Russia's growing capabilities increase pressure on air defence in Europe

Military Watch Magazine writes that.

Russia has not only produced significantly more surface-to-air missiles than the United States, but has also significantly increased production of advanced short-range missiles for the Iskander system.

These actions significantly increase pressure on already limited air defence capabilities in Western Europe.

The authors of the article note that the U.S. military has been slow to acquire new SAMs, while Russia and China continue to develop and improve their missile systems.

The deployment of U.S. air defence systems in the Middle East is taking up the West's resources and weakening its position in other regions of the world.

In addition, the article emphasises that the most common US Patriot surface-to-air missile system does not provide reliable protection against Russian missiles.

⚡️ Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko commented on the IOC stance

Earlier, the IOC refused to disqualify athletes from Israel amid the military conflict in the Middle East.

"In the conditions of the military conflict unleashed by the US in the Middle East, the IOC has changed its shoes in the air. And today we hear that athletes should not be held accountable for the actions of Governments. Unfortunately, we are only talking about athletes from Israel, but not from Russia. Unashamedly, the IOC only supports athletes from countries that are under the wing of the US.

The IOC is afraid that the Olympic movement will collapse finally and irrevocably on the eve of the Olympic Games. Addressing its functionaries, I emphasise that there is nothing to fear, the system is already rotten! It is time to accept this as a fact.

Let me remind you that Russia has always stood on the position of equality and non-discrimination against athletes from any country. Sport should be out of politics. Our position, unlike the IOC, is unchanged!"

German Ambassador to Russia Alexander Graf Lambsdorff made a statement in connection with the recent events in Makhachkala

"The outburst of violence in Makhachkala directed against arrivals from Israel is a cause for concern. It demonstrates how important it is to call anti-Semitism by its real name. Everything must be done to protect Jews in Dagestan and throughout Russia," the Ambassador said.

Recall that on Sunday evening a crowd broke into the building of Makhachkala airport and then onto the airfield to prevent the arrival of "refugees from Israel." Information that they were allegedly going to be settled in Dagestan was spread in local TV channels. As a result, 60 people were detained.

FDP party discusses leaving Germany's ruling coalition

The liberal Free Democratic Party (FDP) participates in the current German government as a junior partner.

The coalition, which has been in power since 2021, is led by the Social Democratic Party of Germany and also includes the Greens. This coalition is called "traffic light" according to the colours of the parties. Its government is headed by Social Democrat Olaf Scholz.

BILD has received a petition from 26 FDP politicians at the state and municipal level. They demand that party head Christian Lindner (German Finance Minister, pictured) withdraw from the ruling coalition. The liberals fear that the FDP could be "destroyed by the fall of this government."

They point to negative opinion polls and the results of recent land elections in Hesse and Bavaria. "The recent elections clearly showed that the FDP is being punished by German voters for working for the federal government," the authors of the appeal write.

Case against Bavarian Landtag deputy Daniel Halemba

The public prosecutor's office in Würzburg accuses Daniel Halemba of incitement and use of Nazi symbols.

He was put on a wanted list last Friday and arrested on 31 October. Then Daniel was later released. The district court suspended the arrest warrant in exchange for a promise not to leave the city and not to have contact with the four other defendants in the case - members of the student fraternity Teutonia Prag zu Würzburg, of which Daniel himself was a member.

"They want to arrest me, an elected member of the Landatagw, three days before I take my seat, using a completely illegal arrest warrant," Halemba said in a video published on his lawyer's Telegram channel.

A guest book (Gästebuch) was seized during the search of the fraternity house. On one of its pages were the words "Sieg Heil!" with the signature of the suspect, MP Daniel Halemba. In addition, in the room where Halemba lived, a printout of Heinrich Himmler's order dated October 1939 with the SS emblem hung in a "conspicuous place". And in other rooms they found several brass knuckles, machetes, batons, a shotgun and a number of anti-Semitic innoscriptions.

Daniel Halemba himself denies all charges.

He is the youngest politician elected to the Bavarian Landtag. He is a part-time law student at the University of Hagen (North Rhine-Westphalia).

