Cpp-d
Ok so I currently have odsp, dtc, cdb but I got denied my Cpp-d when first applying and then applied for reconsideration so my question is how many of you guys are on cppd and did you get it on first try or reconsideration or did you have to goto the tribunal? How long was your reconsideration time? even know my cppd will be pretty low because I hardly ever payed into cpp its still a very good status to have for the future me.

A large overpayment help/tips
i'm dealing with a very large over payment ($105,000.00) and I thing it's wrong. I did an internal review and waiting for my social benefits tribunal review appointment. Back in 2013 i was diagnosed with brain tumor at 23 and had surgery 5 days after finding out of the tumor. When I was at the hospital doing therapy I had a caseworker who came to me and told me about ODSP and DCPP and did all the paper of worl to sign me up. I got denied for DCPP but I got approved for ODSP. in 2015 they said the tumor grew back to the same size and I had to surgery away and it was cancerous all along. Judt like last time I got the same caseworker and she did the paper work for DCPP, this time I got approved for DCPP. I got married in 2016 and had 2 kids. This summer my wife notic I didn't get paid from ODSP so I called and my case worker told me I had an over payment because i didn't tell them about my DCPP. I asked the case worker how much I owe, she said I need to give her information on how much DCPP I got all those 10 years. When i asked how she told me to get the last 10 years of bank statment and add up the DCPP. Well the bank only keep the last 7 years and after going through the last 7 year of banks statment adding up all the DCPP payment they wouldn't take it. It took about 3 monthh worth of getting information for her and she was the one who told me get the information from here then oh sorry it's not good enough. Final we had a 3 way call with CRA and still wait a week for the damn letter to tell me how much I owe. I thing they made a lot of mistake but mistake is the first on my mind. The letter i got said the payment was for $64,000 so you take and it divide by 2 me($u32,000) wife ($32,000) and that would be the payment each but it would still add up to $64,000. when you go on the website and on the payment page is says the over payment is $96,000 but when you go to the home pages it says $105,000. Where did the extra money come from? was does it show me 3 different amounts? I'm thinking when they divided $64,000 by 2 they added that amount to the $64,000 but i don't because they wont tell me anything about the over payment. When I ask my caseworker a question I get answer like yes yes yes or do you trust me if you do I'm right. I get those type answer. I'm sorry for grammer and my writing skill PS it's not very good. Thank you any advice would be great thanks again

Christmas Hugs
I know it’s hard to be merry on Christmas Day especially when one is a PWD on ODSP, so I won’t wish that. Instead I will send out hugs to anyone who needs them. 🤗🤗🤗 It’s really sad that the government doesn’t give out a Christmas bonus to ease the suffering just a tiny bit once a year.

Got the medical package yesterday.
Hey everyone! Wishing you all Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
I got the medical package yesterday. It's sealed in a large envelope. Should I open it or give it to my family doctor? I was verified as a permanent disability by the government before came to Canada. I've never gone to see a specialist in Canada since December 6, 2014. Because my pre-landing medical examination proved that my permanent disability would not burden the Canadian healthcare system, in 2014.
I have my diagnostic certificates, MRI report, EMG report, etc., in Chinese. Do I need to translate these into English and have them certified? Do I need to put the original Chinese documents and the translated and certified documents together in the package? I've Googled it, and translating and certifying these documents can be quite expensive. Can you guys give me some suggestions? Where can I find free or low-cost translation services? Thank you!

Dedutions.
I was wondering if someone could answer my question. I am first nations and I recently got a job and I was enrolled in an aboriginal program called Miziwe Biik employment and training program for native people and I was wondering if I receive a 1000 dollars for work start up will odsp treat this as income or will it affect my check by reducing it because I'm also receiving $374 payroll check within the same month.

Rant
I have messaged my worker thru my benefits 3 times now about needing her to increase the amount of direct pay for my hydro bill and she still she has not responded. The bill now? $327!!!!!!!! Due Jan 5th and all ODSP is currently direct paying is $25, like hello I think it needs to be increased moron. I'm so annoyed. Now I have to pay the damn bill in full or else my credit is going to get screwed (it's actually very good right now). So I'm just pissed. Can she not look at the bill and figure out maybe $100/month should be better or something? Even my math is not THAT bad. So the $327 is now going on my freaking credit card. YAY sarcasm

ODSP approved but no payment yet + back pay + starting university (OSAP questions)
Hi everyone,
I was approved for ODSP on November 12, and today is December 26. I still haven’t received any payment or message from ODSP or Ontario Works yet. It’s been almost six weeks now, so I’m starting to worry and I’m not sure what’s happening.
I was approved after almost two years of waiting. I’m wondering if I’m eligible for back pay, and if so, how far back it usually goes and how long it takes to receive it.
I’m also graduating high school soon and planning to start university, and I’m a bit confused about how ODSP works with school.
• How does ODSP work with OSAP?
• Do OSAP grants or loans affect my ODSP payment?
• Do I need to report OSAP or my school enrollment to my ODSP worker?
• Is it better to stay on ODSP while in university, or rely on OSAP only?
If anyone has experience with this, I’d really appreciate any advice.
Thank you.

