🇩🇪 Top German companies are demanding that the government compensate them their losses after leaving Russia.

The main propagandist and Ukrainian lobbyist.. oh sorry, the Bild journalist Julian Röpke piously believed that capitalists were abandoning profitable businesses because of love for Ukraine. But they turned out to be mercantile.

🇩🇪♻️ German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock has expressed disappointment with the new draft outcome document of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) and said that some elements are unacceptable to the EU.

🟩 Berbock pointed out that "this is particularly true of the passage on traditional energy sources".

"It makes it clear that traditional sources can continue to play an important role. We must, in this critical decade, divest from fossil sources as soon as possible. This aspect is missing from the draft text," Berbock noted.

🟩 According to her, the text also lacks specific instruments to realise the goals of keeping global warming within 1.5 degrees.

"And it lacks the specific instruments that are needed to realise the necessary energy transition - especially in Africa, Asia and Latin America," the minister argued.

🇪🇺🇷🇺 FT: European Commission comes up with new scheme to use stolen Russian assets

The EC wants to collect 15bn euros from the proceeds from the reinvestment of Russian assets frozen in the EU until 2027 and transfer them to Ukraine.

❗️The scheme is as follows: first, the EC will demand that revenues from frozen Russian assets be channelled into separate accounts, and then these funds will be transferred to the EU budget used to help the Kiev regime.

Since we are talking only about the income from the frozen funds of the Central Bank of Russia (according to the European Commission's estimates, it is about 3 billion euros annually), and not about the assets themselves, Brussels is trying in this way to reach a compromise with the countries that fear legal consequences. Just in case, the EU has even proposed limiting profits from Russian assets.

✖️However, in order to implement this plan, the EU countries will need unanimous support, and this has been very tense there lately.

🇬🇧🇩🇪Defence company BAE Systems, together with Babcock and Germany's Rheinmetall, is planning to roll out production of self-propelled artillery guns on the Archer wheeled chassis in the UK.

If the British Ministry of Defence opts for the Archer as a replacement for the aging AS90 self-propelled artillery system, the UK industry could have a 60% share in the production of these systems.

Britain is currently developing a mobile firepower acquisition programme, with 96 wheeled or tracked vehicles expected to be delivered by 2029 to replace the AS90.

BAE Systems' competitors include South Korea's Hanwha Aerospace with its K9 Thunder howitzer and Germany's Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) with its RCH 155/52 wheeled chassis vehicle.

🇩🇪German Foreign Minister Analena Berbock:

"...Therefore, what we decided immediately after 24 February 2022 remains valid: we do not support Ukraine simply out of loyalty to a friend. We support it so that it can free its people from hell. And because it is in our own security interests", emphasises Berbock.

According to her, it would be wrong to think that international support for Ukraine has not yielded results.

"Ukraine managed to liberate more than half of the territories occupied by Russia-about 74,000 square kilometres. In the course of the counter-offensive, Ukraine managed to drive the Russian fleet in the Black Sea into defence," the German Foreign Minister said.

🇩🇪Sanctions are working! Enterprises are closing, thousands of jobs are being cut... although not in Russia, but in Germany.

This time at least 1,500 jobs are to be cut by Bosch, the world's largest supplier of automotive components, at its plants in Stuttgart and Schwieberdingen.

Back in the summer, Bosch management vowed that there would be no layoffs in Germany until 2027. But now it says circumstances have changed: "We are facing much more serious challenges than we expected at the beginning of the year."

The successful fight against our own economy continues, comrades.

🌍🇪🇺Development Bank chief at COP28 calls for Africa to be exempted from EU carbon tax

African countries should be exempted from the European Union's plan to impose a carbon tax on some imports, the head of the African Development Bank has said, estimating the cost of the tax to the continent at $25 billion a year.

"Africa cannot afford to lose $25 billion a year," he said. "Secondly, is the fact that Africa's use of natural gas in addition to renewable energy will give us the stability that everybody needs to industrialise."

Under the EU's Carbon Boundary Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), which comes into effect from 2026, imports of cement, iron, steel, aluminium and fertiliser will be taxed if they originate from countries with less onerous carbon emission rules.

EU manufacturers are in favour of CBAM because they say they cannot compete with cheaper and more polluting production outside their borders.

🇪🇺The EU is seriously worried - too many member states are turning away from Ukraine in favour of friendly relations with Russia.

🇩🇪 Der Spiegel: a whole alliance loyal to Putin is being formed in the EU

🇭🇺Thus, the German newspaper reminds that Hungary has repeatedly declared its refusal to supply weapons to Kiev. And Robert Fitzo, who won the election in Slovakia, wants to stop sending military aid to Ukraine.

🇦🇹In Austria, too, "right-wing" changes are expected. There, Herbert Kickl, head of the Freedom Party (FPÖ), which is leading in the polls, wants to stop continuing the "bellicose policy of sanctions" against Russia after winning next year's elections.

