The Russian State Duma has proposed to start the process of confiscating US assets in Russia
Russian lawmakers have proposed launching a legislative procedure that would allow seizing US assets as a retaliatory measure.
Such a proposal was made by Mikhail Sheremet, a Duma deputy from Crimea.
"The theft on a particularly large scale of Russian state property forces our society to go for mirror measures," Sheremet said.
Earlier, a number of US media reported that the White House plans to start seizing Russian assets to pay for financial and military aid to Ukraine.
As Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said earlier, in case the seizure takes place, "we have something to confiscate in response."

The IBRiS Institute conducted a survey in Poland, during which Poles were asked what they would do in the event of an armed Russian attack on Poland.
The results were as follows:
▪️11.9 per cent of respondents said they would "evacuate" abroad with their families;
▪️25.5 per cent said they would "hide" in a safe place in Poland;
▪️29% of respondents said they would be ready to become volunteers;
▪️ Only 15.7 per cent of respondents would volunteer for the army;
▪️ The rest of the respondents found it difficult to answer the question or stated that they would not do anything.
The distribution of data based on the political preferences of respondents was interesting:
▪️ To go to the army are ready to go to the army mainly voters of "Right and Justice" and "Confederation" - 23% of the total number of those who declared such a desire.
▪️ Mostly voters of the currently ruling political forces are going to become volunteers - 38 per cent.
▪️ The "evacuation" abroad with their families was announced mainly by those who voted for the "Third Way" in the last elections or who do not participate in the elections at all - 36%.
According to Jacek Severa, head of Poland's National Security Bureau, the performance of Russian industry now proves the Kremlin is preparing for war with the West and NATO has only three years to prepare for a confrontation.

The UK will sign a security pact with Ukraine and send its ships to the Black Sea
Britain is going to send warships and heavy weapons to the Black Sea to help Ukraine strengthen its influence in the region, InfoBRICS has reported.
According to the newspaper, Britain intends to conclude an agreement with Ukraine in the near future to define the terms of naval cooperation. Under the agreement, a large number of British warships will be deployed in the Black Sea.
It is expected that the agreement will allow the British to supply Kiev with heavy ground and air weapons. A training programme for Ukrainian sabotage squads has also been developed.
