Big Brother loses his sight

England is on the verge of shutting down the World Economic Forum's "15 Minute Cities" programme after almost all the cameras were destroyed and 50,000 people refused to pay the fines. Cameras cannot be protected if the police refuse to take action. The courts are not in a position to convict so many people.

All city cameras have been destroyed. Cheers to the Blade Runners: this activist group has neutralised 90% of the cameras installed under a zero-emission scheme that penalises vehicles that fail to meet standards.

Dear Friends and Followers of the work of Dr. James DeMeo,

My name is Tom DiFerdinando. I was a close friend and part time lab assistant of Dr. DeMeo's for well over twenty years.

As many of you already know, sadly, Dr. DeMeo has died. While his death has been no secret, there has been no official public announcement of his passing until now. The delay was due to safety, administrative and other practical concerns.

Sometime in the Fall of 2021, Dr. DeMeo discovered something wasn't right, and in Feb of 2022 a scan showed he had developed a colon cancer. The condition was more serious and more advanced than he realized and got out of control. He died on April 3rd, 2022. I was with him at the end, over the last two weeks of his life, and will in time write up the full and tragic details of the situation.

Just to head off any potential questions or misunderstandings, as many have naturally asked, there was no evidence of foul play of any kind. Like I said, I was with him nearly every moment over those last two weeks. He had simply gotten seriously ill, and while tending to too many other important matters in his life at the time, things got out of control and he died. Numerous measures were taken to try and ameliorate the process, but it was too late. It was truly heartbreaking.

At his direction, I was left in charge of administering his estate, and taking over the directorship of the Orgone Biophysical Reseach Lab (OBRL). My main responsibilities were to keep Dr. DeMeo's many excellent books in print, and to protect and eventually make available to the public and interested scholars his extensive archives.

The responsibilities related to the OBRL were part of the reason for the delay in my official announcement. After he died, the number one concern was the safety and security of Dr. DeMeo's lab and archives. Outstanding as his work and research was, it is also no secret he had enemies, as do many workers in the field of orgonomy, Wilhelm Reich's science of the biological, armospheric and cosmic life energy.

My first task was to secure the lab and move the archives to an undisclosed and protected location. Next was to administer the estate, and take the legal steps necessary to make official my new leadership role at the OBRL. In the upcoming weeks, I will post more detail concerning the future of the organization. It is certainly not dead and the work is already continuing.

The focus of the new OBRL will obviously shift, since Dr. DeMeo is gone. However, neither the standards, integrity nor full-on committment to the authentic work and discoveries of Dr. Wilhelm Reich - and now Dr. James DeMeo - will be compromised in any fashion whatsoever. Dr. DeMeo and I were very much on "the same page" in nearly all matters. It was one of the reasons I developed a working relationship with him in the first place. And while he was certainly the senior authority, there was a deep and mutual respect and heartfelt appreciation between us up until the very end.

One last thing I will mention. While his main concern was that his books be kept in print and his archives preserved, Dr. DeMeo pretty much left it up to me as to what I wanted to do with his West Coast lab. He was even ok with me shutting it down; after all, it's main function was to support him and his research.

In the last days of his life, I proposed to move a small version of the lab East, since I live on the East Coast. I said the central goal of the new OBRL would to be to find and inspire a future generation of workers in orgonomy - many of the past leaders and true workers in the field are already gone, and the majority of those who remain are not getting any younger. For that, he gave me his blessing.

Realstically speaking, that "new generation" likely means only a handful of individuals - maybe even only one or two. As history shows, there are few in today's world who have the passion, energy, and deep appreciation for this amazing but challenging science and what it has to offer a troubled humanity. The work is controversial, can provoke emotional challenges within the workers themselves, and is not easy. It is also the only science that links the emotional health of the scientist to the success of the research. As Dr. DeMeo himself pointed out, students of orgonomy tend to be among the best and the brightest.

Reich's science is life-changing. It is amazing, truly exciting and profoundly moving. When working with the life energy one is in essence working with the full reach of our humanity, our creativity and our capacity to love. There is no doubt there are new generations who would love and embrace it, if they only knew it existed! Even though much of the world is armored, malnourished and confused, when not being environmentally poisoned or getting drugged out of emotional contact, orgonomic truth can touch and begin to reaquaint one with one's biological core. Core contact is the key. So the outreach, educational and research functions of the OBRL will absolutely continue, and are already growing and developing.