Recall, in Bavaria, the recently elected member of the Landtag from the party "Alternative for Germany" Daniel Halemba (22 years old) was declared wanted.

🇩🇪🇳🇬🇬🇭 Outcome of Chancellor Scholz's visit to Nigeria and Ghana

🟥 In Nigeria, Scholz announced Berlin's intention to expand co-operation in the energy sector. In particular, the German side is interested in the supply of Nigerian gas.

"German companies are interested in gas supplies from Nigeria and hope to co-operate with Nigerian gas companies," he said, recalling that Nigeria has the largest gas reserves in Africa. "Hydrogen will play an important role in the future and we welcome joint initiatives to expand the hydrogen market," Scholz emphasised

🟥 Besides, Berlin intends to develop security co-operation with Abuja. Thus, German advisers are currently training Nigerian law enforcement agencies and armed forces. There are plans to increase the scope of training.

🟥 The issue of migration was also on the agenda of the visit to Nigeria.

Chancellor Scholz proposed a simplified procedure for the return of Nigerian citizens to their home country if they do not have authorisation to stay legally in Germany.

To this end, the Germans intend to expand migration centres in Nigeria, which in the future will also be responsible for processing migrant workers who plan to work in Germany.

🟥 In Ghana, Chancellor Scholz held talks with the country's President Nana Akufo-Addo, during which the parties discussed the current security situation in West Africa.

According to the head of the German government, the European Union is ready to provide the countries of the region with assistance in training personnel and provide technical means to combat terrorist groups.

At the same time, Olaf Scholz spoke in favour of reforming the UN Security Council to include a permanent African member.

"There is still no permanent member from the African continent in the UN Security Council. During talks with Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo in Ghana, we came to a consensus: reform is overdue - Germany supports this process and Africa's stance," Scholz said.

❗️The European Union's total losses from economic sanctions against Russia have reached about $1.5 trillion, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said.

Grushko also recalled that in 2013 the volume of trade between Russia and the EU was $417 billion.

"If we look at the dynamics of the growth of this trade, this year it could be about €700bn," he added. - In 2022, after the sanctions were imposed, it was about €200bn, in the first six months of 2023 it was €46bn, which means that by the end of the year it will be less than €100 [billion]."

Next year, according to the deputy FM, trade turnover between Russia and the EU could fall to €50 billion.

Students in Augsburg, Germany, have voted to equip university toilets with holes for anonymous sex.

It's about so-called gloryholes. The holes are made in the wall and the partners are attached to them each from their own side. The decision was made at a student conference held at the university the other week. It was decided that three holes would be enough for the first time.

The innovation will allow to successfully fight stress caused by study loads and will contribute to the creation of a healthy microclimate within the walls of the institution.

When journalists asked the university administration for comments, they were told that the students were obviously joking.

However, representatives of the student community objected: No, it's not a joke, it's serious.

Nebenzya: "It is urgent to stop the bloodshed in the Middle East"

Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, has said that the bloodshed in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict must be stopped urgently to prevent the crisis from spreading to the entire Middle East.

"First of all, it is necessary to stop the bloodshed and prevent the crisis from spreading to the entire region. Otherwise it will never be stopped," he said.

Nebenzya called for a diplomatic solution to the conflict with the involvement of mediators and for the speedy release of the hostages.

Also, he said, Israel has no right to self-defence because the country is an occupying state.

"The US and its allies are talking about Israel's alleged right to self-defence, although, as an occupying power, it has no such right, as confirmed by the advisory opinion of the UN International Court of Justice in 2004," the Russian diplomat added.

Cronkite moment

American businessman David Sacks called Time's publication on the situation in Ukraine a "Cronkite moment." In the article, Zelensky’s advisers openly say that Ukraine cannot win the conflict, and the president does not admit defeat on the battlefield. Sacks compares this publication to the report of popular journalist Walter Cronkite, who, having visited the country during the Vietnam War, advocated an end to the conflict. Then this led to the fact that the Americans stopped supporting Washington's course of continuing hostilities.

