Seems we are getting MUCH MUCH closer to supply chain issues so I am reposting this—-
Just as a good rule of thumb.
Always try to make sure you have :
- A supply of cash on hand that you could buy the things you need for 3-4 weeks ( I personally prefer longer than that)
- Food supply (dry goods, emergency supply) for at least a month for every member of your household
- Fresh water supply, filtration, containers - what if theres no power for an extended period of time and you cant get water from the tap?
- hand tools - Axe, hatchet, saw, hammer, shovel. nothing powered or needs gas
- batteries and lights, solar panels, recharging capability, emergency radio
- a way to cook. Camping stove, BBQ grill, fuel for the above
- during winter, a way to heat and stay warm if needed
- first aid kit
If you are able to do that it's always better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it