To that end, I will also be asking those of means who are equally excited about this work and its future potential, and who are moved to help support and contribute to our efforts, to make any substantial contribution they can. Bequests are also a big help, and are part of what supported Dr. DeMeo's work and the growth of his lab over the years. Any amount truly helps. If you are a person of means, please seriously consider to support our work and research by making a substantial donation at the bottom of the OBRL homepage ( orgonelab.org ). Any amount is deeply appreciated.

More information to come.

My deepest condolences to those on this list who actually knew Dr. DeMeo, and to all other of his many supporters. He was a major, charasmatic and productive force in orgonomy, and is profoundly missed. My apologies for the long silence. It was truly in the name of preserving and protecting Dr. DeMeo's work and legacy.

OBRL Seminar Videos now On-Line at Vimeo
Over summer and fall of 2020, I created a new account on Vimeo.com, to present the OBRL - Orgone Biophysical Research Lab's Video Archive. Into that on-line Archive are now transferred our first batch of original videos, from a 2015 Seminar hosted by OBRL, and held at Southern Oregon University. These were digitally transferred into edited renditions that are now available for viewing at Vimeo. The 2015 Seminar videos present 8 different approximately one-hour lectures by myself and by Tom DiFerdinando, another long-time worker in orgonomy.
The portal-entry weblink to this new Vimeo OBRL Video Archive can be found here:
In these newly-released seminar videos are presented basic historical details of Reich's work, expanding on relevant new research which has supported or exactly verified his scientific findings. New connections and insights abound, and are presented in ordinary language for both the serious professional, as well as educated layperson.
Mr. DiFerdinando's three lectures on "Connecting the Blue Dots" are fascinating materials, revealing Reich's discovery of the blue orgone energy as a common functioning principle across the realms of biology, atmosphere and astronomy.
In my own lectures, included are some previously-unpublished materials, specifically my efforts to capture orgone energy motions, of flimmering, streaming motions and orgone units, as observed in the OBRL Orgone Darkroom, and in the open atmosphere. Those and a few other things are only now being made public, and are mixed into the videos in discussions on Reich's history and discoveries. My better-known experimental papers verifying Reich's orgonomic science are also discussed, and of course, the orgone accumulator, Saharasia and my cloudbusting work in Africa and Israel, are likewise presented. The videos should be of great interest for both newbies to orgonomy, as well as to the the "old hands".
We never had a professional videographer to operate the cameras in the most optimal manner, nor were our video cameras always the "best, most up to date" technology -- the originals in the OBRL Archive are a mix of original u-matic, BetacamSP, VHS, Hi-8, Digital8, and more recently 1080p video. The older formats have been digitally upgraded and edited on Mac Final Cut Studio Pro software, with higher-quality still images, or sub-movies, added in to match the lecturer's video slides.
There is a small charge to access the seminar videos, about $50 for all 8 seminar videos (the original cost was much higher plus your hotel, food and transport). These can now be viewed by on-line streaming at the Vimeo website, but not downloaded so as to preserve our copyrights. One can pay to view any or all the videos over a 30-day period, or view them separately, one at a time for a lesser fee, within a 48-hour window.
There also are some open-access items for free viewing, including an introductory trailer for the OBRL Archive. All payments go to the non-profit Orgone Biophysical Research Lab, towards covering the considerable costs of making and the Vimeo-hosting of these videos, with any excess funds going towards the on-going OBRL research.
I plan to add additional lecture videos of orgonomically-topical lectures by myself and others who came and lectured at OBRL over the years, as well as some unique items donated to OBRL.
To view the paid-for videos, you must make a free account with Vimeo (email and password is required to start), and there also is a "receive updates" weblink to sign up for email notifications of later additions to the OBRL Archive. They can also be viewed on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, and Chromecast.
After 50+ years of work in social, historical and experimental orgonomy, there is quite a lot to share with the younger generations, who basically know more of the distortions and slanders about Wilhelm Reich and orgonomy, than the enduring truths.
Please bookmark, and share this email and the URL link within your own circles of contacts.
Thanks much, and best wishes,

