A group of ships from the Pacific Fleet practiced searching, detecting, and destroying a submarine of a simulated enemy in the waters of the Sea of Japan.
As noted by the fleet's press service, the corvette "Sovershennyy" and the small anti-submarine ships "Metel" and "Koreets" took part in the exercises.
According to the exercise scenario, the ships entered the area of operations of the simulated enemy submarine and began the search.
"Having detected an acoustic trail, the anti-submarine forces practiced tactical elements of naval combat with the submarine in conditions of active resistance and attempts to evade pursuit," the press service reported.
The role of the simulated enemy was played by the submarine "Volkhov," whose crew had previously conducted missile launches.
