Interchain Foundation awards Persistence One a grant to develop Interchain Standards (ICS) for Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and Metadata.
Persistence One has been an active contributor to the Cosmos Ecosystem and with strong expertise in building inter-chain operable technologies. This grant is a validation of the technical capabilities of the Persistence One team, and we are setting a new precedent in the interoperability space with superior NFT definitions.
In the past, our team implemented the first Interchain Native NFT transfer, which enabled us to bring real-world assets on the chain and power Institutional Decentralised Finance.
Over the coming months, the Persistence One team will be working closely with the Internchain Foundation and ixo to identify the NFT and Metadata use-cases to design Interchain Standards.

⚪️What does Persistence want to achieve?
Persistence wants to achieve seamless transfer of real-world assets through the tokenization and allowing the usage of real-world assets as a collateral in addition to the crypto assets. They want to reduce the friction between the borrower and lender by having faster settlement time in a trust less way.
⚪️What is the USP of Persistence?
The main USP of the persistence is the usage of tokenization of real-world asset assets which can be used as collateral for lending. In all lending protocols, only crypto assets are used as collateral. So, bringing them up as NFTs in the crypto ecosystem and making them as collateral adds more value to the lending protocols.
⚪️Basic Technical Details:
Persistence will be based on the famous Tendermint consensus engine (Cosmos). All the security guarantee applicable to Tendermint applies here. It is an already proven and reliable system. No need for further explanation here.
Persistence will have 2 key features. A Mainchain and an app specific chain (Example: Comdex App). There will be one main chain and multiple app chains interacting through IBC protocol.
Comdex is the first app specific chain for Persistence. App chain will be having the flexibility of using different consensus like PoA or dPOS as its security can be tied to the main chain.

Governance process is not explained clearly. We believe the team might be updating it soon or optimizing it.
Main focus seems to be on institutional investors and borrowers. Also, additional add-on is the stablecoin backed liquidity pool offered by Mainchain.
