🇵🇦Panamanian Indigenous communities have been mobilizing for the past several weeks as part of the national strike against the right wing government’s neoliberal policies.

They have been blocking major highways in the country including the Inter-American highway a key road that connects all of Central America. Indigenous communities have been brutally repressed by Panamanian security forces. Notably their mobilizations are taking place in Darién, a southern province in Panama where the US seeks to build a military base- thanks to an agreement signed by Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

🇸🇩 A rapidly spreading cholera is ravaging war-torn Sudan’s capital, Khartoum, and its twin city, Omdurman, which have been left with no supply of water or electricity and few hospitals, most of which have ceased operations.

“For children already weakened by a lack of nutritious food, cholera or any other causes of severe diarrhea can be fatal,” UNICEF has said, warning that over a million children are at risk.

At least 220 Palestinians were killed or injured on Sunday, June 1, after Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire on crowds of starving people at aid distribution centers operated by the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) in Gaza’s southern city of Rafah.

Palestinians hold Witkoff accountable for the deadly attack, which they believe was induced by his swift rejection of Hamas’s response to the latest ceasefire proposal.

#PeoplesHistory | Today marks the 10th anniversary of the Ni Una Menos (Not One (Woman) Less) movement which calls for an end to all forms of gender-based violence.

The movement was born out of a national mobilization on June 3, 2015 which took place in 80 cities across Argentina, the largest mobilization in Argentine history calling for an end to violence against women and justice for victims.

The demand for justice and an end to violence resonated with feminists and social organizations across the region and the world, and Ni Una Menos became a rallying cry in Latin America and the Caribbean.

🇨🇺The impacts of a tightened US blockade, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the return of Trump with a vindictive Marco Rubio as Secretary of State, have deepened the crisis in Cuba, making international solidarity with the island more important than ever.

Manolo De Los Santos writes: "Cuba is once again facing a severe, multi-faceted crisis, not due to the hurricanes that pummel through the Caribbean every year, but from the relentless and suffocating pressure exerted by its powerful neighbor to the north. This is a recurring story of a people striving for independence under an unyielding siege and blockade. Through deliberate actions, the US government has been meticulously constructing and enforcing even greater barriers that threaten the very survival of the Cuban people."
