In 2020, Trump took concrete steps to diminish the power of the deep state by making it possible to fire career bureaucrats. It was too late, though, given the fact that he didn’t get a second term in office. Had he, I’m confident we would have seen great things accomplished—many lessons were learned over the course of his first term.
