Pc motherboard update

Hey guys I have an issue and need help.

I have bought a new cpu, Intel i5 14600k to replace my i3 12100.

I am planning on updating my BIOS but the file in my usb doesn’t show during the flash mode.

I have tried different USBs so far no luck and don’t know where to go about now.

Btw my motherboard is a MSI PRO B760M-P.

Does anyone have a fix please?

Thank you

Desktop Lagging While Gaming

Hi all, my husband is an avid gamer and just got a new PC. Since I didn't have one, I took over his old PC - it's about a decade old now. I have been playing some video games on it with very low requirements (think cozy games with low CPU usage). They were working great until my kid kept force shutting down the computer, and one time, when I turned it back on, none of my games would run smoothly, with graphics super laggy. Videos like YouTube run fine and everything else seems to be running the same as always. I know how old the computer is and my expectations are relatively low, but I thought I would ask here because gaming seems to be the only thing I can't do.

I mainly am trying to be able to play modest games again (I'm hardly trying to play Rust or RDR2, just smaller games like Stardew Valley or Two Point games). My PC uses ethernet direct connection, not wifi, and everything was fine until a few weeks ago. My RAM usage seems a little high (around 45%) but I haven't done anything different, and that doesn't seem horrible or anything.

If anyone thinks I should cross post this elsewhere, please let me know!

Since having these issues, I have tried:

\-Defragging

\-Updating driver

\-Cleaning up PC storage

\-Checking CPU usage, especially while playing said games (stays pretty low)

\-Uninstalling and reinstalling Steam and specific games

\-Scanning for malware, trojans, etc.

\-Memory diagnostics, etc.

Some specs on my PC:

\-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB Graphics

\-16 GB RAM

\-315 GB/1 TB storage used

\-INTEL Core i7 7700 CPU @ 4.2 GHz Processor

\-Windows 10 OS

Bought a new computer just to play Genshin Impact, but the game won’t download :(

Hi everyone! This is my first time using reddit, so please forgive me as I learn how this works.

I bought a new computer simply because I missed playing Genshin Impact and I wanted to get back into it again. The first thing I did when I got the computer out of the box and got through the setup process was go to download the game, but I couldn’t get it to work at all. The download process with the launcher/installer works fine, but I run into problems when I actually go to install the game.

The game installs extremely slowly. The estimated installation time pops up to 100 hours almost immediately after I start the download. It will download excruciatingly slow, with 0.01% at a time. It will eventually freeze and then shut itself down.

My boyfriend tried downloading the game onto his computer to see if the issue was with mine, and he had no problems. I can’t see the problem being with my computer though, as it was quite literally new out of the box and we are using the same internet connection. I had my boyfriend look through the specs of the computer before I bought it to ensure that it would be able to handle the game, and he said it would be fine.

I’ve tried all the tricks that I could find online, but at this point, I’m at a loss and upset that I wasted money on something I can’t get to work.

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance for your kindness and have a wonderful rest of your holiday season.

How do I organize my PC after reset? (Windows 11 22H2, 512 GB SSD)

Finally, after messing up my Windows installation, slowing up the PC (actually a laptop) by installing all the unnecessary stuff, completely messing up the order, and filling it with clutter, I decided to start with a fresh installation, and a new beginning. This time, I want to keep everything organized, neat and clean, without letting anything go out of my hand. I want complete control over my files, and it should be very predictable. Can you give any ideas for organizing my computer? It just has a 512 GB SSD, and I have a 32 GB USB drive. I don't play games, but I do take lots of screenshots.

The problem with apps is, if I install them in the C Drive as usual, they scatter files all over the C Drive, and they keep storing cache wherever they want. They just get out of my hand, and when I uninstall the apps, most of their residual folders and files don't get cleared out, and it is next to impossible to manually delete them all. However, if I install apps on a separate partition, most of the times, either the apps just break in the middle, or Windows fails to recognize the apps, and do the adjustments, so I end up breaking my PC again.

My idea is to store everything neatly, and keep the PC clean, but importantly, predictable. I want a clean installation for once.

Any ideas and suggestions are appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Wine spilled on my laptop

It's 4am and someone spilled wine on my laptop while I was in the bathroom. It was closed in sleep mode and the spill was cleaned up before I got out. I don't know how much was spilled or where it spilled but my whole laptop smells like wine. They also powered it on as soon the spill was cleaned up and said it works...

I can't disassemble it until Monday so just how screwed am I? It wasn't a cheap laptop and I don't have the means to replace it before next semester starts in two weeks. I'm so pissed
