Accidentally Lost My BTC Backup in 2022 — Just Recovered It in 2025
I have a pretty crazy story that happened to me last year lol.
Back in 2022, I had some BTC on my PC. My Windows was acting up, so I decided to format it. I had made a backup from Electrum and saved it on an SD card, but I wasn’t very experienced back then.
After formatting the PC, I reinstalled everything and tried to restore the wallet using the private keys and the 12-word seed… and I just couldn’t find them. I was frustrated and honestly pretty sad. I thought my BTC was gone forever.
A few years passed.
Around July or August 2025, I was bored and decided to clean up my SD card, deleting random junk files. In the middle of that, I found a folder with several private keys inside.
I started testing them one by one.
On the fifth key… when I saw the balance, I literally leaned back in my chair in shock. I even took a picture of the screen to capture the moment. The value had almost tripled since 2022.
It felt unreal.
Right after that, I created a brand-new wallet with a fresh seed, transferred everything there, and properly backed up the words this time.
I told a friend about it and he said it sounds like that story of the guy who threw away a hard drive with BTC on it — except in my case, I actually found mine

Do we anticipate BTC do dump even further on Monday?
Truly terrible times we live in. I myself have relatives in Iran so have been worried for some time. Maybe it’s out of taste to discuss BTC’s price, but this wouldn’t be r/bitcoin if we didn’t consider the effects of conflict on the chart.
Is it everyone’s view that today BTC has taken its first hit alone, but Monday will bring even heavier liquidation?

BTC is in an "accumulation" phase rn.
Based on my technical analysis, which I do have a few years of experience in, BTC has just entered an accumulation phase that will probably last for a few months and then we could see the price climb. I know you can't base much off of TA but I've been accurate with BTC in the past. Been stocking up my bag for the next bull run.

I’m officially done calling Bitcoin a 'hedge', it’s just Nasdaq in a leather jacket and it just kicked me in the teeth
I’m tired, man.
I really fell for the 'safe haven' narrative again. Every time the macro gets shaky, I tell myself: 'This is why you hold BTC. It’s the hedge against the system.' Then some tariff headlines drop, stocks take a slight dip, and BTC decides to do a backflip off a cliff below $64k.
I was looking at the charts today and it’s just painful. Gold is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. Meanwhile, my crypto portfolio looks like a crime scene. It feels like we’re just trading a high-leverage version of tech stocks. When the world gets scared, we don’t get a hedge; we get a liquidation party.
A few things I realized while staring at my red candles:
1. Correlation is a bitch. It doesn’t matter how decentralized the tech is if the money trading it is the same money panic-selling NVDA.
2. The 'Digital Gold' tag is a trap. In a crisis, people want actual safety, not 24/7 volatility that can wipe out your margin in a single tweet.
3. Leverage makes it 10x worse. The cascade below $64k was so fast I didn't even have time to hedge.
Honestly, I was so tilted I didn’t even want to touch my main bags, so I hopped onto my BYDFi demo account just to see if a short hedge would have actually saved my ass if I had pulled the trigger at $66k. Turns out the math works, but my brain was just too frozen to actually execute it irl.
I’m just venting at this point. I'm still holding, but the "hedge" dream is dead for me.
How are you guys coping?
Are you actually selling or just closing your eyes and hoping for a bounce?
Does anyone here still genuinely believe BTC decouples from macro when things get ugly?
Or is 'Digital Gold' just something we tell ourselves so we feel better about the volatility?

Citi Wants To Bring Bitcoin Into Traditional Finance
Citi plans to introduce infrastructure that integrates Bitcoin into its banking systems, a bank executive said.
Solo Satoshi Releases The Bitaxe Turbo Touch, The Most Powerful Open-Source Touchscreen Bitcoin Miner.
The Bitaxe Touch line just got a major upgrade with the Turbo Touch edition, built on the Bitaxe GT 801 platform with dual BM1370 chips.
Quick rundown:
2.15 TH/s default, 3.06+ TH/s overclocked
4.3" capacitive touchscreen with 8 live screens (hashrate, block height, latest blocks, BTC price, clock, Wi-Fi config, settings, hashrate graph)
All screen data pulls from [mempool.space](http://mempool.space)
\~43W, \~35 dB
Mining firmware is mainline AxeOS (esp-miner), screen firmware is BAP-GT-TOUCH, both fully open source
Runs on the ESP32-S3 with Wi-Fi, same as other Bitaxe models
The big jump from the original Bitaxe Touch is doubling the hashrate (was \~1.0 TH/s on the single BM1370 version), going from 4 screens to 8, and moving the screen firmware from proprietary to open source through the GT 801's Bitaxe Accessory Port.
It was shown off at the HeatPunk Summit in Denver this week.
Full technical breakdown here: https://www.solosatoshi.com/bitaxe-touch-unveiled/

People who were left out of Bitcoin and now have emotional damage
I often see people criticizing Bitcoin, and many times, these are people who were told about Bitcoin when it was worth $100, $1,000, or $10,000.
People who could have bought it and changed their lives forever, lived like kings.
But they missed out, and now they CAN'T STAND Bitcoin.
Their brains put them in defense mode, thinking, "It's a scam that will go down to zero," because they can't accept that they messed up.
Poor people... they could buy Bitcoin today and become wealthy in 5-10 years, but their brains won't let them...

The 20 millionth Bitcoin gets mined in 2 weeks. Is anyone else thinking about what comes after?
Everyone's focused on the price crash right now. Meanwhile in 2 weeks the 20 millionth Bitcoin gets mined quietly with zero fanfare.
95% of all Bitcoin that will ever exist already exists. The remaining 1 million takes 114 years to distribute. And somewhere between 2-4 million are already gone forever — lost wallets, dead hard drives, forgotten keys.
So the real number isn't even 20 million. It's closer to 16-17 million. Held by maybe 50-100 million people worldwide.
What gets me is the timing. People panic selling at $63K while one of the most significant supply milestones in Bitcoin history approaches in literally 14 days.
Anyone else find it wild that this isn't the biggest story in crypto right now?