Lawsuit payout/settlement reporting?
About a few weeks ago I slipped due to negligence and recieved a severe concussion. I have a lawyer and I served the plaza owners. If I do receive a payout, do I have to report it to my caseworker? How would this work? I will not view answers to my question as legal advice.

Is ODSP lifelong for people with mental illness?
My latest mental health diagnosis is Bipolar 1. Have been diagnosed with BPD & Schizoaffective Disorder in the past. I got approved for ODSP a few months ago. I haven’t been working for a few years now. I did volunteer at a nonprofit for about a year but I was let go from there because of somethings I did during a manic episode. Before that I was let go from two jobs because I couldn’t find the motivation to get up and go to work when I was scheduled. I am medicated right now. So I am not manic or in psychosis. But I still feel quite depressed. Which means I don’t really have much motivation to find work. But I keep thinking if I don’t find work then if ODSP gets cancelled at some point because they think that I am doing well…then I will have to huge gap in my resume and I’ll never get hired.

Does anyone know how OSAP works on ODSP?
Posting this here for reassurance/peace of mind. I'm very physically and mentally disabled, finally got on ODSP at the end of 2023 after a few years of trying. I recently have been in a bit of an upswing, and my mental health is medicated, and I've always wanted to go to college. I recently got the ability to attend fully online college for the field I want to go into and I'm over the moon. I've applied for OSAP, and I'm going through the application process, and google says that OSAP shouldn't effect ODSP, but I have horrible OCD among other things, and there is a piece of paperwork I was required to submit to my ODSP worker that says "Submit this to assess your elligibility for social assistance while recieving OSAP". And now I'm terrified that they're going to come back to me and tell me that its either my disability that I desperately need, or attending college. I'm scared that even applying is going to lose it for me. Could anyone who's been through the process maybe offer some reassurance about it all?

30 Day Internal Review
Hello, I hope everyone is well. I just wanted to ask about the 30 day timeframe for an internal review. Is it completely unimportant? I waited like 35 days then when I called they said they are still working on it. Immediately after, I get a call saying there’s been an update and they decided to uphold the decision to deny. They then gave me a denial letter with a made up date as to when I submitted my request (They just added 2 weeks onto the start date without explanation). It seems to me noone was working on my file and it was suddenly denied. I would appreciate if anyone has info on the 30 day deadline or what might explain this.

Sent application two weeks ago
So i sent my package via xpress post two weeks ago and i got the notification it was signed for and accepted the next day. How long before i can find out if its been scanned into the system? Im so anxious lol.
Also i have FND in both my hands, i was off two years from work as my hands didnt work at all for a while and can only work 4 hour shift now with accommodations (cant cook or clean and struggle with other daily activities), i have two years of documentation notes with a rehabilitation specialist i included in the application. I didnt have access do that doctor anymore as i had to be referred to a neurologist who i wont see until august. So i got my psychiatrist to fill out the form as i also have cptsd, adhd, bpd, unspecified mood disorder. Are my changes good?
Thanks for the help!

Housing/Respite Care
Any advice on where to start helping my wheelchair bound 43 year old brother find respite care/housing? He currently lives with my aging mother but she is having difficulty taking care of herself. He has never lived on his own and it is unlikely that he could do so with his cognitive skill set. My thought was to have him assessed by a psychologist to see if he could qualify for any extra supports, in addition to his physical disabilities. I am worried as I am sure supports are grim.

Inheritance - what to do?
I am getting a trust account set up. But I don't want to lose my disability benefits. Is there a way I can just give the inheritance to my mom? It is from my grandmother who passed recently. I don't care about money. I like the consistency of my benefits because I have autism and have an established routine and budget.

Better Jobs Ontario
So I am working on a better jobs Ontario applications and in the approval process I registered to school and accepted an offer for a program and now have to pay a non refundable deposit of $250. I’m wondering if I have to pay that out of pocket or is that covered by BJO ?

Travelling
Hi Everyone I'm sort of confused
I'm currently traveling it's been 2 days I'm not sure if I will be gone for 30 days or might stay more for spiritual and family visit depending on how my parents health is feeling. The plan is to come back at 30 days tho or even 35-40 days.
Do I have to report odsp before or can I report that during traveling if i haven't gone over 30 days
I've already got the odsp for January would that be an overpayment if I went over 30 days or would that stop Feb odsp from coming in.
