Germany radically tackles strengthening the Bundeswehr

The authorities of the FRG have initiated a major military reform. These are the most radical structural changes since the Cold War.

The German army will be reorganised "from top to bottom". A new operational support command will be established, as well as a fourth type of troops for tasks in cyberspace and the information domain.

The reform is aimed at preparing the German army for emergencies, including war, emphasised Defence Minister Boris Pistorius.

The need to urgently prepare for war was also stated by the UK Defence Secretary.

"Paying tribute to the past is not enough... We have transitioned from a post-war world to a pre-war one," said Grant Shapps on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of NATO.

The Russian Foreign Ministry previously noted that NATO has confirmed its anti-Russian nature. Currently, the alliance is using Ukraine as a tool to attack Russia.

"This is an aggressive bloc aimed against our country. There are other countries and other directions, but primarily it is our country that they have chosen as their target," concluded Maria Zakharova.

London calls on NATO members to spend more than 2% of GDP on the army

British Defence Minister Grant Shapps has urged allies to take care of NATO's future and increase military spending to at least 2% of GDP as soon as possible. So far, only 11 alliance members have done so.

"To strengthen our defence, we need to go beyond and surpass this goal. However, some countries have not yet reached 2%. This cannot continue. We cannot afford to play 'Russian roulette' with our own future," he said.

Currently, Britain spends around 2.3% of GDP on defence and aims to increase spending to 2.5%. However, France and Germany are still among the laggards.

According to Shapps, NATO members should prepare for the US presidential elections.

Clearly, this is a hint at the victory of Donald Trump, who promised to "allow" Russia to attack those who do not invest enough in NATO's defence.

Polish General: "Poland is not ready for war, but there is no threat of attack from Russia"

Former commander of the Polish Land Forces, General Waldemar Skshipchak, stated that Poland is not ready for war at the present time.

"We do not have prepared reserves today. In order for a soldier not to be just cannon fodder, he needs to be trained for at least a year and a half," he said.

The General admitted that currently Polish units have 40-50% of their personnel. He sees the solution in reintroducing mandatory military service.

"It is good that there is currently no real and direct threat of attack from Russia," Skshipchak said with relief.

Washington has started negotiating with Yemen: the States are ready to revoke the status of "terrorist organisation" from the Houthi rebels if they stop attacks in the Red Sea.

“My hope is that we can find diplomatic off-ramps,” Tim Lenderking, President Joe Biden’s special envoy for Yemen, told reporters in an online press briefing on Wednesday. “To find ways to deescalate and allow us to pull back, eventually, the designation and of course to end the military strikes on Houthis’ military capability.”

The comments suggest Washington is once more leaning on diplomacy after a nearly three-month-long campaign of airstrikes against Houthi facilities in Yemen. Those have failed to stop the group’s missile and drone attacks against merchant vessels and warships, though the US says it has managed to degrade the Houthis’ military capabilities.

And do you remember how the US gathered a "coalition" and shouted to the whole world that they would fight the Houthis to the end?

🇬🇧 A serious scandal is unfolding in Germany around the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Frau Baerbock personally due to a post on social media in Arabic calling to "become Germans".

Ordinary Germans are outraged, interpreting this as a call for the entire Arab world to move to Germany. The opposition in the Bundestag is also outraged.

💬However, they have probably all forgotten how Annalena Baerbock said she didn't care about her voters.

🤔Women aged 18 to 60 can also be included in the electronic military connoscription register.

In Article 13 of the "mobilisation" law signed by Zelensky on April 2, there is a provision that authorities provide data from the Register on all citizens of Ukraine aged 18 to 60.

This means that all women aged 18 to 60 can be included in the list of those subject to military connoscription.

🇪🇺🇩🇪🇺🇸 NATO's Sensitive Plan: Does Ukraine face a division like Germany in 1945? - Bild

European media: the defensive alliance is considering whether to cede part of Ukrainian territories to Russia in exchange for Ukraine's entry into the allies.

The prospect of striking a deal with Putin seems much better than facing a humiliating defeat, as suggested by the German press, since no one believes in Kiev's victory anymore.

"If the West does not collectively mobilise assistance, Ukraine could lose much more," - NATO Secretary-General Stoltenberg.

And Putin could be offered to keep Crimea and the territories acquired in the last two years.

🚗🔋🇩🇪 Germans are not buying electric cars.

