📊 The numbers are insane:
• 300TB total size
• 256M song metadata entries
• 86M audio files (covers 99.6% of all Spotify streams)
• World's largest public music database ever created

🔓 How they did it:
They scraped Spotify's entire catalog and bypassed DRM protection to extract the audio files. Popular tracks are kept at 160kbps quality, while lesser-known ones got compressed to 75kbps to save space.

💡 Their reasoning:
The group claims this is a "preservation archive" - protecting music from disappearing if platforms shut down or lose licenses. They're especially focused on archiving obscure artists that nobody else is backing up.

🤖 Plot twist:
The leak also exposed something interesting - Spotify is flooded with AI-generated "garbage music" filling up playlists, making it harder to discover real artists!

⚖️ Legal drama incoming:
Spotify confirmed the breach and called it "unauthorized access using illegal tactics." Expect massive lawsuits soon...

🚨 Google may finally let users change their @gmail.com address

For years, Gmail users have had one major limitation: once you created an address, you could not change it without opening a new account. That appears to be changing.

Recent support documentation updates indicate that Google has begun gradually rolling out the ability to change an existing Gmail address to a new @gmail.com address — while keeping the same Google Account.

🔎 What this update means

If your account becomes eligible, you may be able to:
- Change your current Gmail address to a new @gmail.com address
- Keep all account data (Gmail, Drive, Photos, YouTube, etc.)
- Sign in using either your old or new address
- Receive email sent to both addresses in the same inbox

The old Gmail address is expected to remain as an alias.

⚠️ Limitations & rollout conditions

Early details suggest that:
- Availability is rolling out gradually
- Address changes may be restricted to once every 12 months
- There may be a lifetime cap on total address changes
- Some accounts (Workspace, business-managed, restricted) may not be eligible

Google also indicates that once a new Gmail address is chosen, it may not be immediately reversible or removable.

A Gmail address is tightly connected to:
- identity across Google services
- login credentials and subnoscriptions
- account recovery and security