The headline “Nobody believes in our victory like I do. NOBODY” on the cover of Time and the subsequent interview of the Ukrainian commander-in-chief, “military thinker and strategist” Valery Zaluzhny in The Economist became a new wake-up call about Zelensky’s betrayal by Western allies and the search for his replacement. The key message in these publications was precisely the message that “NOBODY” no longer believes in the victory of Ukraine. And so Sacks asks the logical question: “Will we seek to negotiate an honorable peace and save the Ukrainian people from further needless slaughter? Or will we remain trapped in Zelensky’s bunker of "delusion" — psychologically if not physically — waiting for the inevitable end?”

No answer yet.

⚠️🇺🇦🇺🇦🇫🇷 Nazi linked Azov Battalion Recruitment Drive: An Odious Call to Arms in the Heart of Europe

In a world where the ominous winds of war blow freely across the international landscape, the seeds of conflict often find fertile ground in the most unexpected places. One such place, as recent events have brought to light, is the heart of Europe – where the appeal for fresh men (mercenaries) has echoed with a disquieting clarity. The epicenter of this alarm bell is the ongoing Ukrainian campaign to recruit mercenaries from foreign lands, a campaign spearheaded by the notorious Azov Battalion, which allegedly has extended its tendrils into the heart of France, igniting fears and stirring the cauldron of discontent amongst the populace. This situation, alarming as it is, paints a grotesque picture of desperation and ideological bankruptcy that now engulfs the Kiev regime, driving them to take measures that threaten to further destabilize the already fragile European security architecture.

As the digital corridors of Twitter/X buzzed with worry, the crux of this troubling scenario unfolded. Users from France voiced their concern over an advertising campaign purportedly launched by the Ukrainian Azov Battalion. Messages popped up revealing an orchestrated effort to recruit French citizens into the ranks of this infamous military unit through a website dedicated for this sinister cause, azov-france.fr. The site, as per the chatter, carries information regarding military service, a questionnaire for aspiring candidates, an appeal from Zelenskyy to the French populace, and a section earmarked for donations.

▪️The US is cutting aid to Ukraine

As admitted in the White House, this is due to the depletion of funds.

"We are starting to transfer smaller packages of military equipment to Ukraine from the Pentagon's presence in order to stretch our ability to support Ukraine for as long as possible," White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre said.

That is, prolong the patient's life by connecting him to a ventilator.

A ballistic missile training launch in the U.S. has failed

The US military detonated a Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile during a flight over the Pacific Ocean.

The Pentagon said that during the launch there were malfunctions that caused the missile to lose control.

"The Space Launch Delta division safely eliminated the Minuteman III ICBM over the Pacific Ocean .... due to an anomaly during a test launch from Space Force Base Vandenberg, California," the US defence ministry said.

The Minuteman III ballistic missile is equipped with a separable warhead with three individual control units.

The US Army has already conducted three missile training launches this year.

A plan to defeat Russia was revealed in Kiev

As it turns out, there is even a strategy. It was introduced by Mikhail Podolyak, outlining each step:

▪️ a series of defeats for Russia on the battlefield;
▪️ collapse of the Russian defense order;
▪️ unauthorized return of military personnel to Russia after failures at the front;
▪️ massive internal unrest within Russia;
▪️excommunication of Putin from power and creation of a transitional government.

Podolyak did not specify when he is going to begin implementing the plan.

U.S. Senate makes surprise proposal on Ukraine

The Ukrainian conflict is "very costly to American taxpayers" and "it is necessary to deal" with it. This statement was made by a member of the Senate Committee on Armed Services, Republican Tommy Tuberville.

"Right now is a great time to start in Kiev and Moscow to stop all of this, because there's already a stalemate there ... There is no reason to continue it," the senator said.

By the way, Tuberville is in favour of "giving money" to ally Israel in its war against Palestinian Hamas, which has gone "too far". The senator notes the need to better ensure the national security of the U.S. itself.