"Decades ago the psychatrist Wilhelm Reich wrote about "Homo Normalis", that portion of sleeping humanity that had no concepts of what motivated their own inner desires and impulses, which were largely neurotic in character, or psychotic, sociopathic, and self- or other-destructive in various ways. He watched in horror as the masses of Europeans segregated into Nazi-supporters or Communist-Marx-Lenin-Stalin supporters, in basically functionally-identical manners. He termed the Nazi branch of that emotional-social-political split "Black Fascism", and the Communist branch "Red-Fascism". Both were totalitarian and would do or say anything as was necessary to increase their social and military power, as well as to control the mass-media, insuring only their own narrow ideologies were being printed or broadcast.
"The term "Mass Psychosis" by itself, without the additional tag of "formation", is a long-used term to describe what happens in conventional psychology when people collectively lose their minds, so I cannot figure why the term "Mass Formation Psychosis" is siezed upon as something new or different. It isn't and indeed leaves out central factors in motivation of human impulses as Reich originally identified, such as how in totalitarian societies, State Structure mirrored Family Structure, with all the same sexual and emotional chaos as exists within loveless armored marriages and families. Just look up his writings on the "Emotional Plague" or "Black/Red Fascism".
"However one defines it, most certainly there is a large proportion of the world, including the Western Democracies, who have fallen into this gaping emotional-mental trap, most decidedly today characteristically on the "Red Fascist" side of things. There is little but old history remaining of "Black Fascism", though the political left will object mightly to my assertion. However by Reich's dictum - "One must separate those who fight for their own freedoms (non-Communism) from those who wish to take away the freedoms of others (Communists)" - their counter arguments ring hollow, with my various postings below carrying a considerable weight of evidence against them. Denial is one of the chief characteristics of the neurotic or psychotic, or sociopathic character, to anything that would point out their self-destructive or other-destructive behavior. So while the Communist Democrats organize for laws that would put their critics into prisons, by arbitrary declarations of their top leaders, and force lockdowns on national populations, along with forced masking and vaccinations, the non-Communist rebellious factions have no such desires against their critics, and mostly just want to be left alone, not be fired from jobs for capricious and arbitrary reasons, and not take toxic deadly vaccines into their bodies. Reich called it the Mass Psychology of (Black/Red) Fascism. Today, a similar process is identified in a new Mass Psychosis of the Communist Left, if you will, as that is where such madhouse destructive behavior springs forth. And so they are in serious denial about their own violent and destructive impulses. They also rush to censor anything they disagree with, that would bring to their conscious mind all that undermines the totality of their destructive world-views and agendas. Their opposition has plenty of "homo-normalis" neuroses, but in generall carries themselves in a far more productive and cooperative, truly social and healthy, life-positive manner. WIth few exceptions, want more self-regulation, liberty and freedom, not less. The Left has literally lost its mind, and now wallows about in decidedly totalitarian stupor of power-drunkenness."

"Great exposition of the underlying motivations. The new term "mass psychosis formation" is helpful as it puts this hysteria and obedience on psychoanalytic footing but leaves out the sexual stages in the family milieu, armor, etc. About the severe denial we are seeing: I have a few acquaintances who are provax, and we argue up to the point where I show them VAERS data. That is when they "disappear" or accuse me of fabricating this data."

Really? Of course not they are only trained in the Rockafella system that goes something like this; make you sick, keep you sick, treat you, kill you, and charge you for the luxury!

Err, I beg to differ and I have seen the results of my own patients! A clean nutrient dense organic diet and detox and eliminating other toxins in the water environment and all personal care and cleaning products in the home… Sorts it out! This is all about selling more pharmaceutical drugs.

Ola Raknes

1) His Biography:

Born in Bergen, Norway, Ola Raknes was a psychologist, philologist, and non-fiction author who lived from 17 January 1887 to 28 January 1975. He was a well-known psychoanalyst in the Reichian tradition. He has been described as someone who has devoted his entire life to facilitating the exchange of ideas between various epistemological systems of reference, including science and religion, and through a variety of languages. He was actively contributing to Norwegian public dialogue for significant stretches of his life. He has also received praise for his contributions to the development and popular use of the Nynorsk language. Raknes was regarded as a controversial therapist and a thorough philologist. He was well-known around the world as one of Wilhelm Reich’s closest followers and defenders.
Ola Raknes

2) Main Themes:

Characteranalytic Vegetotherapy:

Raknes placed a strong emphasis on supporting clients in assisting themselves in living and working to release the intrinsic predisposition for development, the “free growth”. By removing the barriers and hindrances in the way, this might be accomplished. This was made possible when the person learnt to recognise themselves, together with their thoughts, feelings, and impulses. Integrating body sense was crucial in order to feel what one desired and give in to it if nothing significant abated it.

