It seems I always resonate the most with stories about food and about culture. this was not grandiose. This was small, and sweet, andI very much enjoyed reading that

The recipe for Ronny’s charm belonged to Mr. Chen, some retired chef who used run a cheap Chinatown restaurant. Truth be told, when Kaifeng first met Ronny at Venue in the west side of downtown, th…

Allpa received the magic sword from his grandmother, as she lay dying. “I’m afraid I don’t really need a sword, grandma,” he said. “No, nor do you deserve it,” she snapped at him. She was a fierce old woman with a nose like a hawk’s beak and skin falling…

The thing is it’s disguntingly easy to find a good sff book, or a horror one, with lesbians. Hell, my fav book, my obsession since 2019, the book that changed how I viewed writing forever (Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir) has lesbians coming out of the fucking walls. And the story is about sci fi necromancers, so like. But, other from that, I could easily name several other books WITH lesbians and not ABOUT lesbians, that do their own things and are very good.
But with gay men? Not so much. Gay or Achillean relationship and pgs are relegated to romances and YA books. The Good books with gay men in them are few, precious, and far inbetween.
(Don’t ever get me started about other orientations, or well yes you could but the post talked about gays so here I am considering only the gays)
Why is that? I think you fucking know why. It makes me angry, and it’s not right. I want meaningful stories about gay guys that go rob a bank or fight in space, and I want them regularly. I want them varied and aplenty.
Yes I know exceptions exist. Yes I know that if you go indie o self pub it’s easier to find things. But it shouldn’t be. It should be the same.

Why is It so hard to talk about food issues stuff with people? The last two attempts got me a “ouch, i’m so sorry” and a full-fledged ghosting
