Russia is being routed in Ukraine? Their collapse is imminent?

Maybe according to the Marvel comics version of the war in the Atlantic.

The bets countries like Saudi Arabia are making say different.

"The consequences of equating the enemy with a criminal who should be punished, are therefore considerable. ‘That ends,’ writes Jean François Kervégan, ‘in the transformation of international law into an annex of the penal code, and war into a police action aimed at repressing the guilty.’[66] The repression of crimes and offences being traditionally under the jurisdiction of the police, the military gradually assumes the character of a police force. Already in 1904 Theodore Roosevelt declared that in the future the United States could indeed find itself forced to ‘exercise [the power] of the international police.’[67] In the period between the wars, at the time of the Kellogg-Briand Pact (1928), the ‘prohibition of war’ would lead belligerents to redefine their interventions as so many international police actions in order to avoid the criminalisation of their enterprises. Today, notably in the context of the war on terror, we are witnessing a revealing blurring of the distinction between police and army: while the police are increasingly made to ensure internal order by military means, the army undertakes wars which are regularly presented as international police actions."

Watched some of the debate on Ukraine vs Russia that Joel Davis hosted the other night and a thought crossed my mind:

Both the USSR and the United States were aligned in destroying the crumbling remnants of European Empires post WW2. Many think it was just the British that lost their Empire and forget that other countries like France and Portugal also came under the same pressures. Both the new global powers were pretty united in their rhetoric - that white minority rule in these places was racist and had to end. The Russians wanted Communism to replace it and the US of course placed hopes in 'Democracy'.

Both conspired to destroy Rhodesia and once that was done both turned on South Africa. These were both countries built by Whites. (As an aside many on the Right, even the 'far Right' are woefully uneducated on just what the Boer settlers accomplished in settling much of South Africa). Neither got support from the super powers of the time (laughably Israel in spite of everything maintained probably the best relations with South Africa for a small period of time) and in truth it was amazing how long both countries held on in the face of such enemies. They had real defiance. That was true resistance, standing alone against both enemies.

Sometimes I think that was the last glorious stand of our people...

I believe it is Kevin McDonald who has done research on the individualist streak prevalent in Europeans and been honest in looking at how that trait has influenced us and the consequences of that. By the same token there was once that Faustian spirit present that drove us forward to conquer and control land and other peoples. Some today would call it misguided, that we created many of the problems we now face but we should always be honest about its existence even if it is relegated to the past.

Cujus regio ejus religio.
Cujus regio ejus natio.
Cujus regio ejus oeconomica.
Cujus regio ejus ideologica.
Cujus regio ejus praeco.

"He who rules decides..."
These few axioms give an idea of the extent of decision in various states. In spatial terms the power of decision is much greater in the ordering of religion than in ideology; the ground of the nation has a destructive capacity and range of conflict that is not possible with the news. At the same time, the news relates to the nation in a way that myth, theology, literature, and art cannot. "Only a newspaper can deposit the same thought in a thousand minds at once." And only a myth can impose an absolute moment of mystery in a thousand minds, make a thousand ideas pregnant with meaning at once.

In war the strength of decision and capacity for mobilisation is raised to the highest. All of the violence, on and off the battlefield, erupts to face the immediate, the incursion into sovereignty by an enemy and a third, neutralising territory. War is a national reversal in life just as tragedy is in death. Only myth, with its onrushing meaning and metamorphoses can explain this – the danger of a third territory and death of a nation.

The news can only refer defeat, as in the world wars when the newspapers became overwhelmed with obituaries. Such frequency of death, a war that can never end, can never have anything like the recitation of a Catalogue of Ships. The Unknown Soldier is an Achilles in the underworld, and cannot be visited by an Odysseus.

Here one may begin to see why nationalists, just like the post-nationalists, cannot think the myth of war – only news or professional wrestling are capable of communicating his relation to war. Xenophon describes a dance of soldiers, the carpaea, with one side playing the part of farmers and the other the barbarians. "A man is sowing and driving a yoke of oxen, his arms laid at one side, and he turns about frequently as one in fear; a robber approaches; as soon as the sower sees him coming, he snatches up his arms, goes to meet him, and fights with him to save his oxen." The readiness of the farmer for war is mixed up in the aesthetics of the dance in a dionysian, or empedoclean, way. With his weapons ready-to-hand the farmer can immediately become a warrior, just as the warriors performing the dance use it as a secondary type of training and drilling. Or perhaps it is the primary training. The noscripted and fake fighting of professional wrestlers is ideal because they represent figures for whom true struggle is never possible, for whom war is little more than entertainment, the relaying of events in the backyards of Turkey. It is something even less than the news, a dance of death for those who think they will never have to face it.

Now *this* is the way to discuss terrorism & the West's hypocrisy in claiming Russian "terrorism".

"There is nothing constructive about the pot calling the kettle black. If the EU is going to start naming "state sponsors of terrorism," let's do it... Let's recognise West-sponsored terrorism too, and make sure 🇺🇲🇬🇧🇫🇷🇪🇺 and their pals 🇮🇱🇹🇷🇸🇦 & the rest are all on the list."

The Franco-Prussian War is perhaps the seminal conflict of the modern era insofar as it highlights the value of incorporating new forms of organization, logistics, and industry to quickly mobilize, seize the initiative, and conquer the enemy. Marshal von Moltke was a visionary for his time. He was able to synthesize technology and the soldierly prowess of the Prussian army to score decisive victories and advance the interests of the German Empire.

Pure force is essential to the great man, yet where he fails, where he presses on to a less than tragic defeat, there is an incapacity for introspection. This is what divides the great man from the hero, the inability to turn away. What separates Achilles from all the other heroes is the total force with which he turns away, his meditation on life and fate is equal to all the other battles. Combined with the immediacy of decision, it is greater.

Julius Evola's article in honor of Kamikaze pilots that I translated into English from the Italian article “Roma” that he wrote on the 11th of December 1957:

Many readers will already know who the Kamikaze were. This name was given to those Japanese aviators who in the last war with a load of explosives threw themselves together with the aircraft on enemy ships to blow them up. Much has been said about these "death volunteers", now with admiration, now with horror.

But the full meaning of this initiative has not always been grasped, indeed unprecedented in history: because this is the first case of a systematically studied and organized tactic involving the certain death of the combatants, applied not in sporadic cases, near forms of exaltation. heroic individual, but for a long time and with a properly trained special corps.

MOSCOW, October 23. /TASS/. The situation in Ukraine was the focus of telephone talks between Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu and Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, the second ones in the past three days, the Russian defense ministry said on Sunday.

"Telephone talks between Russian Defense Minister Army General Sergey Shoigu and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. The two defense ministers discussed the situation in Ukraine," the ministry said.

The two defense chiefs spoke over the phone on Friday. The call was initiated by the US side.

Earlier in the day, Shoigu spoke over the phone with his British, French and Turkish counterparts, Ben Wallace, Sebastien Lecornu and Hulusi Akar, to convey Russia’s concerns over possible provocations with the use of a dirty bomb in Ukraine.

The topic of Ukraine’s nuclear blackmail was raised by Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, who said earlier that Kiev has planned to make a dirty bomb of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