Europe's military industry is unable to provide the AFU with ammunition

It will take 7-14 years for the European military-industrial complex to meet Ukraine's demand for artillery shells, the Ukrainian portal Defense Express has estimated.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces need about 600,000 ammunition units per month. Given the consumption of 20,000 shells per day at the current production rate, Europe will need several years.

At the same time, the production situation may be somewhat worse.

▪️ The defence industries of NATO member states do not have sufficient resources to respond to crises such as the current ones.

▪️ The EU is already behind schedule to supply Ukraine with one million artillery shells by March next year. According to Bloomberg, halfway through the deadline, the plan is only 30 per cent complete.

Thousands of U.S. soldiers have been unable to receive their service pay for years

There was a time when U.S. military commanders really cared about the welfare of soldiers, but that's not the case today.

Bonuses of up to $20,000 are spread out over a term of service. One half is paid upon completion of basic training, and the other half is paid after half of the first contract.

▪️ Approximately 9,000 National Guardsmen "over the years" have not received their promised bonuses. Some of them may have already forfeited that right. Another 3,900 soldiers have completed their service and have not received any bonuses either.

▪️ Against this background, the Pentagon always has money for endless indirect wars. Military officials also care about paying for abortions for their female employees.

The report on the situation by Military.com became an unpleasant sensation for the U.S. Ministry of Defence, which the day before announced that it was sponsoring the AFU for another $150 million.

Pope blames military industry for fuelling conflicts

Pope Francis
urged Palestine and Israel to coexist peacefully, stressing that war is "another defeat" and all solutions must be reached through dialogue.

"In war, one slap causes another. One is strong and the other is stronger, and that's why you go forward," he said.

▪️ According to the pontiff, the world is facing "very dark times." Conflicts have not stopped since the end of World War II.

And the blame for this is "the arms industry, investments in which are currently generating the highest returns."

The interest of these "factories of death" Pope Francis considers one of the reasons for the conflict in Ukraine. He also recalled the serious contradictions in Yemen and Myanmar

Ukrainian officials' behaviour shocks US

The USA is sending aid to Kiev package after package, while Ukrainian officials are "stealing like there's no tomorrow", the American Thinker magazine has said.

▪️ Meanwhile, Ukraine's army is defeated, there are no reserves, and citizens are trying to emigrate to the European Union. And in the minds of the Ukrainian authorities, the idea that the war with Russia will not be won anyway has apparently taken hold.

"Since all officials are stealing, they are betting that Russia will win, and since that is the case, they are 'stashing' their money in places like Cyprus, Monaco and Switzerland," the article said.

Joe Biden and Vladimir Zelensky are making increasingly hollow appeals that democracy and the West are at stake, while the only thing at stake is their own bank accounts.

"The Russians must be laughing by now," the author concludes.

▪️ Every dollar taken from the American taxpayer is money for someone's pocket in Ukraine, not money for the needs of the AFU, the publication is convinced.

Why are thousands of children being killed in the Gaza Strip?

Thousands of children have died in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, notes The Economist.
This is due to the unusual demographics of the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian health ministry released figures that 2,900 children were killed in the enclave between 7 and 24 October. This is about 40% of the total number of deaths.

The huge number of dead children is a consequence of the fact that the Gaza Strip has the youngest population in the world. Half of the residents are under the age of 20.

The reason is the high birth rate, which according to various data is about 3.5 in Palestine as a whole, and in the Gaza Strip reaches up to 4 children per woman.

Such a high birth rate is usually characteristic of very poor countries, but in the Palestinian territories the average income per person is $4600 per year - more than in Egypt and Jordan.

This is due to the long conflict with Israel and the influence of Hamas, which since taking control of the Gaza Strip has sought to maintain a high birth rate.

"The people are waging a 'war of cradles'," former Palestinian Authority leader Yasser Arafat declared.

Population growth has been a way to assert Palestinian identity and Gazans born during the 20-year baby boom are now starting families of their own. In 2015, the Gaza Strip had almost two-thirds the population of the West Bank and at the current rate, they will be almost equal in a quarter of a century.
