Top Russian Tech Executives Found Dead in Siberian Antarctic Wilderness

Two top executives of the Russian social media giant VK have died while traveling in a desolate part of northern Russia, the company confirmed Tuesday.

First Deputy Director General Vladimir Gabrielyan and Procurement Director Sergey Merzlyakov were killed in an accident in the Yamalo-Nenets autonomous region, a company statement said.

The pair were reportedly using two all-terrain vehicles to cross a river with a group when they got dragged out to sea. Two people managed to escape but the two execs died.

An investigation will look into the circumstances of their deaths.
