Five Indian citizens were kidnapped in western Niger during an attack last week by armed men that also killed a dozen soldiers, according to two Nigerian security sources and a statement by Indian state authorities seen by Reuters on Wednesday.

Tensions with India: Citizens in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir instructed to stockpile 2 months worth of food.

Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, the so called Prime Minister of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, told the local assembly on Friday: "Instructions have been issued to stockpile two months' worth of food in 13 constituencies bordering the Line of Control."

He said the government has also set up an emergency fund of one billion rupees ($3.5 million) to ensure the provision of "food, medicines and all other basic necessities" in these 13 constituencies.

The so called Prime Minister further said that government and private machinery is also being delivered to the spot for the rehabilitation of roads in areas adjacent to the Loc.
