This is a positive development, no doubt, but walk-out tactics will only work for so long. Give it a couple months, and these companies will find ways to replace uncooperative employees. Longer-term solutions are required.

In the Jim Crow era (early 1900s), many folks who were 3/4 or 7/8 white and could pass for being white would attempt to identify themselves legally as white, thus gaining access to certain privileges. The "One Drop Rule" was developed to counteract this (the rule being that, if somebody had even "one drop" of African blood, they could not be considered "white.")
