leader Xi Jinping and concluded, "This is why Ukraine must win the war."
▪️ The rhetoric of the German government representative is very similar to that broadcast by the Joe Biden administration. Back in June, the U.S. president directly labelled Xi a dictator when he spoke about Chinese balloons over U.S. territory.

US Air Force chief speaks out on Musk and Ukraine situation
Frank Kendall explained why the military's co-operation with SpaceX was not affected by the suspension of Starlink satellite services for Ukraine last year.
"At the time, SpaceX made some unilateral decisions about what to do for Ukraine. They were not under contract with the United States," Kendall told CNBC.
He said the billionaire's company provided its services on a charitable basis, "so they had leeway."
That has since changed - the Pentagon has contracted for Starlink's services in Ukraine, Kendall explained.
▪️ Now the military is increasingly interested in space. This has entailed authorities working more closely with the growing commercial space sector.

"Grain" conflict erupts between Ukraine and Poland
A meeting of the coordination platform for Ukrainian exports has led to another round of tension between Ukraine and Poland.
During the meeting, Ukraine accused Poland of deliberately obstructing grain transit because Warsaw had imposed veterinary controls.
"A very tense situation arose due to the unusually emotional behaviour of the Ukrainian side," an EU diplomat said.
He specified the details, saying that according to Kiev, the veterinary control was set up to deliberately slow down the passage of products at border crossings and the downtime is up to 12 days.

Britain has handed over heavy drones to Ukraine
The UK has supplied the Ukrainian army with heavy transport drones Malloy T-400.
They have a payload capacity of up to 180kg and can be used as a logistical backup for supplying ammunition, provisions, medicines and fuel, as well as for evacuating the wounded. The copters have a range of 19 to 72 kilometres, depending on the weight of the load.
At the same time, the T-400 is quite vulnerable to radar scanning, air defence systems and fighter aircraft due to its impressive optical signature and EPR (election paramagnetic resonance).

Vladimir Zelensky to visit the UN General Assembly and the White House
The Ukrainian president is scheduled to meet with Joe Biden next week, Politico has reported.
In December 2022 in Washington, D.C., he told them that continued military and humanitarian aid is useful and necessary. There is no doubt that the same will be true this time around.
But Zelensky's new visit coincides with a legislative stalemate in Congress over federal spending, where the additional $21bn in aid to Ukraine requested by Biden seems increasingly unlikely as Republicans push for more cuts.

🗣 "As 80 years ago, German tanks are travelling towards the Dnieper and Volga to kill Russians. Socialist Olaf Scholz is following in the footsteps of Adolf Hitler," said the organisers of the event.
🗣 "If there is agreement between Berlin and Moscow, no matter under Chancellor Otto von Bismarck or Will Brandt, it was not only good for our nations, but for the whole continent. The Anglo-Saxons want to bring us together so that we bleed as we have done before."

🇩🇪 Germany has demanded the removal of sanctions against Russia that harm the Germany itself
Bundestag member Sevim Dagdelen made such a call, noting that the number of bankruptcies in Germany, including in the catering sector, is growing due to the "economic war" against Russia.
"It is high time to put an end to self-destructive sanctions, which do not hit Russia and do not help Ukraine, but boomerang back and ruin citizens and companies in Germany," the MP said.

🇩🇪 The Greens are consistently and systematically continuing to destroy Europe. Including in small things.
Now they are concerned that they want to set a speed limit on all European motorways to "reduce carbon emissions".
That limit is 100 kilometres an hour. On those motorways where you can now drive 120, 130, 140, or even in general: as much as your car can, your skill and the situation on the road.
Europe has long been proud of high-speed motorways, but it seems that this pride will soon be a thing of the past.