Raknes cited Wilhelm Reich’s definition of life as a continuous process with rhythmical shifts between mechanical tension, bioenergetic charge, bioenergetic discharge, and mechanical relaxation in the article “Life and Religion”. There, he wrote: “Most people are going to need a certain amount of practice in noticing their own bodily states before they can experience this life rhythm. But then they are clearly going to experience it, in particular in two guises: in the rhythmical flow that penetrates the entire body when it is able to freely go along with the breathing, and particularly intense in the state popularly called ‘living together’, that is in the sexual orgasm”.
Ola Raknes

2) Main Themes:

Free child rearing:

Ola Raknes was a great supporter of giving children independence so they could choose their own experiences rather than having adults dictate how they should interpret the world. “Children always pick their own ideals. As soon as we put up ideals for them, they will start cheating on themselves. They are the ones who should make the choice”, he stated.

In an essay in the book Fri Vokster (“Free growth”), Raknes elaborates on how he, as a psychologist, sees the child’s developmental dynamics as being critically dependent on being given the opportunity to learn for itself to regulate such matters for example using the restroom, what and when to eat, and when and how much to sleep, through experiencing and by practising without the adults encouraging the child on.

Raknes thought that children should learn about moral principles such as not harming others or refraining from stealing, on their own, and not through parental warnings or restrictions: “I believe that when a child lies, it is because it has been punished for telling the truth. And when it steals, it is because it feels neglected in one way or another. […children] steal the love that isn’t given to them”. Raknes suggested, for instance, that it would be acceptable if the parents explained why humans wage war on one another and where this can go, but that they should let the child decide what to make of it all.
Ola Raknes

2) Main Themes:

The child in each of us:

Ola Raknes concentrated so heavily on the child in his educational endeavours to promote values and as a therapist, even though he primarily treated adult patients. The article “Life and Religion”, the book “Fri Vokster”, his therapy, and the way he was himself, all focused on the child, the child in the adult and the child in itself. In the centre and teeming with life, the child which is free of sentimentality and childishness.

Rolf Gronseth, a friend and fellow student of his, said of him that Ola Raknes showed this kid within himself in his enthusiasm and joy and in pride in himself, as it can be seen in youngsters but that has been lost in most adults – but that he paired this with an extraordinary degree of solemn attitude. He viewed things plainly and simply, and he gave them labels that everyone could comprehend. Although it would be simple to mistake him for being naive, he actually had a wide perspective. He also found the use of force and the oppression of others to be abhorrent.

‘I too must be permitted to pass away at some point’, Ola Raknes reportedly remarked to his friend and fellow student Rolf Gornseth. A few days after turning 88, towards the end of January 1975, he passed away from a brief case of pneumonia. “The clarity of thought and emotion, conveyed through many languages, the ability to simplify with a taste for the big and significant parts of it all together with a genuine modesty and complete absence of ambitions for power made it a distinctive and a big experience to meet Ola Raknes”, says Einar Dannevig, summarising his impression of Ola Raknes as a man of spirit.
Ola Raknes

3) Orgonomy:

Raknes acknowledged that the Wilhelm Reich orgone theory, which expanded Freud’s idea of libido to include a general life energy that Reich called orgone, wasn’t fully supported by the natural sciences’ requirements for proof, but he believed that it must have some validity based on his own observations and experiences. A few years before his passing, Wilhelm Reich wrote the book Wilhelm Reich and orgonomy, in which he discusses the theory and its consequences for several scientific fields as well as for society in an accessible and illuminating way.

Raknes saw for himself during a 1953 visit to Reich’s estate “Orgonon” in Maine how Reich was allegedly able to employ this energy to create rain using a so-called cloudbuster, a technological device that is believed to focus and project orgone energy: The meteorological forecast indicated that the drought in this area, which had been ongoing for weeks, would continue to affect the Eastern United States. Reich then set the device at a specific location in the sky and turned it on for an hour and a half. He claimed that if everything is put up properly, rain should start to fall in 8–9 hours. And quite rightly too. After 8 hours, there was an 8-hour downpour that streamed across the area around the equipment, covering several tens of square kilometres.

Raknes visited Reich in the US six times after the war in order to keep his knowledge and abilities up-to-date with the advancement of Reich’s theories and practises. Then, when he got back to Norway, he would try to duplicate as many of the observations and experiments he had seen in Reich’s lab—experiments that laid the groundwork for the identification of bions and orgone energy in the human body.

