Jim Watkins joined the US Army in 1982 when he was 18. He was a helicopter mechanic & recruiter. In 1987 the Army sent him to tech school in Virginia where he studied computers & the early Internet. His son Ron, born in 1987, has stated that Jim was a part of ARPANET.
Jim left the Army in 1999 & moved to the Philippines in 2001 splitting time between Manila & his pig farm.
Ron convinced his father to buy 8chan from Frederick Brennan & Jim took control of the servers in 2015.
The original Q was on 4chan. After post 229 the Q board was taken over by Tracy Beanz & the Watkins as it moved to 8chan.
8chan was filled with child porn & hate speech. It was shut down & moved to 8Kun.
In August 2020 researchers learned that 8kun shared an IP address with QMap, meaning the Watkins controlled both & could post as both.
On 1/7/21, a server weakness exposed a year’s worth of email logs for 8kun & showed that Jim had been in contact with many QAnon influencers, including a possible US Army contract specialist.
