Carlos Feo, the ambassador to Venezuela in South Africa, expressed his country’s gratitude for the unwavering support of the South African people.

In hiding, Uganda’s main opposition leader, Robert Kyagulanyi, better known as Bobi Wine, said on January 27 that security operatives went to his residence in Busabala and tried bribing one of his staff members for information on his whereabouts.

After bragging of killing 30 members of Wine’s party, Uganda’s military chief, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, son of its 81-year-old president and heir apparent, said “our troops have orders to bring him in dead or alive!”

Brazilians took to the streets to demonstrate against the US role in Latin America and especially against the illegal US attack on Venezuela, where President Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores were captured. Brazilian social movements also demanded that the US stop the destabilization attempts throughout the subcontinent.

“Minnesota showed the country how to respond to these attacks. Now it’s time to spread the spirit of resistance across the country,” said Ibrahim Sugelleh, a Somali community organizer.

Minnesota calls for a nationwide shutdown as organizers cite escalating ICE repression, recent killings, and growing support for a national general strike.
