This video provides an excellent summary of some statistical studies which found that third-world dictatorships are actually more responsive to their citizens' desires than the US government is to its citizens. Well, I should clarify: some of the US's citizens. There was, strangely enough, a strong correlation between the desires of the elites and concrete policy changes. Conservatives seem averse to observing the reality of socioeconomic class and corresponding power. Since basically every rich/powerful person and institution is currently arrayed against the right, it seems quite foolish to remain silent about the power of the elite class, or to advocate for lower taxes for them as the right currently does. https://www.bitchute.com/video/jeroq1tZ2v6W/

"Mere Christianity" is a classic, but does it deserve to be? There are some amazingly spectacular parts, but all the same, there are some disappointing sections as well. In this week's post, I give my take on the nuances in which Lewis excels and where he falls short, in my opinion. https://protestantpost.substack.com/p/reviewed-mere-christianity-by-cs

Historically, Christianity has been flatly opposed to interest, but in the modern day, most Christians unthinkingly accept it. Given that our modern economy is based on interest, it would be wise to think through the issues carefully. https://protestantpost.substack.com/p/the-ethics-of-interest-and-usury

In the past year, many Christians have realized that the Western church is not immune from persecution. But this is something our Chinese brothers already knew. We would do well to learn from them. https://protestantpost.substack.com/p/the-state-of-the-church-in-china

If Christians want to stop the leftward drift of their churches, they need to make a very simple decision: Do they believe God's law is sufficient to deal with social ills, or will we keep importing secular ideologies to handle it? https://protestantpost.substack.com/p/theonomy

Florida BANS CRT in schools!
The Florida State Board of Education has officially made it ILLEGAL to teach Critical Race Theory (CRT) in public school classrooms.
CTR is an academic concept which teaches that White people, institutions, and legal systems are inherently racist and view racism as a social construct. Thus, all people of color are perpetually repressed.
Florida education chiefs believe teaching CRT could possibly "distort historical events," with Florida governor Ron DeSantis calling CRT 'toxic" and an attempt to "indoctrinate children with ideology."

The Church in the present dispensation is a militant Church, that is, she is called unto, and is actually engaged in, a holy warfare. This, of course, does not mean that she must spend her strength in self-destroying internecine struggles, but that she is duty bound to carry on an incessant warfare against the hostile world in every form in which it reveals itself, whether in the Church or outside of it, and against all the spiritual forces of darkness. The Church may not spend all her time in prayer and meditation, however necessary and important these may be, nor may she rest on her oars in the peaceful enjoyment of her spiritual heritage. She must be engaged with all her might in the battles of her Lord, fighting in a war that is both offensive and defensive. - Louis Berkhof

🇨🇳 Public humiliation of a man whose views did not align with those of the Chinese Communist Party during the cultural revolution of the 1960s. The cultural revolution sought to purge all capitalist and traditionalist elements from Chinese society and resulted in the persecution and deaths of millions.
This week I'm looking at the evidence for the idea of the Protestant work ethic. I found a very robust correlation between the percentage of a nation that was Protestant and their GDP/capita (as the graph depicts). However, I think the sociologists' explanation falls short and instead supply my own. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the theory and the empirical evidence. https://protestantpost.substack.com/p/the-economics-of-protestantism
