In the photo - Camilo Cienfuegos Gorriaran (1932-1959), a Cuban guerrilla with anarchist views and one of the most prominent figures in the Cuban revolution. He was the son of Ramón Cienfuegos Flores and Emilia Gorriaran Zaballa, Spanish anarchists from Pravia (Asturias) and Castro-Urdiales (Cantabria).

Cienfuegos was the founder of the Rebel Army and one of its greatest figures during the war of liberation against the Batista dictatorship. Known as "Comandante del Pueblo", "El Senor de la Vangardia", "Hero of the Jaguahai" or "Hero in the sombrero", he was an outstanding revolutionary of modest origin, unlike the aristocrats of Fidel and Che. Cubans loved him for his cheerful character and natural simplicity. Fidel Castro himself once said about Camilo's revolutionary role: "When I arrived, he was already there."

Cienfuegos fought alongside Fidel at a time when he had not yet declared himself a communist and, according to Che Guevara, Camilo "could not be called a militant communist." He confirmed that he remained true to the anarchist ideals of his parents when they asked him which party he was now from.

Therefore, when Castro's political police began to torture Cuban revolutionary anarchists, Cienfuegos fell out violently with Raul Castro a few days before his disappearance. When Fidel Castro sent in to arrest the partisan Huber Matos, a friend of Camilo, a final break occurred between Camilo and Fidel.

Camilo, the true hero of the Cuban revolution, disappeared into the sea immediately after the conflict with Fidel, as did many other anarchists who had rebelled against the dictatorship of Fidel Castro and Che Guevara disappeared or were killed. Here are just a few of their names:

- Augusto Sanchez, guerrilla, killed by the new Castro regime.
- Rolando Tamargo, Sebastian Aguilar and Ventura Suarez, shot by the new regime.
- Eusebio Otero, found dead in his room.
- Raul Negrin, persecuted by the new Cuban authorities, committed suicide by self-immolation.
- Francisco Aguirre, died in the prison of the new Castro regime.
- Victoriano Hernandez, was crippled and blind from prison torture, committed suicide.
- Jose Alvarez Micheltorena, died a few weeks after being released from prison.

In 1962, there were anarchists in Cuban prisons:

- Placido Mendes, former Escambray guerrilla fighter. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison for opposing the totalitarian measures of the new regime.
- Antonio Degas, CNT member, former participant in the Spanish revolution. Participated in the resistance against the Batista regime and continued to resist against the Castro regime.
- Isidro Moscow, sentenced to 20 years in prison.
- Suria Lingsuain, got off with a short time.
- Luis M. Linsuain, a trade unionist who opposed Stalinism in the labor movement, earning the hatred of Leninist leaders and, in particular, Raul Castro, whom Luis tried to kill in retaliation for his repressive and punitive policies. He was sentenced to death, commuted to life in prison.
- Sandalio Torres, accused of "counter-revolutionary activities" (membership in anarchist trade unions), was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Tortured.
- Jose Asena, veteran revolutionary from the July 26 Movement who fought against Batista. Sentenced to 20 years in prison.
- Alberto Garcia, also fought against Batista in the July 26 Movement. He was falsely accused of "counter-revolutionary activities" and sentenced to 30 years in prison.

In a short time, the new communist government put an end to anarchist resistance and established the "dictatorship of the proletariat", which is nothing more than the dictatorship of the party, that is, the dictatorship of the minority over the majority.

There's no left unity but only a myth, think twice before you start "critically" supporting another delusional bloody regime that kills your comrades.
