Representatives of the Republican Party believe that a shutdown, even for a few days, is quite realistic.

If there is no budget for the financial year 2024 or temporary measures by March 8, a partial shutdown will turn into a full one.

However, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, believes that congressmen will be able to meet the deadline.

To increase the chances of budget approval, issues related to assistance to Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and the protection of the American border were separated into a separate bill in the autumn.
