As part of @StationF, we're going to point out that ZKPs by themselves are a fairly fragile cryptographic construction that can't actually "beat" surveillance capitalism, as ALL your network metadata is still exposed.

Hey everyone, a little update for you on what has been going on with the network in the last couple of days.

Since Tuesday we have been seeing some DOS attack on the network, this time our funny pal has been flooding the validator with topology and node registration requests. We have now blocked that behaviour by rate limiting the requests on the validator.

So now getting topologies are limited to 1 request every ~10s, registration/unregistration (together) to 2 requests per 1 minute and all else to 1 request per second. If someone is running a legit node, they should never be bothered with those limits anyway.

For those of you who have their nodes removed from the network, sorry for the hassle, but if you want to get your nodes back on, you will need to restart them using the run command.

For our funny pal, you are doing us a great favour, keep at it! :)
