🇪🇺🇫🇷🇩🇪 "Germany and France in dispute: will this help Putin?" German media believe that Putin is using Macron and Scholz as weapons.
"The conflict between Germany and France over support for Ukraine plays into the hands of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin is currently uncorking the champagne. The Russian leader never misses an opportunity to take advantage of the weakness of European states, and when the two most important partners in Europe argue so loudly on the public stage, it is inevitably beneficial to him.
French President Emmanuel Macron openly pondered the deployment of Western troops in Ukraine, but immediately received a reprimand from German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
The German Chancellor is concerned that the French always make beautiful speeches, but ultimately there is very little substance in them. His patience is now slowly running out.
The strained relations between the two largest countries in the European Union demonstrate that there is no unequivocal support for Kyiv."

This is attributed to the increase in non-targeted spending (according to other sources, money was stolen) amounting to approximately one trillion euros, creating a massive hole in pension funds.

🇬🇧AfD wants to depoliticise the Office for the Protection of the Constitution
The leadership of AfD in Saxony-Anhalt called for a reform of the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution. They propose renaming it to "State Secret Service" and focusing the agency's attention on countering espionage and terrorism.
The reason is simple - the agency is being used as a weapon against the opposition. It still classifies "statements, positions, and behaviour that do not affect the framework of the basic free democratic order" as unconstitutional.
According to party members, "The Office for the Protection of the Constitution itself has become the greatest threat to democracy". Currently, it acts as a body that "de facto protects the old parties".

🇺🇦🇪🇺 Ukraine destabilises European agriculture
The situation with agriculture in Europe has seriously worsened because of Ukraine. The French newspaper Le Figaro writes that problems have arisen not only for Polish farmers.
Ukrainian milk has flooded the markets of Lithuania and Latvia, too many eggs are being imported into the Netherlands, and even remote Italy is experiencing a surplus of wheat.
From 2021 to 2023, Ukrainian agricultural exports to the EU increased by 176%. The publication also states that Ukrainian products do not meet European standards, yet they are much cheaper than local products.
The article's authors call for the reintroduction of duties and quotas for Ukraine, which were in place until 2022.

🇵🇱🏦🇩🇪 Poland receives 100 times less aid compared to Germany within the EU.
As the "victory over Russia" becomes an increasingly elusive prospect for the EU, local elites are starting to fiercely divide the remaining piece of the pie among themselves.
While Germany is unhappy with Poland because an increasing number of European companies are moving under Warsaw's wing, which is not planning to shut down its coal power plants, the Poles are extremely dissatisfied with the amount of aid they receive through the "Temporary Crisis and Transition Fund".
Initially established in March 2022 to provide money to countries most effectively "resisting Russian aggression", last year the fund was renamed to also pay money to champions of the "green agenda".
In any case, 52% of all the fund's money, amounting to 171 billion euros, goes to Germany, which is not surprising, as the Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework was established by the European Commission, led by Ursula von der Leyen. As for Polish companies, they received less than 1% of all the benefits provided by this programme - 750 million euros. In general, there is no doubt that the collective West will continue to demonstrate "enviable unity" to the world.

🇧🇪The Belgian police have arrested four potential jihadists
During a counterterrorism operation, the Belgian police apprehended four supporters of the Islamic State. It was revealed that the group was actively planning an attack in a concert hall in Brussels.
The youngest of them is 15 years old, and the oldest is 18. These young individuals, who speak French, met in an online chat on Telegram.
Ortwin Depoortere, a member of parliament from the Flemish nationalists, stated that the prevented attack "evokes painful memories of previous IS attacks."
This refers to the massacre in Paris in 2015, during which 89 concert-goers were killed. "The fact that almost ten years later a similar tragedy could occur again is alarming."