Raknes believed that what Reich had discovered was what others had already known but had called it animal magnetism, chi, or prana instead. Additionally, Raknes thought that telepathy and clairvoyance were actual phenomena and that only dogmatism and narrow-mindedness could lead scientists to reject them.

He thought that further study and research into orgone energy would help to explain these phenomena. Raknes was drawn to the orgone theory because of his longstanding curiosity and interest in the history of religions, the religious experience, and how it affects people. He believed that the orgone theory could help to shed light on these topics on a scientific foundation. In addition, he believed that it represented an enlargement of therapeutic intervention, moving from being a restricted form of psychotherapy to meriting the moniker of biotherapy.
Ola Raknes

4) His Contribution to Psychoanalysis:

Ola Raknes was constantly looking for ways to improve therapeutic methods. He was also unsatisfied with traditional psychoanalytical explanations for man’s basic instincts, drives, and aggression. Additionally, he was dubious of Freud’s psychological dualism of these opposing basic drives, which initially moved between the instinct for sexuality and self-preservation and later between the life instinct (Eros) and the death instinct (Thanatos). Ola Raknes first heard the name Wilhelm Reich while he was living in Berlin, but it would be years before he really read anything by Reich. His studies of Freud and other “traditional” psychoanalysts were still very active.

After Reich’s book Charakteranalyse was published in 1933, Ola Raknes started to seriously consider following Reich’s teachings. After finishing that book, Raknes immersed himself in Reich’s Zeitschrift für politische Psychologie und Sexualökonomie, followed by Reich’s essays in numerous psychoanalytical magazines. Ola Raknes found it all to be really fascinating and insightful, but this did not prompt him to alter either his fundamental beliefs or his psychotherapy approach.

At the gathering of Scandinavian psychoanalysts in Oslo over Easter in 1934, Ola Raknes first encountered Wilhelm Reich. This strong personality greatly struck Raknes, and the clarity with which he presented himself during discussions of the core ideas of the issues he explored and, in his presentations, helped Raknes get a better grasp of many things. The psychoanalytical theories of Freud served as Wilhelm Reich’s starting point, but as early as 1925, he began developing his theory of sex economy based on observations made while working as a volunteer at his Vienna counselling centre for people with sexual problems. This work would continue until 1938.

Raknes’ first preference would have been to start an apprenticeship in therapy with Reich right away, but he lacked the means to get to Sweden, where Reich was working at the time. In any case, they reconnected in Luzern, Switzerland, in August of the same year during the 13th psychoanalytical congress. There, Ola Raknes passionately fought the exclusion of Reich from the International Psychoanalytical Association along with the two other Norwegian participants, child psychiatrist Nic. Hoel and psychology professor Harald Schjelderup (who would later change her name to Nic. Waal).

Later during the convention, the Norwegian delegation received approval as a separate group, allowing them to accept Reich as a member. However, Wilhelm Reich declined the invitation to join when he relocated to Norway later in 1934. Raknes was working as an apprentice therapist at the time with Otto Fenichel, who he considered to be a friend and colleague of Reich’s. He had stated to Fenichel right away that if Reich was in Norway, he would visit him.

Reich started a character analysis seminar soon after his arrival in Norway. Despite not having undertaken any such analysis himself, Raknes was admitted to this. On a few of his patients that he applied the procedures he had acquired, the outcomes were generally positive. Raknes asked Wilhelm Reich if he would accept him for apprentice therapy in the fall of 1936 due to both personal issues and the belief that Reich’s therapeutic approach was far more effective than the standard Freudian technique he had thus far used.

Reich was unsure and thought Ola Raknes was a little too old and armoured, but he eventually agreed. One of the first patients to whom Reich continuously employed his novel method — which he called characteranalytic vegetotherapy—was likely Ola Raknes. Raknes’ extensive character remodelling, or apprentice therapy, took over three years, three sessions per week, and was laborious owing to his advanced age. He sometimes questioned whether he would ever be able to complete the work he still believed he was designed to perform in a way he would be satisfied with. If he couldn’t manage that, there wouldn’t even be a purpose to live.
But after a long duration of time, he eventually noticed that the energies began to manifest; he also began to notice what was happening inside of his own body and what it would be like to be operating freely. He was surprised by how characteranalytic vegetotherapy and conventional psychoanalysis differed fundamentally. He had studied Reich’s book on character analysis and had used the approach on his patients, but having it work on his own body was a very different experience. In contrast to classical psychoanalysis, the technique was now expanded to include character interpretation, body posture, and the direct manipulation of somatic blockings.
