I keep thinking about this poem since I read it for the first time

A bit of analysis on this poem since people seem confused

Frida Kahlo started to paint when forced in bed after an accident she had when she was young that left her disabled and disfigured. While her work may look colorful and joyful on a surface level, it often hides the artist's pain and struggle with her own body.
The poet's daughter had a similar accident, so she states she wants to avoid the comparison, but seems unable to escape it, so in the last line she wishes on herself to at least think about a happier, more confident Frida to use as a comparison for her child