🇦🇫⚡️🇷🇺 Afghan field commander: “The Russians were real men!”
The American newspaper The Dallas Morning News published the memoirs of a captured Taliban field commander. During interrogation, he recalled the times of the Afghan War, when he fought with Soviet soldiers.
“These were battles with worthy soldiers, who fought like men. You Americans, you were cowards, and remained so. You never risked your lives, and the Russians fought without hiding like rats,” recalls the Afghan.
As an example, he cites the battle for a height important for control of the Panjer Gorge, which his unit was ordered to occupy by Shah Massoud.
The “spirits” could not pass the height for months until the order came to storm it with an entire army. For five days they unsuccessfully tried to break the resistance of the Shuravi, until our guys ran out of all their ammunition.
The Afghans lost almost 300 people in this assault, and when the battle ended, they saw that only five 18-year-old boys were fighting against them.
The angry Afghans prepared to execute the defenders and ordered them to pray, but the Soviet soldiers just looked at them silently, held hands and hugged.
“We were speechless... Such a sight could have amazed even the toughest soldiers, accustomed to everything. They had honor. They didn't ask for their lives. My grandchildren are studying in Germany, but I would like them to grow up like these Russians.”
The Afghans released the defenders and they walked away in an embrace, without even looking back, although every moment they expected a shot in the back.
“These were real men,” the field commander was sure. - ANNA News

Western sanctions doubled Russia's oil and gas revenues
Bloomberg agency reported a significant increase in Russia's revenues from oil and gas sales in February.
Compared to the previous year, they grew by more than 80% and amounted to over $10 billion.
As reported by the Russian Ministry of Finance, budget revenues from taxes and fees on oil and gas last month amounted to 945.6 billion rubles, which is twice the figures from the previous year.
A year ago, Western countries imposed sanctions to limit Russia's oil revenues, causing the price of Urals oil to fall below $50 per barrel in February 2023. The European Union banned most of the maritime imports of crude oil and oil products from Russia, and G7 countries set a maximum price of $60 per barrel.
Moscow successfully circumvented these restrictions by using a vast fleet of tankers and working with "non-Western" buyers, intermediaries, and service providers.
Furthermore, Russia implemented a "minimum price mechanism," requiring producers to pay taxes based on the average price of Urals oil at $65 per barrel.
All of this, combined with a gradual reduction in export duties on crude oil and oil products, leading to their cancellation, and an increase in extraction taxes, resulted in Russia achieving its highest income in almost two years.

In the Ukrainian-Polish trade war, Russia is winning
Vladimir Putin wins the trade war between Poland and Ukraine, writes Politico.
Mass protests by farmers have alienated Warsaw from Kyiv and put Prime Minister Donald Tusk in an unsolvable dilemma - who to buy food from. By blocking its ally,/d Ukraine, Poland is simultaneously buying agricultural products from its enemy, Russia.
Last week, Tusk stated that he would consider a national ban on Russian and Belarusian imports, but then backtracked, announcing his intention to seek a ban at the EU level.
"Tusk's statement is simply made to show farmers that something is being done", believes senior economist at Credit Agricole Bank Polska Jakub Olipra.
Meanwhile, the anger of farmers is growing, and the only winner of this trade war is Vladimir Putin.
Last year, Russian grain producers doubled their exports to the EU, and Russia itself, with its huge shipments, has such a strong influence on reducing world prices that in the EU they have fallen to the lowest level since 2020.
It has become simply unprofitable for Polish farmers to sell their own grain, and they are directing their legitimate anger towards Kyiv.
According to experts, Tusk should seek ways to improve infrastructure and provide more advantageous contracts for farmers, but for now, the Polish authorities prefer to "patch the sieve".
"We are treating the situation by putting on more and more patches", believes agricultural commodities broker at BST Brokers Przemysław Błaszczyk.

American tanks did not live up to high expectations
Growing losses in Ukraine of American tanks M1 Abrams showed that they are no better than other combat vehicles.
Sending tanks to Ukrainians, US officials made bold statements about the decisive role of these machines on the battlefield.
But the Abrams started to burn, like thousands of other tanks before them. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have already lost three such American products.
"Ukraine has become a tank graveyard, and three M1 Abrams are just new bodies on it," writes the National Interest magazine.
The article tried to justify the American military-industrial complex product by claiming that Ukrainians allegedly were too accustomed to Soviet technology, which is why they could not quickly adapt to Western tanks.