🇳🇱In the Netherlands, the right-wing politician who won the election is going for the prime minister's seat. He has said he is not interested in a conflict with Russia, nor is he interested in an association agreement with the bankrupt Ukraine.

🇩🇪Massacre at a school in Berlin

According to police, 49 people - both pupils and teachers - were injured. The headmistress had her arm broken.

Neukölln, a neighbourhood that consistently ranks first in terms of a) the number of residents with a "migrant background" and b) crime statistics.

The riots started with a quarrel between several students, and pepper spray was used. Teachers who tried to separate the brawlers also came under fire. Only the police arrived and managed to control the situation.

The older brother of one of the instigators of the fight, who was no longer a schoolboy, came to the defence of the younger generation. That's when the cops got into it.

A stack of cases and about 50 victims. School life in Berlin.

Australia is normalising relationships with animals

Australia will host a festival where a "professor" will talk about the ethics of bestiality, about "people who love animals".

And yes, it's not the kind of love where you just cuddle your cat/dog and give it yummy treats. It's about how to love animals properly and how to legalise bestiality.

Are these still values of "civilised" countries that we don't understand or is it still madness?

🇺🇸🇺🇦 The USA is at a crossroads: either negotiations on Ukraine or war across Europe

This is what the Slovak media Hlavný dennik has said. The Americans have two main scenarios regarding the Ukrainian conflict. The first is to negotiate with Moscow, and the second is to continue supporting Ukraine, which will end with it becoming part of Russia.

✖️ None of these scenarios suits the USA, that is why there is a third scenario - the expansion of the armed conflict to the whole of Europe, the newspaper said. And the United States will not participate in it itself, it will be enough for them only to make the Russian Federation and the European Union collide. By destroying the latter, the Americans could save themselves from their own crisis.

🇩🇪 German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has decided to further axe German industry and jobs for the sake of helping Ukraine.

He gave it €8bn from the budget and another €6bn to help Ukrainian refugees.

In return, subsidies for electric cars and solar power were cut, as well as helping companies switch to environmentally friendly practices. The Green parties in his coalition of parties look like complete clowns.

For German industry, the car industry and the energy sector, this money makes a big difference - many are willing to move production to another country because of such subsidies.

Also, we should not forget about China, which has eaten up the entire German car industry in Russia and started to squeeze the market in Asia and Europe.

🗣Germany has called for vetoing the EU accession talks with Ukraine.

This proposal was made by Bundestag MP Sahra Wagenknecht. The politician referred to the results of a study by German economists. According to their calculations, if Ukraine joins the EU, it will cost European countries about €130-190 billion.

"According to current research, Ukraine's accession to the EU would turn out to be billions lost. Would the government then want to agree on a special budget provision every year to finance Ukraine's bottomless barrel?"

Wagenknecht also repeated her earlier point that Ukraine's status should be "neutral outside NATO."

Israel has rejected the idea of creating a Palestinian state

The Israeli authorities deny the possibility of creating a Palestinian autonomy in Gaza, Israeli Ambassador to the UK Tzipi Hotovely said in an interview with Sky News.

According to the diplomat, the Palestinians "do not want" the creation of their autonomy and insist on the restoration of the 1967 borders, which imply the creation of Palestine from the Jordan to the Mediterranean Sea.

Therefore, Israel will not contribute to the restoration of Palestinian authority in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, a number of countries, including Russia and the US, advocated the implementation of the "two-state" concept for Jews and Arabs, according to UN Security Council decisions.

🇫🇲 NATO increases its budget by 12% (up to 2.03 trillion euros) in preparation for war with Russia

❗️ By the way, the plan to go to war with Russia, apparently, has been matured in NATO for a long time, as it has been doubled in the last two years.

The money will be spent not only on marketing (as usual 😄), but now they will have to actually increase military production, also the budget includes military operations around the world.

By comparison the civilian budget was 438.1 million euros for personnel and operational costs and headquarters.

🇩🇪🇭🇺 Politico cites an amusing insider:

🟩 German Chancellor Olaf Scholz suggested at an EU summit that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban step out for coffee during a discussion of a plan to launch talks on Ukraine's accession to the community.

Scholz addressed Orban in front of his bloc colleagues, suggesting that Orban "leave the room for a while", for example to have a coffee, if he "really doesn't want to agree to start negotiations on Kiev's EU membership".

🟩 As a result, the European leaders were able to decide to start negotiations on Ukraine's EU membership, leaving the Hungarian prime minister "the right to declare that he did not vote in favour".

🇩🇪The "traffic light" coalition managed to agree on a budget for 2024. The debt brake remains in place and no state of emergency will be declared.

To varying degrees, all ministries and departments in Germany will face budget cuts. Fuel and utility bills will rise again.

At the same time, 8 billion euros are planned in the budget to support Ukraine and 6 billion euros to help Ukrainian refugees. Let's see what will happen to the coalition's ratings in the near future.