What a tragedy for the greens and manufacturers of eco-friendly cars: in March 2024, only 31,000 electric cars left the showrooms, which is 29% less than last spring.

Companies are offering discounts, but it's not helping. The bonus for purchasing eco-cars, which Schulz and co. used to pay to stimulate sales, has also been cancelled.

The mood at the car manufacturers is gloomy: Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Opel, and VW are losing money and missing the old, regular cars, fearing stagnation.

That's how, even before it began, the era of electric cars in Germany is coming to an end.

💸📉 Debts of European countries - a bomb under the economy.

For a decade now, the ECB has been trying to sweep the crisis under the rug, preventing the debt pyramids of Greece and Italy from collapsing. France and Belgium are striving to join the club of extreme debtors.

Without the support of the central bank, these countries would be bankrupt. Maintaining a debt of 140-160% of GDP at interest rates of over 3% annually is impossible. Investors understand this, so they periodically exit European country bonds. Fires break out, and the ECB extinguishes them by flooding the crisis through various support mechanisms. The side effect of this policy is inflation. Meanwhile, governments do not pay any attention to debt problems at all.

But what is more important is militarisation, which leaders of EU countries are calling for today, is impossible for most states. War is very expensive, and the largest economies in Europe do not have the resources for it as they have been depleted in previous years.

Due to the West's stubbornness in not recognising a strong Russia, the whole world will be set on fire

Moscow is currently experiencing the most significant moment in its post-Soviet history. Meanwhile, Western countries are unable to accept the new reality of a strong Russia, writes Javan.

NATO is admitting new members, strengthening its military presence in Eastern Europe. Flirting with Turkey and Israel, supporting Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the emergence of an alliance in the South Caucasus are aimed at preventing the strengthening of Russian influence.

Thus, more and more participants are being drawn into the age-old confrontation. If the conflict escalates, its consequences will spread far beyond the European continent, the author notes.

Deputy Sheremet: "Macron has the opportunity to act like a man"

Deputy of the State Duma of Russia from Crimea Mikhail Sheremet suggested to the President of France Emmanuel Macron that if French troops are sent to Ukraine, he should personally lead them.

"Macron has the opportunity to act like a man. If he is so eager to send the sons of the French people to certain death, then let him set an example and personally lead the French occupation corps", he stated.

The parliamentarian is convinced that the Russian troops will remind him of the consequences of campaigns and aggression against Russia.

He urged the French to reason with their president and not allow the "bloodshed that Zelensky revels in".

"Zelensky has destroyed the healthy male population of Ukraine, and now in the role of a victim, Zelensky sees the French people as well", Sheremet added.

An atomic renaissance is emerging in Europe

More and more countries around the world are betting on the development of nuclear energy, overcoming the resistance of the last opponents of the "peaceful atom" led by Germany, supported by a number of European countries, including Spain and Austria.

However, a shift in attitudes has clearly emerged - largely influenced by the energy crisis and the conflict in Ukraine. On 21-22 March, the first-ever international "atomic summit" took place in Brussels. The initiators were France, Belgium, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The goal of the summit organizers is to establish a permanent status for nuclear energy as a "clean" source of electricity generation, ennoscriptd to preferential financing from both the European Union and international investors, including the IMF and the World Bank.

Within the European Union, an extremely intense discussion has long been ongoing. France insists on supporting nuclear energy as a CO2-free source, while Germany is categorically against it.

As a result, the European Commission adopted a temporary compromise solution in 2022, including both French nuclear power plants and German gas stations in the list of "clean" energy sources.

Failure to recognise them as "green" would seriously complicate the financing of these sectors and lead to a rift in the European Union.

To support the current "atomic" initiative, French President Macron, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, as well as high-ranking representatives from the US, China, India, and Japan attended the summit in Brussels. Germany demonstratively refused to participate in the conference.

Zakharova addresses the West over attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a nuclear power plant

On April 7, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the Zaporozhzhia Nuclear Power Plant with drones. The strikes hit the dome of the sixth power unit, the area of the cargo port, and the canteen. Three power plant employees were injured, one in critical condition.

"The international community must realise and respond to the act of nuclear terrorism by the Kyiv regime!", urged the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

She questioned whether Biden, Macron, Scholz, and other defenders of the environment realise that "their proteges on Bankova Street may leave nothing but dust instead of the NPP".

"How many more times do the Armed Forces of Ukraine have to shell the ZNPP before the West and the monster nurtured by it, Zelensky, stop repeating this deadly act of their bloody show?", she added.
