Account on hold due to not reporting my income
I just found out that my ODSP has been placed on hold due to not reporting my income. I took a leave of absence from work from about November to February. I told my worker and we discussed that I would tell her when I went back to work. I got a message from her on the 6th of February saying “ just a gentle reminder to report your income”. Since I just went back to work I had not received income yet but I also didn’t see this message in time because they sent a letter on the 13th saying I have been placed on hold due to not reporting my income. I have made just over $100 and reported it to my caseworker today. I’m just really worried that they will not lift the hold and I’ll have to do an internal review.I suffer from Bipolar Disorder and Depression and Anxiety etc. I have a bunch of medication that I take , rent to pay and I only work 10 hours a week at minimum wage. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do or what may happen??? I’m really worried about this and would love some advice. Thanks so much.

Travel report. File on hold.
My partner has severe executive functioning limitations, and he can't do paperwork or email, which has seriously limited his work possibilities all his life. He's autistic. Was many years on ODSP. His dad is a retired engineer and he has helped a lot. Partner should have gotten off odsp already because I earn enough but because I pay a fortune in education and rent, etc. the 15000 line of the taxes, and the declaration is usually small, and it works out.
However, we both travel. I go to trainings and study events and stay longer to visit my family. He visits family. We got a letter asking for travel dates and stamps. I was away for months. He, never was away more than 30 days.
I sent what was asked in the letter we got: proof of travel. What can we expect?
I'm terrified of an audit. I know we would get legal aid, but the stress is terrible. We don't have assets. Have lots of debt but finances are hugely messy, cash advanced, deposits loans, not much properly tracked. So much done wrong!! 😔 No savings or assets, though
We will be ok as of 2026 without odsp. I will work more. But the fear is killing me.
Thank you for any advice you can provide!!

Dental allowances
Hi . I’m looking for sleep dentistry that accepts odsp. In or near Brampton . I previously had my teeth done ( 2 years + ago) at a place that was great but a 200$ cab ride away. My disability prevents normal check ups as I have a form of throat cancer

Trying for most income possible under odsp and finances discussion
I currently receive the basic needs and max rent portion of odsp, $100 under msn for bandages, $250 for special diet allowance, $200 for canada disability benefit and trilliam which is about $31 monthly. Adds up to about $1989 monthly.
I'm seeking to work a part-time job to earn an extra $1000 per month so there isn't clawbacks going over and I know they offer another $100 for working. Almost $3100 sound's nice if I get there but wondering if there's any other methods to earn more but within ODSP rules and without working over 1k getting clawbacks.
I heard theres a Canadas worker benefit which adds about $2400 annually and also $500 worker benefit annually as well. Going to be claiming rent this year so hoping it raises my mothly trilliam from $31 to hopefully $50 or more. I heard gst will go up if it's voted to in government so that might be nice.
I have an RDSP with about $12000 in it and adding $100 each month (which they add extra when I do), putting it into higher risk GIC but might try gold EFTs when they unlock. I have $1500 so far but add $500 monthly into a tax free savings account to build up my emergency fund (it's in a low risk mutual fund). I also bought my first gold piece that's 5 grams (cost $1170) and declared it as an asset. Rdsp is for retirement, gold is for medium to long-term saving and TFSA is for emergency and medium term goals.
I'm open to hearing what anyone else is doing to earn and save the most money possible. I'm very open to suggestions and advice!

Question about Child Disability Benefit after DTC approval
Does anyone know when I should expect the CRA to apply the child disability benefit after they approved the DTC application and automatically adjusted my last ten years of tax returns (the express NOAs are already in my CRA account with a date of March 9th, but nothing about the child disability benefit online. I know I have to write a letter to go further than two years back, however I am wondering when I should see that I will get the monthly payment as well as the back pay they give for the last few years automatically.
If anyone can help me out, I’m just anticipating it so much I don’t want to wait to call lol. It’s great news for my family.
Also, they approved the DTC from the year he was born until 2030, but he will turn 18 before then. Will it automatically turn into the adult disability benefit for him at 18? And the DTC will be able to transfer to him at 18 as well?
Thanks in advance!

Bank Fees
FYI: Many of the major Canadian banks have committed to not charging monthly bank fees to those on assistance or with an RDSP.
This came into effect December 1st, 2025. A long time coming, but at least it's here now.
It's worth checking out to see if your bank charges you and you are eligible. Those monthly fees add up!

Do I have to report small online income on ODSP?
I’m on ODSP and just started to make about $20–$50 a week from online surveys.
It’s inconsistent and paid through PayPal or gift cards (grocery stores, amazon, winners, home depot)
Do I need to report this as income? How does ODSP treat small online earnings like this, even if I cash out as gift cards.

Self report
I’m in the process of filling out my ODSP application paperwork and wondering if it’s best to include depression and anxiety when it’s not the main issue (I have significant medical problems/cancer) because it is part of the bigger picture, or is it better to leave that out because mental health stuff requires additional justification/documentation and more likely to get rejected? I need to fill in my stuff before seeing my doc otherwise I’d get their opinion first.

Can I have multiple professionals fill out my DTC?
Google said yes, but of course I won't rely on Google AI. Had a difficult time trying to understand the rest.
I have physical health issues, speech issues, and mental health (all severe, >90% of the time). Would I be able to have my speech pathologist fill out the speech area, my occupational therapist do the mobility-related things, and then my psychologist (or GP) fill out the mental health section?
My GP is functionally useless and won't do details, so I'm trying to use pretty much anyone else possible. Do all sections need to be completed by one doctor? Or is it fine to have the specialists do each?

How long will I be waiting?
I went through a years process of fighting with disability and the tribunal convincing them that I have a disability. I was finally approved, and told I would be contacted "soon" or within 5 weeks, and that they would be back paying me for the past year.
after finding this information out, my boyfriend and I gave our notice at our current place of residence because it's very small and uncomfortable for two people, thinking that when my back pay comes through, I can afford first and last months deposit... it's been 7 weeks.. I have contacted my local disability office, who tells me to call the disability adjudication unit, so I call them.. and they tell me to call my local office.. so which one is it?
my phone had been cut off because I couldn't afford my $40 phone bill .. so even if they do try to contact me.. they won't get through now.
please help.. what do I do??

Missing a lot of bottom teeth making it hard to eat
Hi everyone, as the noscript says Im a bit screwed because I am missing a few bottom teeth except most of my front teeth and some of the ones besides those, and its actually become hard to eat. What dentist accepts ODSP and what on Earth would a dentist do to fix this? I read about partial dentures and stuff.. anyways I cant find a place that accept ODSP anymore It seems. I am up north in Orillia but can travel to the right dentist to get this sorted

What free tax software do you use?
If you can recommend something very simple to use (for someone particularly with a mild learning disability). Someone who has no other income other than ODSP, so it's should be pretty straight forward.
