Hundreds took to the streets in different parts of India to protest the recent US-Israeli aggression against Iran and Israel’s continued genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. Protesters also opposed the failure of the Indian government to condemn the imperialist wars in the region.

Less than half of all health facilities in the Gaza Strip remain partially operational and capable of providing basic primary care and surgery, the Al Mezan Center for Human Rights warned.

Israeli attacks have rendered nearly all hospitals in northern Gaza non-functional, destroying dialysis units, oncology departments, and rehabilitation centers. The threat of total shutdown is now advancing into the southern governorates: the European Hospital has already been forced to close due to the attacks, and the Nasser Medical Center could be next in line.

China advised NATO leadership to “examine their behavior” and let go of their “Cold War mentality, block confrontation and zero-sum approach”, claiming that his country only seeks to “uphold its sovereignty, security, and development interests and continue to do its part to make the world a more peaceful and stable place.”

As Europe’s summer music festival season rolls out, mainstream media and governments are struggling to keep Palestine solidarity off the stage.

In its coverage of Glastonbury Festival, the BBC focused on censoring the Irish rap group Kneecap over their staunch pro-Palestinian stance – only to be met by a wave of artists who used their platform to call for a free Palestine and to demand broadcasters share real news about the Israeli genocide in Gaza.

#PeoplesHistory | On July 1, 1960, Ghana formally became a republic, deepening its break from British colonial rule and advancing its vision of self-determination. This milestone in Ghana’s liberation struggle came under the leadership of Kwame Nkrumah, the country’s first prime minister and president — a revolutionary thinker and pan-Africanist who championed independence not only for Ghana, but for the entire African continent.

The Colombian House of Representatives approved the pension reform bill that had previously been approved by the Senate.

The reform had been held up for almost a year after the Constitutional Court (CC) asked Congress to rectify a procedural error. The House of Representatives did not modify any substantial aspect of the reform, so the so-called “conciliation” process between both branches of the legislature won’t be necessary.

“I’d rather die than be a white man’s slave.” – Joseph Cinqué

Today we remember the La Amistad slave ship uprising — a defining moment in the resistance against the Transatlantic Slave Trade — which took place 186 years ago today.

Contrary to the myth of passive submission, enslaved Africans resisted at every stage of the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Historians estimate that between 15% and 20% of slave ships departing Africa never reached the “New World.” Many were overtaken by the captives themselves.

Hale Aspacio Woodruff, the renowned muralist who studied with Diego Rivera, immortalized this historic rebellion in his three-panel mural series “The Amistad Mutiny”, depicting the uprising, the Supreme Court trial, and the return to Africa.
