Many doctors' offices are expected to remain closed until 2 January in protest of the federal government's health policy. The Virchowbund Medical Association and other professional associations have called for the strike.
According to the professional associations, medicine is being "wasted" and medical practice is being "exterminated." However, the medical service on duty will remain in place.
Lauterbach in turn strongly disagrees with the doctors' demand and wants to try to negotiate.
And this is in anticipation of the farmers' strike on 8 January and the start to an all-German strike from 13 January. Not a bad begging of the new year!

North Korean leader called for intensified preparations for war
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on the second day of the ninth plenum of the central committee of the Workers' Party of Korea called for intensified efforts to prepare for war because of "unprecedented" US intrigues.
"Combat tasks have been set for the People's Army, the military industry, nuclear weapons and civil defence fields to further accelerate the improvement of war preparations," he said.
North Korea launched the Manrigyong-1 reconnaissance satellite on 21 November. A CTAC report at the time emphasised that it would improve the country's preparedness for military action, the likelihood of which is increasing "due to the enemies' highly dangerous military actions".
North Korea later said it would regard interference with the country's satellites as a declaration of war.

American entrepreneur Ilon Musk said that if his proposed 2022 plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine had been adopted, events would have developed under a different scenario.
"Many deaths could have been avoided," - believes the businessman.
Recall that Musk proposed to resolve the conflict by keeping Crimea as part of Russia and repeated referendums under UN supervision in Donbass, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.

Egyptian journalist Mohamed al-Alawi has been found dead in Hurghada. Investigators suspect that he could have been killed by Ukrainian security services on the orders of Vladimir Zelensky, Yeni Şafak reported.
