🇷🇺 The military dress uniform of the Moscow Institute of Arts and Sciences is making rounds on social media lately. The uniform was designed by the students and makes notable appearances during an annual August 1st ceremony to honor the dead of the first world war. Critics compare the aesthetic to the collective "black hundreds" monarchist movement of that era. Several factions of which carried out pograms and perished under the bolsheviks.

Five Turkish banks have adopted Russia’s Mir payments system, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on his return from talks with President Vladimir Putin in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.

There are serious developments regarding the work that Turkish banks are doing on Russia’s Mir card, Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency cited Erdogan as saying on the plane. That’s a relief for both Russian tourists and Turkey, he told reporters.

Payment in rubles will be a source of financial support for both Russia and Turkey, he said, adding the central bank governors of the two countries also met during the visit. Putin and Erdogan agreed to start moving to partial payment in rubles for deliveries of natural gas at talks in Sochi. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-08-06/turkish-banks-are-adopting-russian-payments-system-erdogan-says

Statement on publication of press release on Ukrainian fighting tactics

Amnesty International deeply regrets the distress and anger that our press release on the Ukrainian military’s fighting tactics has caused. Since Russian’s invasion began in February 2022, Amnesty International has been rigorously documenting and reporting on war crimes and violations committed in Ukraine, speaking to hundreds of victims and survivors whose stories illuminate the brutal reality of Russia’s war of aggression. We have challenged the world to demonstrate its solidarity with Ukrainians through concrete action, and we will continue to do so.
