August 30th, marks the 78th birthday of Baba Harbhajan Singh, born in 1946. Baba Harbhajan Singh, also known as the Saint of Nathula, continues to serve both in life and death on the Nathula border between India and China in East Sikkim. Despite his passing in 1968 at the age of 22 while on duty in Sikkim, Baba Harbhajan Singh is still believed to guard the Nathula Border.

He is revered by both the Indian and Chinese armies, who continue to honor his presence. During flag meetings between the two nations, the Chinese army sets aside a chair for the saint, recognizing his undying spirit and commitment.
